Covid-19: Pfizer BioNTech vaccine reduced cases by 94% in Israel, shows peer reviewed study

T. Belman. These results justify vaccination or do they. But two issues come to mind. 1. What is the long term affect, if any.  2. Do these results justify penalizing people who refuse to be vaccinated?

Underlying all this is the question of whether the world has been conned as to the severity of  the pandemic and whether the reality justified the lockdown, masks etc. Was it all to enable the fraud in the 2020 elections?

By Jacqui Wise, BMJ

The Pfizer BioNTech coronavirus vaccine produces as good results in the “real world” as have been previously documented in randomised trials.

A case control study, which has been peer reviewed and published in the New England Journal of Medicine, compared 596?618 people who were newly vaccinated in Israel and matched them to unvaccinated controls.1

Two doses of the mRNA vaccine reduced symptomatic cases by 94%, hospitalisation by 87%, and severe covid-19 by 92%, according to the data from the Clalit Institute for Research which is Israel’s biggest healthcare provider.

Researchers recorded the outcomes at three periods: days 14 to 20 after the first dose of vaccine, days 21 through 27 after the first dose, and day 7 after the second dose. In Israel, the second dose of vaccine is given on day 21 in line with the trials and the manufacturer’s recommendation. The UK is leaving a 12 week gap between doses.

During a mean follow-up of 15 days, 10?561 infections were documented of which 5996 were symptomatic covid-19 illness, 369 required hospitalisation, 229 were severe cases, and 41 resulted in death.

After one dose, during days 14 to 20, the vaccine effectiveness was 57% for symptomatic covid-19, 74% for hospitalisation, and 62% for severe disease. The estimated effectiveness in preventing death from covid-19 was 72% in the two to three weeks after the first dose. There was insufficient data to produce an estimate on the reduction in mortality in those who received two doses.

The study took place from 20 December 2020, when Israel’s national vaccination drive was launched, to 1 February 2021. It coincided with Israel’s third and largest wave of coronavirus infection and illness.

The study also suggests the Pfizer BioNTech vaccine is effective against the B.1.1.7 variant which was first identified in the UK. During the study period, an increasing share of SARS-CoV-2 isolates in Israel—up to 80%—were of this variant. The data, however, provide no information about the effectiveness of the vaccine against the South African variant, B.1.351, as this was estimated to be rare in Israel at the time of the study.

The study authors add that the vaccine effectiveness was similar for adults 70 years of age or older and for younger age groups. However, the study was not designed to systematically assess viral transmission or asymptomatic infections. As Israel does not systematically test asymptomatic people, some asymptomatic cases will have been missed.

Peter English, consultant in communicable disease control and past chair of the BMA’s Public Health Medicine Committee, said, “This is more great news, confirming that the vaccine is around 90% effective at preventing documented infection of any degree of severity from seven days after the second dose. This is consistent with the findings of the phase III trials carried out before the vaccine was marketed.”

He added, “Despite it having been published quickly, the quality of the paper is of the highest. It is rigorous and thorough, with appropriate statistical analyses.”

Ran Balicer, senior author of the study and director of the Clalit Research Institute, said, “These results show convincingly that this vaccine is highly effective against symptomatic covid-19, one week after the second dose. These results are similar to those reported in the previously published clinical trial, despite the challenges inherent in a mass vaccination setting.”

  1. Among my close relatives and friends, more than 20 people got Covid and recovered, no one died. At the same time, another 79 yo relative got his legs paralyzed after the first “vaccination”. If the virus is treatable, why to get this unproven and potentially harmful “vaccine”? It’s so easy to find the truth. Who is interested in promoting these “vaccines”? Same people who were thrown out of India, the Philippines, Peru, Africa for deaths, infertility, and paralysis caused by their vaccines. Listen to Bill Gates and his puppet Fauci. These people do not hide anything. Gates is talking about how much profit he will get from these vaccines. “Plandemic” is a part of the globalist’s plan to establish the NWO. Propaganda is working very well. People are rushing to get the shots, they got used to wearing masks, kids are wearing masks all the time…? Remember Hitler’s Germany? Orwellian “1984”?

