  1. @Felix

Many Americans are seeing through Biden and Zelensky.

Really? How do you know? Nobody talks about Ukraine anymore. I have to go to Israpundit – and occasionally Tucker Carlson – for news. 😀

  2. Sebastien re the Court

Many Americans are seeing through Biden and Zelensky.

They distrust Zelensky because they distrust the Democratic Party

So they will distrust things like this and see it as a trick.

  3. KYIV, Dec 13 (Reuters) – President Volodymyr Zelenskiy hailed his dissolution on Tuesday of a Kyiv court as evidence Ukraine can fight to end a history of corruption and Russia’s invasion at the same time.

“This story has drawn to a close,” he said as he announced he had signed a law liquidating the Kyiv District Administrative Court, which Ukrainian anti-corruption authorities had compared to a criminal organization and whose chairman was hit with U.S. sanctions Dec. 9.

    https://www.reuters.com/world/europe/zelenskiy-shuts-court-says-ukraine-can-fight-graft-russia-same-time-2022-12-14/

  4. I would like to see it discussed more clearly. Political parties are banned. Leadership are jailed. Terrorist acts take place. Russian soldiers are murdered after surrender. The Christian Church is closed and persecuted. This all comes out in snippets in the Western Media and then hidden. The pattern was set in Maidan February 2014 when the Fascists DELIBERATELY shot their own. The weak position of Israel media on the activities of the Fascists in Ukraine (which is the whole government) obscures that the Fascists in Palestine can be employing the same tactic against say the shooting of the Christian Arab reporter (blame on Israel as the Ukrainian Fascists kill just like that to blame Russia)

  5. Sebastien the Jews of Kherson should be offering prayers in synagogue for a Russian victory every day. These Ukrainian Fascists will one way or another eliminate them. What a tragedy so many people don’t bother studying history.

  6. PELONI-

Yes true he was anti-Catholic; he was a great boyo that lad, you may recall he abducted two popes and that one died in France, and the other was held in captivity for years, somewhere in Italy, away from the Vatican, I just can’t recall where.

AND, oddly, ..his mother’s brother, Fesch, I think a step or half brother was a Church dignitary, later a Cardinal. Nap didn’t like him and they were not friends although Fesch had to represent The Emperor when asked.

Maybe a childhood event involving Fesch caused him to be anti-Datholic, although a person of his multiple talents and vast intelligence might naturally despise clergy of all denominations.

One of his sayings was “they invented religion so as to keep the poor in their place, for without it they’d tear the nobility asunder”.. Paraphrased slightly.

But somewhere, somehow, he seemed to have a slight affinity towards the Jews. I know it was said that he overestimated their wealth and influence,, but I don’t attribute this as a cause. I think there was more to it, although I don’t know what….!! Of course he was also a Muslim when it suited him in Egypt, but never was are pretended to be a Jew.

  7. @Edgar
You are quite correct, it is far more than a blog site. I am dumbfounded as to how long it must have taken him to write and detail all that I am reading, having only begun the first part. Your mention of Napoleon’s desire to ally with the Jews prior to his political rise is a very telling point to consider. Honestly I don’t think he ever came off the anti-catholic bent of his youth, but it became less useful to his goals.

  8. PELONI-

Yes, Hertz is eminently qualified, and as I said, it’s MUCH more than a “blog”.

As you get further into the essay, almost book length, the immensity of depth will astound you. How the documentation was uncovered must have been like an archaeological dig for the Tutankamen burial site. Or Schlweimann uncovering Ancient Troy..

I have never come across such fine detail in anything but the descriptions of some Medical experiments.

The discovery by Semmelweiss, great and wonderful that it was (the poor martyred guy) pales by comparison with the detail being revealed.

What I noted at the beginning was that Napoleon, still a recently promoted general, whilst still in France, perhaps even in the early Italian campaigns, was already thinking that he would restore the Jews to Palestine

So, for him, it could have had more than a political meaning only..
He was very anti- priest, even anti-religion, then,, and he was not alone. The whole country had anti-clerical fever, certainly about any above the humble country village cur-e. I think religion was outlawed.

