  1. If GOP congressional leadership were not preoccupied with corporate welfare, a motion similar to this would be proposed in order to smoke out the Democrats during an election year. Obama is gung ho for BDS, so send anti-BDS legislation to his desk and challenge him to veto it.

Even if he did it would not register with liberal Gentiles or neutral Jews, but normal people would notice.

  2. @ lsatenstein:

To be sure whoever cares about Jews and Israel rightly should applaud the overwhelming majority of the house which of course includes liberals for having overwhelmingly passed this conservative anti-BDS motion.

Noteworthy is that Stephane Dion, Minister of Foreign Affairs, in spite of coming down on the side of the motion, spoke in a waffling manner, claiming LIberals would have worded the motion differently. Dion’s support for the motion was taken to have been grudgingly given. See: http://www.cjnews.com/news/canada/anti-bds-motion-backed-by-liberals-tories-in-parliament

Liberal support for this motion however, does not define the new Liberal policy as regards Israel and Palestinians.

Indeed Dion has already made a number of public statements that indicate that the direction the new Trudeau Liberal government is going as regards their Mid East, Israel and Palestine policies is to revert to the so called traditional Liberal balanced mid east policy before Harper that was perpetually balanced on a tilt against Israel.

  3. @ lsatenstein:
Perhaps because of their mistaken belief that they may be “Muslims”!!!
French Canadians are very “Catholic” and a lot of Muslims are immigrating from French ex-colonies.

  4. Canadian Parliament voted 250 vs 50 against BDS. Is the liberal party less supportive than the previous government for Israel?

Regarding French Quebecers. The are very very welcoming of Sephardic Jews. My neighbours and my wife’s family are Sephardic.

good point, I hadn’t considered that.

Trudeau who already has given Canadians good reason to doubt his leadership

You are an exquisite master of understatement

Trudeau = Bugs Bunny with a Kalashnikov and Wiley Coyote with a Nuclear Briefcase.

    @ lsatenstein:
Your unfairly villifying Harper and praising Trudeau who already has given Canadians good reason to doubt his leadership and be concerned for our nation both at home and abroad because of him, is just about as off the wall as Max’s ill conceived almost incoherent rant.

      Bill Narvey

Don’t burden the poor little mouse’s brain with words.

“Incoherent” ?? How would you like be to be more coherent?
Is there something about the meaning of “frack” that eludes you?
Or do you also have trouble making sense of the words when they are put together in ways you have never seen before. book?
It’s so unfair isn’t it, when they didn’t show you all the combinations of words and explain them back in school days.
    ..
Now when you have to think about things..what can you do?
Really what can you do when there are no Coles Notes to help you out?

  8. “Un réquisitoire” against the whole of the WESTERN world!
    French Canada:
    “French Connection”, anybody remembers?
Wherever they go they bring their own ANTISEMITISM! From France and from the ex-French colonies of the Maghreb.
The Muslim world sells HATE and the Western world PAYS for it besides their own hate.
BDS a criminal enterprise comparable to a cancer for which we need targeted therapy.

Max Did you even finish grade 7? Your very vitriolic, full of vinegar and uric acid,

Thank you for the compliments. As they are coming from a libtard agitator , I feel very proud. I have made a contribution to the betterment of humanity.

You have no arguments, nothing to say , nothing to listen to. You are here to frack with us and contribute to Canadian genocide and my response to you is: Frack you.
You are the propaganda equivalent of a Jihadist Muslim running with scissors. You need the written equivalent of “two in the chest and one in the head”.
Frack you, frack you : that’s two in the chest
Frack you : that’s one in the head.

  10. Max Did you even finish grade 7? Your very vitriolic, full of vinegar and uric acid, attacking a man because you loved the Conservative party. Thank Gd Harper is gone from view and power. Canadians could not stand Harper. We are giving Trudeau and the liberals an opportunity to repair the harm that the Conservatives have done to Canada,

You attack a man without knowing anything about him. Anthony has contributed more to public service and the Jewish community than have many others. What are your accomplishments? Have you even run a big business managed a city? He has been re-elected repeatedly by acclamation. What is your claim to fame?

