PELONI: Yishai Fleisher offers some important context to Min. Itamar Ben-Gvir‘s many outrageous statements for which he has been chastised by friends and foes of Israel. He argues that we should understand that this is similar to the crocadile moat surrounding the prisons containing the terrorists. Frankly, I always thought the crocadile law was off based and silly as there were no attempted escapes from the prisons and certainly no actual escapes from the prisons, but Fleisher explains the purpose in this and other statements and gestures made by Ben-Gvir which receive significant criticisms reflect the fact that he is not speaking or addressing the West. Instead of mollycoddling Western sentiments, these statements and actions are directed at the East, at threatening and managing the threat which exists from would be terrorists and regional enemies.
