Has President Trump’s peace plan been revealed? According to the newspaper Al Arabi Al Jadid, it appears that it is. The London-based London daily reported on Sunday that the US president’s plan would include gradual borders for the Palestinian state, but that the refugee issue would be taken off the agenda at least in the initial stage. It was also reported that the Egyptians and the Saudis had already given their consent to the plan, and it was not inconceivable that the Palestinians also agreed to it, Maariv reported.

In the Arab media, the program was dubbed “the deal of the century”, while the Americans sounded a bit more cautious and called it the “general lines” plan. The borders of the Palestinian state that will be established will initially include Gaza and the Palestinian territories in Judea and Samaria and will gradually expand according to future agreements toward the 1967 lines.

The agreement will include a clause that will deal with the refugee issue only after the establishment of a Palestinian state. Palestinian sources said that a meeting was expected with the participation of an Israeli delegation and a Jordanian delegation to carry out the plan. The Saudis also agreed to the new initiative and yellowed that they had abandoned the 2002 Arab initiative presented by the Saudi king at the time.

The only obstacle to promoting the plan, Egyptian diplomatic sources, is Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. According to the report, President Trump’s advisor Jared Kouchner, who met with Netanyahu more than once, signaled Netanyahu as an obstacle to the new plan.

  1. No Pal state of any size is acceptable west of the Jordan River. It would be a real danger to Israel. In fact in due course Gaza needs to be dealt with military reversing the withdrawal of 2005.

  2. Insanity is being eaten by the sharks in digestible pieces. If this is the plan I now know the meaning of slippery slope.

  3. If true, this represents a sell out of Israel. A Palestinian State is created with the issue of “refugees” not “resolved”.
How can any government of Israel accept any part of this?
    Absolutely ridiculous, if true.