  9. @Edgar
Actually, I am short bit thru the first part and it is a fascinating read. Thank you for sharing it.
Here is the link for the first part: Part 1
Here is the link for the second part: Part 2

A very interesting site beyond this two part article as well.

  10. I FOUND IT..

    I FOUND IT.

LOOK UP ” Audi Alteram Partem”…”Jews, Napoleon and the Ottoman Empire The 1797-99 Proclamations to the Jews ……… Be prepared for an education in early pragmatic Zionism. And a torrent of facts that you never knew.

It’s presumably by Allan Z. Hertz, who runs this “blog”, which is far, far more than a blog. He has top notch qualifications.

I hope you enjoy it ..all who can struggle through it as I did. It’ll take you a week, and well spent.

i’s appreciate your comments on it afterwards, when you’ve recovered.

  11. What gave any one the idea that I hated the British….. There is no one who could have cared less about hating anyone. And I certainly did not denigrate Napoleon for his efforts to restore the Jews to Palestine, political though they may have been.

I have read extensively all about his motives the Great Sanhedrin, it’s composition, his goals end decisions and the end results.

I have books on the subject. Just recently I sent a Massive half book length essay on the whole activities of Napoleon during his Egyptian and Jewish episode. The depth was enormous, every tiny detail mentioned. But it’s buried deep in my “sent” box and I wasted over a half hour before I gave up.

I may find it yet, and rub your nose in it.

  12. @Felix, Edgar I also used to hate the British, you know. When I was a little boy, sometime before I was 9, not sure when, one summer, I remembering arguing with an older gentile boy (goy boy :D) about who were the worst tyrants in history and he said it was the Germans but I, correctly, argued that it was the British because, well, I’d never heard of the Germans – I must have assumed lederhosen was a Hungarian device for torturing little boys in the summer – much less that they had murdered my grandparents and all my European relatives – and because I had just learned about the American Revolution and the Boston Tea Party, and do you know what those monsters, the British, did? They taxed tea!!!!!

    “Oh, the humanity!”

    dhttps://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/oh,_the_humanity

    😀

  13. @Edgar Oh, so now you credit Napoleon for his Zionism whereas you poo-pooed it before. 😀

Are we doomed to be like the two debating philosophy professors in the tuberculosis sanitorium on the eve of WWI who keep exchanging positions? in Thomas Mann’s “The Magic Mountain?”

  14. @ Michael

The US jet engine manufacturer will halt the manufacturing of jet turbine blades in Israel.
    https://en.globes.co.il/en/article-pratt-whitney-to-close-bti-nahariya-plant-900-layoffs-1001431651

Israel has to spend the US aid purchasing planes it could manufacture itself from American companies. Logically, this American-owned factory is probably located in Israel because it makes replacement parts for those planes and it would be more expensive to mail them from the US.

Jet turbine blades unprofitable? Really? Is that a product that ever goes out of style?

  16. Hi, Sebastien. You said,

@ Michael The strike is in response to the layoffs not its cause according to the article you posted.

That’s an odd-sounding labor dispute. Will a strike convince the company not to lay people off? Oh well, you asked, and I tried. I have no idea, why Pratt & Whitney is shutting down the factory. Obviously, they don’t think it’s a profitable operation.

  17. I knew that but those are very good sources. I’m aware also of Alan Johnson.

As Sherman says there are 2 narratives here. The narrative of lies and the narrative of historical truth

But also you can become overcome with data.

The task is to CHANGE THE WORLD not just describing it

  18. @Felix

British Christian Zionism (Part 1): George Eliot’s Daniel Deronda…The impact of George Eliot’s 1876 novel Daniel Deronda was central to the coalescence of the first Zionist movement, Hovevei Zion, in the early 1880s. Later, pioneer Zionist Nahum Sokolow wrote: ‘In the Valhalla of the Jewish people, among the tokens of homage offered by the genius of centuries, Daniel Deronda will take its place as the proudest testimony to the English recognition of the Zionist idea.’ In this essay, in honour of the 200th anniversary of Eliot’s birth, Philip Earl Steele examines the influence of the novel on the nascent Zionist movement and locates it within the wider movement of 19th century British Christian Zionism.

