CIJA goes all out in support of queer and transgender Jews.

CIJA

As the advocacy agent of Jewish Federations across Canada, CIJA is dedicated to representing the broad range of views within Canada’s organized Jewish community.

We pride ourselves on having a wide bridge, a big tent, and a space for all Zionists. This includes of course queer and transgender Jewish Canadians and the many allies and friends we have in the LGBTQ2S+ community.

On June 17, CIJA proudly co-hosted simultaneous Pride Shabbat dinners in Edmonton, Hamilton, and Toronto. Hundreds of Jewish and non-Jewish LGBTQ2S+ community members and allies gathered to celebrate our Jewish values and rich tradition with immense Pride.

We are grateful to the many elected officials from all levels of government who joined us. We would also like to extend warm appreciation to the spiritual and congregational leadership for their leadership, guidance, and warm words of affirmation.

This is a bit new that all the mentally deranged people are included

Oh, I dunno. There seems to have been a movie about every possible thing. I’m reminded of:

    King of Hearts (1968)
This quirky comedic war film focuses on Scottish soldier Charles Plumpick (Alan Bates), who is sent to a French town on a mission to disarm a bomb left behind by the retreating German army. Plumpick discovers that the area is deserted except for the inmates of the local asylum. The mental patients playfully take over the town and pronounce the soldier their king. While Plumpick is intrigued by the antics of the former inmates, he must stay on task and find the bomb before it detonates.
Release date: June 19, 1967 (USA)
    Director: Philippe de Broca
    Music composed by: Georges Delerue
    Box office: 580,000 USD
Screenplay: Philippe de Broca, Daniel Boulanger, Maurice Bessy
    Languages: English, French, German

Says Amazon Prime Video has it streaming. I saw it in a theater in the 70s or 80s.

  2. This is a bit new that all the mentally deranged people are included. If were a Canadian Jew I would sit down and think about my identity, and advocate strongly the reopening certain institutions for the “leaders” of CIJA and their Jewish LGBTQ2S+ community.

  4. It wasn’t enough to add a plus? They had to add a number and another letter? What on earth might they stand for? Which one is the bearded lady? You realize none of this constant manufacture of vocabulary would be possible without the internet and smart phones.
