During his opening monologue at the 77th Annual Golden Globe Awards on January 5, 2020, Gervais directly targeted Apple CEO Tim Cook and the Hollywood establishment for their corporate hypocrisy. He specifically targeted Apple’s reliance on “sweatshops in China” to produce the very devices used to stream their content. [1, 2] When the cultural relevance of a celebrity begins to decay, the modern landscape offers an immediate antidote: find a stage, wrap oneself in an  kaffiyeh, and scream about Gaza. Take rapper Macklemore as a prime case study.

[“Kufiyah is the name of the city of Kufa in Iraq not Palestine ]

Having spent years relegated to the margins of mainstream music, his career experienced a sudden revival through his release of “Hind’s Hall”—a track explicit in its targeting of Israel—climaxing in a string of “Free Palestine” benefit concerts across Europe. High-profile figures like Hozier, Paloma Faith, and Greta Thunberg rushed to join the spectacle, securing viral headlines, sold-out arenas, and a renewed coating of moral purity.

The underlying hypocrisy of this elite ecosystem was famously unmasked by comedian Ricky Gervais during his opening monologue at the 77th Annual Golden Globe Awards. Facing an audience of Hollywood’s most prominent executives and actors, Gervais explicitly targeted the industry’s habit of preaching human dignity while pocketing millions from corporate empires built on overseas exploitation:

“Apple roared into the TV game with The Morning Show, a superb drama about the importance of dignity and doing the right thing, made by a company that runs sweatshops in China. Well, you say you’re woke but the companies you work for in China — unbelievable. Apple, Amazon, Disney. If ISIS started a streaming service you’d call your agent, wouldn’t you? So if you do win an award tonight, don’t use it as a platform to make a political speech. You’re in no position to lecture the public about anything. You know nothing about the real world. Most of you spent less time in school than Greta Thunberg. So if you win, come up, accept your little award, thank your agent, and your God and fuck off, OK?”

— Ricky Gervais, 77th Annual Golden Globe Awards Opening Monologue

Gervais’s remarks pierce the core of contemporary celebrity activism.

The very actors, musicians, and influencers weeping over Gaza stream their content, sign their contracts, and collect their checks from tech and entertainment conglomerates that rely on sweatshops in China and the hazardous, cobalt-mining pits of the Democratic Republic of the Congo—where thousands of children as young as seven tunnel through toxic earth for subsistence wages.

Yet, there are no stadium benefit tours, no viral anthems, and no passionate acceptance speeches for the children of the Congo or the millions displaced and starved by regional conflicts in Sudan. A fading career cannot be rescued from the dustbin of pop-culture irrelevance by highlighting Sub-Saharan humanitarian catastrophes, because those crises lack a Jewish antagonist. The performance is not about protecting children; it is about self-preservation. By using the “Pallywood” public relations apparatus to target the world’s sole Jewish state, the cultural elite manufactures an easy, viral currency that brings them fame and fortune, allowing them to lecture the public on morality while remaining safely insulated by the corporate empires funding their lifestyles.

The Myth of Universal Compassion: Because ” they ” care about the children of Gaza “!

When a  conflict can be structurally maintained as a permanent source of revenue and political leverage is the most cynical realities of modern geopolitics. The “cow that never stops providing milk”.

The modern industry of global empathy operates on a selective, deeply cynical formula: to maximize attention, trend on social media, and secure institutional funding, the narrative requires a Jewish villain.

For years, a self-appointed vanguard of “concerned citizens,” Hollywood celebrities, and highly paid executives at international non-governmental organizations (NGOs) have monopolized the cultural megaphone. They weep over what they reflexively term a “genocide” in Gaza, loudly proclaiming that their obsession is pure, driven solely by a universal love for children and an unyielding defense of human rights. But history, raw numbers, and the cold text of international law expose this narrative as a sham. It is a modern manifestation of antisemitism at its lowest common denominator—the socially acceptable redirection of ancient blood lie-belts under the modern banner of human rights advocacy.

The hypocrisy is laid bare when comparing the relentless, theatrical performance over Gaza to the absolute, deafening silence surrounding historical and present atrocities that actually meet the legal definition of genocide. The world has simply found its favorite, familiar scapegoat.

By placing a hyper-focused magnifying glass over Israel, the international community indulges in a historical sickness: projecting collective sins onto the Jewish state, while the true empires of resource-driven destruction quietly collect their dividends in the dark.

The Fundraising Asymmetry: NGO Profiteering on Middle Eastern Escalations

Humanitarian empathy is heavily subject to market forces, and multi-billion-dollar NGOs have long understood that they cannot easily raise massive funds from global donor bases for conflicts that the public finds uninteresting. To sustain their institutional weight, these organizations leverage highly visible geopolitical conflicts to maximize revenue, utilizing a sophisticated public relations apparatus to invent narratives of unique, unparalleled villainy in Gaza while leaving catastrophic African atrocities unfunded and ignored. The data mapping the allocations and revenue of these organizations exposes a massive disparity in how money flows to Middle Eastern escalations versus Sub-Saharan African crises.