“Liberal InJustice and InHuman Rights of Barbarians” you mean.
HRC man, don’t make me laugh, man.
I’ve been laughing all day at CBC..

I had two laughs today from CBC radio:

1 They talked about the”shooters” and Apple Corp for 20 minutes and never once said “Islam” or “Terrorists”…it was only “shooters”.
Just two crazy lonely people in Love I guess, and of course “America made them do it.”

2 The Gitmo prisoners released to Uruguay stayed at home, refused to work, and beat their foreign Uraguayan brides.
HA HA HA What else did they expect!
They were devout Mainstream Mid-East Muslims!!!! Of course they beat their wives the Koran says to do so ..and of course they refused to dirty their hands – terrorism is easy work for high pay.

(But the CBC guy played the violin for them saying how stressed out they were that they had to beat their wives etc …idjuuut!

    Part of the story here:

    http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2959989/Uruguay-president-says-former-Guantanamo-prisoners-lazy-middle-class-resettled-country-turned-jobs.html

CBC is a laugh a minute. Full of black humour -they got a comedian named Trudeau running the show.

  12. @ lsatenstein:

You are a known libtard agitator, nothing you say is of any importance.. The Radical Neo-Liberal Islamic Fascist Alliance Party is committing genocide against Canadians and committing national suicide.
Go to Allah and collect your virgins or whatever is the Neo-Liberal equivalent, you piece of Islamifying excrement.

  13. Housfathers private life is none of your business. He is intelligent, pro Israel, a former mayor of Cote Saint-Luc, Quebec. CSL is 90% Jewish and a good mix of ashkanaz and sephardim families. Anthony was honoured to have been selected by his colleagues as Chairman of the House of Commons Standing Committee on Justice and Human Rights and he looks forward to following in Irwin Cotler’s footsteps on the committee.

  14. The new Neo-Liberal Party reminds me of the Lumberjack song in the “new” Canada.

    He’s a liberal, and he’s okay,
He plays all night and he sleeps all day.

    Mounties:

He cuts down trees, he skips and jumps,
He likes to press wild flowers.
    He puts on women’s clothing
    And hangs around…. In bars?

    CHORUS

I chop down trees, I wear high heels,
    Suspenders and a bra.
    I wish I’d been a girlie
    Just like my dear mama.

  15. He’s a Liberal , eh?
When does Trudeau have him shot?
Oh I forgot… time distortion , I have time travel lag from future projections … he gets arrested and shot for thought crimes ordered by the acting Caliph, Trudeau, after the state extends it’s powers in the coming civil war.

  16. Bravo to MP Housefather. One little criticism – He says in passing at 7:23 of the speech that Israel is not blameless in this conflict with Palestinians.

I hate it when a person passionately delivers a great speech defending Israel and attacking Israel’s enemies including anti-Israel/antisemitic groups and movements including BDS, feels the need to engage in a bit of mea culpa on the part of Israel as regards blameworthiness. I often wonder if they feel compelled to do that to show they are fair and balanced and not just totally biased in favor of Israel, unlike the screaming anti-Israel antisemitic BDS’ers are totally biased against Israel and Jews.

When such pro-Israel speaker does so in a vague general statement in passing as did Housefather without specificity, they give some credence to all the accusations blaming Israel for the lack of peace, for Palestinians not having their own land and state and Palestinian misery.

Pro-Israel advocates must be very cautious in this regard. If such advocate is going to blame Israel for anything, it is prudent to be very specific and precise.

Other than that, it was a great speech. The anti-BDS motion overwhelmingly passed. Notably, NDP leader Thomas Mulcair voted against the motion. I wonder what prompted that, but we will have to leave that for another day.

  17. @ lsatenstein:
    I’ll keep that in mind.

By the way I wrote to congratulate him on his speech and added him to the list for the Israpundit Daily Digest. I was very close with a number of Ministers in the former Harper government.

  18. The Anti-BDS movement passed in Canada by overwhelming majority, partly in response to Anthony’s speech in Parliament.

    Anthony assumes new responsibilities

On February 16th, I was honoured to have been selected by my colleagues as Chairman of the House of Commons Standing Committee on Justice and Human Rights and I look forward to following in Irwin Cotler’s footsteps on the committee.

By the way, Anthony is my member of parliament.