    INTRODUCTION

In the introduction to her recent lecture-series on Daniel Deronda by George Eliot, Harvard Professor of Yiddish and Comparative Literature Ruth R. Wisse stated: ‘Twenty years before the rise of Zionism, [Eliot] put forth the idea that Jews had to reclaim their national sovereignty in the Land of Israel’.

Theodor Herzl, however, speaking at the close of the First Zionist Congress held in Basel on 31 August 1897, even before he gratefully acknowledged the pioneering role of many Jewish Zionists, said: ‘We must, moreover, thank the Christian Zionists.’

Indeed, Zionism, understood as an idea coupled with effort on behalf of creating a Jewish state in Palestine, came into fruition in the early decades of the 19th century among British Evangelical Christians, as Israeli scholar Anita Shapira has stressed. Though among such Christians (and Jews) this aim was known as ‘Restorationism’, in keeping with Herzl’s own usage (and Max Nordau’s remark from 1905 – ‘Zionism is a new word for a very old thing’), I typically observe the longstanding practice of using the term ‘Zionism’ and its kindred forms in regard to the entire period preceding Herzl….

  19. That last comment I forgot to address it to Sebastien. To Sebastien if you look at a thread which is the term for a number of tweets strung together

You will see that it deals with a big issue, very big, on biodiversity, and a very big conference in Montreal.

(I am known in Twitter under my name all one word @FelixQuigley)

My points are unanswerable. They are pure logic.

They will be noticed and they make a bold statement.

Now for Israel…if they wish. I could refer them to the logic of Sherman today.

  20. Balfour lost his struggle for Zionism in Britain. This is overlooked.

Many Irish supported Israel until 1967, for example Nell McCafferty

    Then what happened?

I do not agree fundamentally with Martin Sherman but his article today on Two Narratives is elucidatory.

There’s room for logic especially among the youth of either religious background.

And it’s rarely the main issue except in diehards usually hardened Antisemites.

That gives time for some to absorb truths of history.

In history the Irish have much in common with Jews. That’s objectively true.

  21. @Felix who was British. And there were others, The British were a mixed bag. The Irish don’t sound mixed, at all, the Catholics, anyway. Or was there an Irish Lord Balfour?

  22. Sebastien

Of course Ireland is filled with Antisemitism and we know the poison has been laid down over millennia not just centuries by the Church and Churches

But Irish also have a hatred of Britain and that is a good thing.

And Britain has been enemy to the Jews. After all they also destroyed Lord Balfour.

So political work is not as hopeless as you think.

  23. “Along with the racist BDS organisation the legislators of the Republic of Ireland tried to criminalise trade with Israel .
Ireland have the most Jew hating Parliament in the world apart from Iran
They were the only country in the world to send condolences on the death of Hitler and the only country in the world to punish those few Irish who fought for the allies against Hitler
On their return to Ireland they lost their rights to pensions and were barred from working for Government, Government contractors and suppliers
Even today Ireland have numerous memorials on public display to Nazi collaborators
A grassroots campaign is challenging the Irish Jew hatred
    #BROIGAS
Boycott Republic Of Ireland Goods And Services”

Just popped up on my news feed from A group called Jewish Activist Network by Peter Baum who writes for Daily Blitz.

  25. They did this because the firm was Jewish. As regards Molloy and Sinn Fein this is total disinformation and it proceeds to breaking the bonds of human society.

I rather think and like to think there’s massive ignorance involved. This is not personal but systematic.

    Your thoughts are wonderfully valuable.

  26. FELIX-

Thanks for the info. That Molloy animal is toxic for Jews but great for Jew haters. Full of lies and deception. Is he really so ignorant of the facts or is it the usual, Anti-Semitism on steroids.