For instance, Doctors Without Borders (MSF International) allocated approximately €121 million to its Palestine operations out of its massive budget, an amount nearly equal to the €135 million it allocated to the entire nation of Sudan, where an active, multi-faction civil war has forced over 10 million people into displacement and engineered a catastrophic famine.

Even more glaring is the hyper-fixation of Oxfam International.

Oxfam Canada released an expansive, highly publicized accountability report capturing global headlines by demanding a staggering $71.4 billion reconstruction fund specifically for Gaza. Yet, across Oxfam’s broader international reporting, no equivalent multi-billion-dollar global advocacy campaigns or emergency fundraising drives exist to match that scale for the millions facing systemic hunger and massacres in the Democratic Republic of Congo.

Real genocides and famines in Sub-Saharan Africa do not sell tickets, they do not trigger viral social media campaigns, and they cannot be monetized to pull fading celebrities out of the dustbin of irrelevance.

Activists like Macklemore can command sold-out arenas and widespread media adulation for hosting high-profile “Palestine Concerts” and releasing dedicated protest tracks. They do not write anthems for the Congo or Sudan because there is no social capital to be extracted by calling out corporate neo-colonialism or African regional warfare.

The global industrial complex of moral outrage relies entirely on the unique premium placed on Jewish villainy; it invents a genocide framing because condemning Israel brings immense fame, fortune, and structural donations, while leaving the world’s true, non-Jewish victims completely unmourned.

The Declassified Cruelty not  widely reported by the  “people who care about the  children “!

The British Calculus in Biafra:[A real Genocide equal to the  entire  population of Gaza  1967-1970 ]

It’s  not too late  to Bring the British and the Nigerians  to trial for crimes  against  humanity :  Under international and customary law, genocide has no statute of limitations, meaning perpetrators can be investigated, prosecuted, and brought to trial at any time regardless of how many years have passed since the crimes were committed. [1, 2] Under Article III of the Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide, the following acts are punishable whether committed by rulers, public officials, or private individuals: [1, 2]

The historical baseline for what actual, state-sanctioned genocide looks like can be found in the declassified British cabinet archives regarding the Biafran blockade (1967–1970). When the Igbo people attempted to secede from Nigeria following brutal ethnic pogroms, Great Britain covertly armed and diplomatic protected the Nigerian military regime to safeguard its massive oil interests.

The ensuing total land, sea, and air blockade engineered the starvation of over two million civilians, primarily children.

The declassified memos reveal a horrifying lack of humanitarian concern from British officials. In a direct communication to Prime Minister Harold Wilson, British Commonwealth Secretary George Thomson explicitly defended the policy of blockading food, writing that while the humanitarian consequences were deeply regrettable, the direct defense of British economic interests was paramount. He noted that the political and economic risks of abandoning the Nigerian federation outweighed the moral cost.

Furthermore, British diplomats openly conspired to dismiss the rising death toll to shield themselves from public scrutiny. Sir David Hunt, the British High Commissioner in Lagos, famously wrote in confidential cables that reports of widespread famine were highly exaggerated by relief agencies running a “numbers game” for sympathy. Top Nigerian military officials openly declared that starvation was a legitimate weapon of war, confirming that they had no intention of feeding an enemy population before total surrender. The international community, led by Western empires, entirely ignored these documented admissions of genocidal intent because the perpetrators controlled the global energy supply.

The Asymmetry of Law: Urban Combat Metrics vs. Western Interventions

This profound hypocrisy extends directly into the halls of international law, where the core principles of the Law of Armed Conflict (LOAC)—specifically the doctrine of military necessity—are applied with explicit, asymmetric bias depending on whether the combatant is a Western NATO power or the state of Israel. When Western coalitions engage in warfare, civilian collateral damage is treated as a routine, forgivable byproduct of modern urban combat.

A rigorous examination of modern military history reveals the staggering double standard applied to civilian-to-combatant casualty ratios.

During the 2016–2017 Battle of Mosul waged by a US-led coalition against ISIS, an estimated 9,000 to 11,000 civilians were killed in an urban environment where ISIS, much like Hamas, used human shields. The resulting civilian-to-combatant ratio was approximately 2:1 or higher. During the Second Battle of Fallujah in 2004, the US military heavily bombarded a dense city center, displacing the entire population and leaving thousands of civilians dead alongside militants. In both instances, the international legal community accepted these grim outcomes under the framework of military necessity, acknowledging that fighting a deeply entrenched terrorist force in a built-up area makes civilian losses functionally unavoidable.

However, when Israel engages in a defensive war, the international legal community discards these standard precedents entirely.

