EU violates Oslo Accords

The Arabs have no right to develop Area C. EU’s support of such activity is in direct violation of Oslo.

Revavim has been doing its best to thwart such development activity which has been going on for a few years with financial support from the EU and even USAID, sometimes with Israeli assistance. Maybe Bennett will make a difference.

Fayyad, Ashton Sign EUR 7M Agreement for Area C Development

BRUSSELS, 19 March 2013 (WAFA) – Prime Minister Salam Fayyad and EU High
Representative Catherine Ashton signed a EUR 7 million financing agreement
to support development projects in area C, said a European Union press
release on Tuesday.

Fayyad and Ashton adopted an Action Policy Plan between Palestine and the
EU. Ashton said that the Action Plan is a result of “a shared commitment to
deepen our bilateral relations and strengthen our privileged partnership.”

Fayyad and Ashton discussed how to put into practice the shared objectives
of this plan, and in particular “the objective to launch agreement for a
fully-fledged Association Agreement.”

“This plan is about working towards sustainable economic development, about
achieving fiscal consolidation and enhancing social cohesion throughout
Palestine. It is also about focusing our efforts on East Jerusalem, the Gaza
Strip and Area C,” said Ashton.

She stated that the agreement aims to support the Palestinian presence and
promote social and economic development in Area C, “which we all know is of
crucial importance for the economic viability of Palestine.”

  1. @ RaymondF:
They have already violate the Oslo accords and they will continue to do so unless IL opposes physically and decides to retaliate by annexing area C.
There may be no international court to appeal the EU violation of the Oslo accords.
The IL gvt CANNOT allow EU intervention in the area at any cost.
Europe fears the Muslims and cares less about IL.
    IL needs to show determination.

  2. Israel should ban all EU activity and funded organizations which obstruct Israels interess in YS. It should also facilitate Jewish groups to sue in EU courts for them to cease acting in breach of their treaty obligations of SanRemo,LON mandate, UN Charter 80 to “encourage the close settlement of Jews west of the Jordan river” and cease the libel of the state of Israel. The best defense is a good offense, this tactic has not bee tried. If European individuals and Jewish groups sue then the State will not endanger their lucrative trade with the EU.

  3. Israel’s weak and pusillanimous government is not going to stop EU encroachment on Israel’s sovereignty.

If anything, I am expecting no action to be taken to stop this offensive in your face step out of fear of King Obama, now in Israel.

  4. If the Pals are violating Oslo with construction in Area C (with the support of the EU), then Israel needs to ramp up her presence in Area C in a big way.

The world has seen the Jewish sphere “deep inside the green line” with the very public snubbing of Ariel University’s 15,000 students from a general meeting of Israeli university students with Obama. It was scheduled right after his arrival in Israel, and leaving Ariel off the list of invitees is a clear sign that Obama does not want to acknowledge Israel’s activities in the “occupied territories.”

It’s only through the increasing settler population and such things as Ariel University’s huge growth (from a mere 300 students at founding in 1982) that Israel can achieve an irreversible stronghold in Judea and Samaria.

  5. First time Arabs or Europeans try to build in Area C take out the bulldozers. Pass the Levy Report and Annex Area C.

This is a hostile act by the Europeans. They are entitled to their opinions but this is direct interference and should be shut down forcefully or Israel will loose part of its land.

The Israeli government needs to claim this land and stop the farce of declaring it disputed. Take up the Bennett plan