  2. @ peloni1986:
    I agree with you a 100%.
    Great post.

I only hope that neither Ms. Silver nor her children (who will, probably, soon be vaccinated themselves) do not experience any long-term problems such as infertility which, if it does occur, will surely please Mr. Gates immensely.

  3. “Effectiveness” of a vaccine and its long-term safety are two completely different and unrelated issues.

What if it causes long-term damage to the immune system, reproductive system (possibly in subsequent generations), etc.?
This has never been tested on animals.

They went directly to the Dr. Mengele-type testing on tens of millions of humans under the pretext of this COVID virus being “the plague” which it wasn’t.

Besides, where will Israel, in particular, who is paying for each dose more than any other country get the endless supply of money for more and more vaccines?

Israel is already heavily in debt, and it has no ability to print the world currency like the US does?

More “loan guarantees” (like before OSLO) in exchange for accepting the Two-State Final Solution at the Israel-“Palestine” conference which is being planned (including by the US) for this summer?

  4. @ Reader:
They have not lost their minds. They have lost their ethics. Anyone ever hear of the edict “do no harm”. It wasn’t a suggestion. It wasn’t an opinion. It was how medical community practiced medicne. It was an ethical bar that we were to never cross.

Now throw in a couple billion dollars and your are on the slow track towards developing the vaccines that are to bend that old rule of conscience. Now throw in a couple trillion dollars and nothing is so insurmountable that it cannot be overcome. Now make the whole project renewable bi-annually. The possible consequences of the re-administered vaccines over time is not eve a topic of conversation. These are EXPERIMENTAL VACCINES!!!

These companies are raking in profits that dwarf the economies of most countries. Big Pharma has become Pharma the Great. Bill Gates stated not too long ago that the idea of risking billions on possible failing vaccines was not a concern when you were talking about guaranteed contracts of trillions. Bill Gates, who is a doctor of mad science and advocates depopulation protocols thru the use of vaccines…Yep that Bill Gates – the former unethical software giant who has morphed into a self-appointed, no-ethics expert on all things medical having received a degree from…that’s right, nowhere. Pharma the Great allied themselves with the China Class and their Corrupted Political elitist alies to overthrow the government of the United States and is now moving onto continue their power grab.

People are dying, have died, have been murdered all to promote this new mind trance for the masses that all will be well if we get the shot. And even if it isn’t, well, what was it Ms. Silver said in the article posted by Sebastien Zorn..Oh, yes,

“I could only imagine not having the vaccine and getting COVID and how much worse it would be,” Silver said. “I do feel like it protected me against hospitalization and God forbid, death.”

The still happy subjects in the lab experiment gone wrong just loves her status as the happy lab rat. So, I suppose if she had, instead, died yesterday, one could deduce that she would be content that she the vaccine had prevented her from dying the day before.

    The cost of being vaccinated…Priceless.

  5. @ Bear Klein:
Some of the Studies of the Vaccine or the results of the studies can be read at:

A new study published in the New England Journal of Medicine [1] offers an early answer for the Pfizer/BioNTech vaccine. The Pfizer product is an mRNA vaccine that was found in a large clinical trial to be up to 95 percent effective in preventing COVID-19, leading to its Emergency Use Authorization last December.

The new data, which come from Israel, are really encouraging. Based on a detailed analysis of nearly 600,000 people vaccinated in that nation, a research team led by Ran Balicer, The Clalit Research Institute, Tel Aviv, found that the risk of symptomatic COVID-19 infection dropped by 94 percent a week after individuals had received both doses of the Pfizer vaccine. That’s essentially the same very high level of protection that was seen in the data gathered in the earlier U.S. clinical trial.

  6. @ Bear Klein: Yes, the vaccine is reducing the death rate and the number of people seriously ill from COVID19. But these vaccines was not thoroughly tested by immunologists who do not work for the company producing them, and the findings of even these independent researchers peer-reviewed and published in a respected medical journal. All previous vaccines, for all viruses, were required to go through this rigorous testing process before they were authorized for administration to the public. But in the unique case of COVID19 , the WHO, the CDC and all world governments waved all of these safety guarantees on the grounds that COVID19 had created an unprecedented world health crisis. The claims of the companies producing the vaccines, based solely on their internal tests, were accepted as adequate proof that the vaccines were safe. As a result, we have no way of knowing what the long-term, or even the short-term health risks for those receiving the vaccine are. Governments, including the Israeli government, have not released enough data for us to determine whether or not these vaccines are safe.