Not a mention of the murdering in public streets of innocent Jewish people old ladies babies, kids, kidnapping and slaughtering. etc.
There seems ready support for him. Has anyone ever shown him the TRUE facts of those very same incidents, which by the way, he just generalises with no specific cases. A Rabble Rouser, liar hypocrite, gangster

We had a factory at Glenavy, and because of huge losses I, home to see the family, was sent up to do something. I did “something”.. took me a week… The staff, 24 parasites, all lived in the village, its only industry.
(my family were all business people never “thinking out of the box” I was the oddball member-with a criminal mind ..ahem).

I pretended to leave for Dublin…But. at lunchtime I parked around a bend, keeping the laneway entrance in view. They went home for lunch and NEVER returned. They were being paid full time.. Phoned daily from Dublin, one person was left to answer phones. The head hand would always be up fixing a roof etc. and would phone right back. The “keeper” would get down to the village, come back with the Head, and phone Dublin. etc.. A whole, cunning scam, went on for a few years..
Me being there a whole week drove them crazy.

My report was eye opening, and we cut down to 4 full time employees working a full day and began to make profit for the first time in 4 years ownership..

They tried to kill me twice. Loosened the nuts inside my hub caps. I went how to Dublin on weekends at about 60+ mph. I’d hear a rattle. get out shake the tyres. but the car weight…. ..so nothing seemed loose.

The holes in the rims wore completely through just at a miraculous time. I got to Dublin about 1 am, stopped at the traffic light at top of Clanbrassil St, and the car collapsed. The garage people said they had never seen anything like it.

They tried it again but I opened the hub caps and fixed them. Got the Garda and there was ructions with Labour Courts etc.

But we won. No attempted murder charges were made, just that we knew exactly who and what they were. Jew-haters, swindlers, would be murderers.

    Lots of “fun”…..

  27. Edgar

You asked about Jews in the North. Some people have been exploring this and I will send the details.

Some Jews in Belfast tried to defend Zionism and Israel against these later lies.

But that is a hard ask.

Sinn Fein controls the left here and the following video emerged this morning.

Molloy is at the top of Sinn Fein. He’s probably speaking in a local county town, like Tyrone

Not that hard to defeat but needed a party and challenge these issues openly

    https://twitter.com/FrancieMolloy/status/1599878986158395392?t=Vj7ABhXsSz5arMs-WtbrLg&s=19

  28. FELIX-

I had NO idea he was so involved. In Dublin, in my time, he took little or no interest that I’d ever heard of in anything. Quiet, kept to himself, as I said< I crept around him softly, because I was closely involved with his very unconventional daughter.

    Thank you for the info.

Do you know anything about the Belfast Community at all. I knew many of them, some reaching high positions later in life. My dear Mother's first cousin was married to the decades long President of the Community and he was also a decades -long JP,. Barney Hurewitz. They were wonderful people I met them all, several sons and 2 daughters, when we went up there for a daughter's wedding.

And I had other cousins there with whom I often stayed.

  29. Edgar

Con Levanthal was as a young man of about 22 on the Zionist Commission to Palestine in 1918, an absolutely historical commission. Picture is in Wikipedia. Weizman in white suit front centre. Con very middle third row back.

  30. Edgar

I looked him up. If I remember correctly he died in late 70s.

The fact he helped Beckett and Joyce will mean a life memorable and not wasted.

He and Heaney therefore would have just missed each other.

Heaney was his own man, and Kavanagh brought him through his personal reflections back into his own childhood memories. Which is pretty well his essence.

I do not think the British Christian Zionists of Balfour have been given enough appreciation but then later he (Lord Balfour) was eclipsed and British cratered that road that Jews like Ben Gurion had to tread.

The idea of Jews living apart is what I follow.

That seems now not possible in present world setup.

Basically I would advocate here in Ireland a party based strong program of education on historical matters, as in decade by decade. Educate a cadre in what really happened down the long road.

Not doctrination just certainty on truth – like a science.

  31. @FELIX-

I’m sure you can look him up in WIKI. He’s sure to be there somewhere.
He must have had quite a reputation, unknown to me; certainly astonished me. This quiet, self contained, gentle, white haired man around whom I used to walk rather quietly…..!!!