Israel confronts an adversary, Hamas, that explicitly rejects the laws of war, utilizing a comprehensive, subterranean tunnel infrastructure built beneath schools, mosques, and hospitals, purposefully transforming their own civilian population into human shields to maximize casualties for the cameras. Despite operating in the dense urban environment of Gaza, Israel has implemented unprecedented precautionary targeting measures—including millions of evacuation texts, direct phone calls, and roof-knocking protocols—and actively facilitated the delivery of massive quantities of food, fuel, and medical aid into an active war zone.

Yet, the International Court of Justice (ICJ) continuously levies aggressive provisional measures against Jerusalem, treating standard defensive urban maneuvers as prima facie evidence of intent to destroy a population. This extreme double standard reveals that the modern legal definition of genocide has been completely untethered from objective metrics.

When Western superpowers flatten entire regions to secure economic oil assets or enforce regime change, their operations are categorized under “military necessity” and legally protected. But when the Jewish state exercises its basic right to self-defense following a cross-border massacre of 1,200 citizens, the definition of military necessity is rewritten to ensure that Israel is permanently cast as an international criminal.

From the 2005 Oasis to Hamas Destruction

The claim that Israel has harboured an enduring intent to commit genocide in Gaza is completely dismantled by recent history. In August 2005, Israel executed its complete unilateral disengagement from the Gaza Strip.

In a deeply painful internal process, the Israeli military forcibly evicted over 8,000 Jewish residents, dismantling 21 thriving agricultural settlements in the Gush Katif region. As documented by veteran journalist Tom Gross in his historical archive Exodus from Gaza, Jewish settlers had constructed some of the most state-of-the-art agricultural facilities in the world. They possessed vast, sophisticated complexes of high-tech greenhouses that exported flowers, fruits, and organic produce across the globe, comprising 15% of Israel’s entire agricultural exports and offering employment to thousands of local Palestinians.

Hoping to provide the Palestinian Authority with an immediate economic engine, wealthy international philanthropists—including Bill Gates and former World Bank President James Wolfensohn—spent $14 million of their own money to purchase these greenhouses from the departing Israelis, gifting them intact to the local population. The response was immediate and telling. Within hours of the final Israeli soldier leaving the territory, Palestinian mobs ransacked, looted, and utterly destroyed the greenhouses. While Palestinian police officers stood by and watched, the crowd stripped the structures of their glass, computerized irrigation systems, timers, and electronic wiring.Hamas, which took absolute control of the strip shortly thereafter, understood a fundamental truth of the humanitarian industry: they could not grift off a thriving, independent, and peaceful Palestinian population.

If Gaza became a prosperous agricultural oasis exporting food to Europe, the narrative of victimization would collapse, and the international aid billions would dry up.

Instead, Hamas purposefully converted the territory into a garrison state, digging up leftover irrigation infrastructure to forge rockets and embedding military assets under residential streets. They systematically manufactured a perpetual crisis, knowing that the “concerned citizens” of the world, the fading celebrities, and the NGO profiteers would eagerly buy the lies, fund their tunnels, and blame the Jews. You do not get to claim the moral high ground for a selective empathy that only activates when a Jew fires back.

“To call the defensive war in Gaza a ‘genocide’ is to engage in a complete mathematical fraud.

Far from being destroyed, the Palestinian population has steadily grown over decades, and during the heights of this conflict, wealthy Hamas-linked operators extorted desperate families, charging up to $10,000 per person in bribery fees to cross the Egyptian border. A true genocide does not feature a population boom, nor does it feature the victims’ own leaders running a multi-million-dollar human trafficking extortion ring at the border.”

Hamas spent decades diverting billions in international humanitarian aid away from civilian infrastructure to build a massive, high-tech subterranean fortress. The grim reality of their war strategy was explicitly stated by their own leadership: the tunnels were built exclusively to protect Hamas fighters, while the civilian population was left intentionally exposed on the surface to serve as human shields for the global media cameras.

The international community has manufactured a unique historical category for Palestinians: they are the only ‘forever refugees’ in human history who have systematically amassed billions of dollars in personal wealth for their top political echelon.

While actual displaced populations in Africa starve in absolute obscurity, Hamas leadership has transformed international victimhood into the most lucrative corporate enterprise on earth.”

“You don’t get famous or revive a dying pop-culture career by reporting on a real genocide when it is perpetrated by Western empires for oil. But inflating a defensive urban war involving Israel into an industrialized extermination campaign offers immediate, toxic cultural currency for fading musicians and fundraising NGOs.” “Multi-billion-dollar NGOs like Oxfam and Doctors Without Borders have discovered that humanitarian crises are subject to market forces.

They channel hundreds of millions of dollars into Gaza campaigns because the unique premium placed on Jewish villainy drives donor engagement, while leaving the catastrophic slaughter of millions in Africa completely unfunded in the dark.”