  7. Vaccine is certainly helping tremendously as shown by less people catching the virus, less people dying and less sick people. Covid wards now closing in Israeli Hospitals.

  8. Study: Antibody levels drop 2 months after COVID vaccine

‘Antibodies aren’t everything,’ says outgoing COVID operations chief. ‘We might still have full protection even after antibodies decline.’

    COVID-19 vaccine
COVID antibody levels decline significantly two months after injection of the second dose of the coronavirus vaccine, a new study shows.

According to a study which focused on staff members at Sheba Medical Center in Tel HaShomer, Ramat Gan in central Israel, serum antibody levels appeared to drop off roughly two months after the second dose of the Pfizer vaccine, potentially raising questions about the long-term efficacy of the vaccine and the possibility that additional doses may be required to maintain immunity.

But some experts say the study is not necessarily cause for alarm, noting that similar declines are observed with antibodies for other viruses, and that antibodies make up only part of the body’s immune system.

“Antibody levels aren’t the only indicator of the level of immunity,” said Dr. Orly Greenfield, the outgoing medical director for the Magen Israel program.

In an interview with according to Channel 12, Dr. Greenfield said the long-term effectiveness of the vaccine remains unknown, but added that there is no reason to believe the decline in antibodies indicates a loss of immunity.

“We still don’t know how effective the vaccine is, but we do know that as is the case with other vaccines, sometimes there is a drop in the quantity of antibodies after a certain period.”

While antibodies have received much attention in public discussions of the COVID vaccine, they make up only one part of the immune system, Greenfield emphasized.

“The body’s immune system is made up of multiple things – there are antibodies but also cell-mediated immunity; that is, cells which envelope viruses. That remains for the long-term. So these things still need to be studied, and we’re constantly following up and checking.”

“It is possible that while the antibody levels fall, we still have full immunity, like we had before.”

Prof. Arnon Afek, deputy chief of Sheba Medical Center, echoed Dr. Greenfield’s comments, saying the new study is not cause for concern.

“I think people need to remain calm,” said Afek, adding that hospital officials will continue to study the long-term effectiveness of the vaccine.

Previous studies of people who developed immunity following natural infection – that is, exposure to the virus and without the vaccine – have found that immunity remains even after antibody levels decline.

One study, conducted in Israel, found no connection between measurable serum levels of COVID antibodies and reinfection rates.

An earlier study, conducted in Qatar, tracked 43,044 people for up to 35 weeks, and found that just 0.02% experienced reinfection, suggesting that natural infection creates a high level of immunity for an extended period of time.

For the flu,you need booster shots every year. Sometimes they need to develop a whole new vaccine when a new strain appears. And every year, there are some resistant strains for whatever vaccine they give you. Getting the flu is no guarantee that you won’t get it again.

Why shouldn’t we assume that COVID19 won’t follow the same pattern, and be with us forever, just as influenza has been with us forever?

And remember–we still don’t know how many people die or develop permanent disabilities as a result of the vaccination process. We do know that as many as 16 percent of those vaccinated have developed severe symptoms of illness, such as a swelling of the lymph nodes, within a few
days of being vaccinated. We also know that some people who got bad reactions to the vaccines have died. We don’t know how many, because no one in government agencies is counting vaccine-related deaths. One private estimate, reported earlier by an author published in Israpundit, claimed that there have been thousands of vaccine-related deaths

  9. @ clive:
Here are the reported casualty figures, as of today (31 March 2021):

“At least 1,138 new coronavirus deaths and 68,162 new cases were reported in the United States on March 31.”

    https://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2020/us/coronavirus-us-cases.html

That’s a survival rate of 98.33% for the US population as a whole — with and without vaccines, with and without masks, etc. The survival rate for influenza is 98.48% — again, counting vaccinated and unvaccinated, etc. people

    https://www.cdc.gov/nchs/fastats/flu.htm

For the average US citizen, then, getting vaccinated is about as necessary or unneccesary as getting vaccinated for the ordinary flu. Add to this, however, that flu vaccines have been FDA-approved, whereas the current COVID-19 vaccines are still experimental, and approved on an emergency basis only.