  32. Edgar

Con is a man after my own heart. In all ultra repressed societies you always find the opposite. And the old Ireland was very repressed Voila Con. How interesting.

Although Mother Church ruled hard in those days in Ireland today it’s far worse.

I am in conflict with every homo sapiens in Ireland today. Need true friends.

I’m thinking of trying some YouTube videos.

There’s some very peculiar fraud about Irish politicians.

And the Palestinians is close to the centre of it

PS your ex girlfriend was wonderful

  33. @Felix-

No I didn’t know h, Heard of him of course from the father of my girl friend Prof. Con Leventhal, He was a friend of all the major literary and acting personalities in that golden period, like Lennox Robinson and many others.. He was a close friend of Samuel. Beckett and the very young James Joyce. He had published essays on them.,.

He retired to Paris , On a trip to Italy I stopped in Paris to visit him.

He brought me out to a bistro and we had a drink. He was “entertaining ” me. I was a guest. He called over a beautiful flower girl complete with flower tray. They conversed privately for a few minutes. then he turned to me and said, “It’s all arranged”. Asking what he meant, he said that “.you can go home with her for the night, her husband will sleep with friends.” ….She was in ” the business”

He was VERY “advanced” a typical product of the first half of the 20th century Dublin scene. I was embarrassed.. the father of my old girl friend , (she married my first cousin) my former English and French professor….practically family…I declined with thanks.

He thought I was a “wimp”… I was damned glad to get away from him.

  34. Edgar

    Fascinating memories

I get the feeling of cliques and circles within circles

The obvious note to make here is the deadening fist of the Catholic Church

I wi find out more about the man I mentioned.

In the meantime have you any memory of Patrick or Paddy Kavanagh,.a poet?

  35. @Edgar G.

I agree that we should stop this discussion.

The gist of the matter is:

You think that Judaism is defined by religion only (say hello to Smotrich who recently stated the same view).

I think (and it is NOT my fantasy, as you insist) that a Jew is a Jew is a Jew as long as s/he is born to a Jewish mother regardless of whether this mother was religious or not or whether she converted to another religion, OR that a Jew is someone who was properly converted given that s/he converted like Ruth (joining the people and the religion sincerely).

If you are right, then 9 out of 10 Diaspora Jews are not Jewish and can be kept out of Israel (the Jewish State, based on its aliyah policy, agrees with you – congratulations!), and most Jews in Israel are not Jewish and the state has really no right to claim that its existence is based on the Bible.

  36. “In 1923, the 27th Jesuit General Congregation reiterated that “The impediment of origin extends to all who are descended from the Jewish race, unless it is clear that their father, grandfather, and great grandfather have belonged to the Catholic Church.” Only in 1946, in the aftermath of the Second World War, did the 29th General Congregation drop the requirement, but it still called for “cautions to be exercised before admitting a candidate about whom there is some doubt as to the character of his hereditary background”.[24]”

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Limpieza_de_sangre

  37. @READER-

I dodn’t deal with an apostate returning to Judaism as that was not part of the discussion. But, In fact, those who return are accepted in Jewish cemeteries, but on the edges.

As far as Jewish souls are concerned, and no matter who wrote what book, you are diving into a sort of metaphysical Maelstrom, about which not a single person who ever lived has any knowledge about at all.

You resort to answering positive facts with mystical nonsense,

Let’s close this discussion, I don’t want to get into another irrelevant, roundabout. My points differ from your meandering reluctance to ever lose an argument. As a general, you’d have been successful in conducting an evasive retreat..-for ever.

What has the fact tat conversion has never saved them from persecution to do with our dispute. Even there you are wrong, because it has many times I know this for a personal fact. Never mind.

*****This discussion puts me in mind of Count D’Erlon marching 20,000 men uselessly between Ligny and Quatre Bras, when if used, would undoubtedly have won Napoleon the battle of Waterloo, if then, it had even eventuated. Against the Prussians it would have completely destroyed the Prussian Army, leaving Wellington without any hope of being saved. Against Quatre bras, Wellington would have been beaten right there, and NO Waterloo could have been fought.******

A crusing blow to the Movie industry.