None of the above gives me an incentive to be vaccinated; in fact, it seems to carry an unknown risk of dangerous, long-term outcomes. I say this, being in a high-risk category. If I am not forced to be vaccinated by our high-handed, constitutionally non-observant government, I simply plan to:

    1. Use common sense

2, Avoid close contact and crowded, indoor places

    3. Keep my body fortified, with Vitamins D-3 and C, and Zinc.

    4. Try to glorify God, with my living and dying, regardless of COVID-19

  10. ‘It Hit Me Hard’: Northbrook Mom Gets COVID After Second Vaccine Dose
People can still catch the coronavirus more than two weeks after the second dose, but being fully vaccinated limits severe illness, according to the CDC.
    By Chris Coffey • Published March 18, 2021 • Updated on March 26, 2021 at 5:26 pm

Vaccinations are occurring every day in Illinois with the goal of saving lives and stemming the pandemic, but there is a chance that fully vaccinated people can still receive a positive COVID-19 test.

The Illinois Department of Public Health told NBC 5 it is tracking cases of individuals who have been vaccinated and test positive for COVID-19. According to IDPH, of the more than 1.6 million people who are fully vaccinated, 217 reported a positive test more than two weeks after their last vaccine dose.

Ariel Silver of Northbrook, a sales manager for a medical device company, said she received her second dose of the Pfizer vaccine in mid-January and tested positive for COVID-19 in early March.

“Having been fully vaccinated for six weeks and then to get a positive COVID test, I was shocked,” Silver said.

Silver said her two young daughters tested positive in late February, and soon after she started feeling sick.

“It hit me hard,” she said. “I’ve read that if someone vaccinated gets COVID, it’s usual very mild symptoms. But for two days my symptoms were not mild at all. I was in bed, very ill.”

According to the Centers for Disease Control, the vaccine will help you from getting seriously ill even if you do get COVID.

“We shouldn’t be surprised about some people still getting infected, especially if they have high risk exposures, like a household exposure, but what we shouldn’t expect are severe infections because we know the vaccines were highly protective against from any hospitalizations,” said Dr. Jonathan Pinsky, a medical director and infectious disease control and prevention specialist at Edward Hospital.

Silver said she and her daughters are back to feeling normal.

She said she fully supports people getting vaccinated and wants to spread awareness that what happened to her can happen to other people.

“I could only imagine not having the vaccine and getting COVID and how much worse it would be,” Silver said. “I do feel like it protected me against hospitalization and God forbid, death.”

  11. Antibody levels drop sharply after 3 months of second vaccine jab: Israeli study
    i24NEWSMarch 31, 2021

However, Sheba hospital says ‘we are still not sure this decline has significance’

Antibody levels of some health workers who were inoculated with the Pfizer/BioNTech vaccine dropped sharply in less than 3 months after receiving the second shot, a study conducted by Israel’s largest hospital showed — outlet Ynet reported on Wednesday.

Employees of Sheba Medical Center in Ramat Gan were one of the first in Israel to get vaccinated when the country launched its immunization campaign at the end of December.

These medical staff workers are taking part in a long-term serological study designed to track the level of protection in their blood cells, according to the report.

Sheba’s monitoring process consists of monthly blood tests to identify the antibody levels.

In the past few weeks, the hospital noticed that some of the workers’ antibodies dropped to levels that are considered “not vaccinated.”

Despite the results, the hospital emphasized that the decline does not necessarily compromise one’s immunity against Covid-19.

According to recent data published by the Health Ministry, the hospitalization rate of those fully vaccinated has been on the rise, Ynet reported.

This information comes in the wake of reports suggesting that Health Ministry officials are pressuring the Cabinet to promptly purchase 36 million more vaccines. Public radio Kan reported that the estimate is that there will be a requirement to vaccinate the population every 6 months, possibly with two doses.
