I’m Also Disappointed – But Perspective Matters

Avi Abelow

Yes, I’m also disappointed.

Once again, we are witnessing a Western ceasefire that is completely disconnected from reality, this time led by President Trump, led by advisors with little understanding of the Arab-Muslim jihadi Middle East. There is no longer a real sovereign state of Lebanon. Iran effectively runs the country through its terror army, Hezbollah, which sits both in the Lebanese government and deeply embedded within the Lebanese army itself. Any agreement signed with “Lebanon” is therefore signed with a fiction.

The conditions of the agreement, that Israel pull out of Southern Lebanon when Hezbollah is demilitarized, will never be fulfilled. This so-called agreement is pure theater, exactly like the delusional “deals” we saw in Gaza, where Israel was supposed to withdraw first “on the condition that Hamas disarms.” We’ve seen this script before. It’s all illusions and empty promises.

But here’s the real, practical significance of this deal: The Lebanon “government” has now officially agreed to Israel’s permanent presence in southern Lebanon.

The big difference between this agreement and the previous one from the Biden era is critical:

In the Biden deal, Israel was expected to fully withdraw first, and only then was Hezbollah supposed to be disarmed, a fantasy that was never going to happen.

Here, the order is reversed: First Hezbollah must be removed and disarmed from southern Lebanon, and only then would any Israeli withdrawal even be discussed.

This is a meaningful improvement, even if the overall deal remains unrealistic and disconnected from the harsh realities of the jihadi Middle East.

Considering this flawed deal, Israel has actually achieved significant gains, far better than all the failed ceasefire agreements of the past. The IDF has pushed deep into southern Lebanon, crossed the Litani River in places, captured strategic positions like Beaufort, and is systematically destroying Hezbollah’s military infrastructure. Hezbollah has been severely degraded. Considering the geopolitical complexities, with even President Trump pressing for this flawed deal, this is tremendous progress for Israel.

But let’s be clear: as long as Iran/Hezbollah remains in Lebanon, no piece of paper from Washington or Beirut will bring lasting security.

The most critical piece of information is this: At the end of the day, Hashem is in charge.

Reality on the ground will continue to push the Jewish nation-state of Israel toward the only solution that will truly bring peace and security: applying full Israeli sovereignty over our biblical lands of the tribes of Dan and Naftali in southern Lebanon and resettling Jewish communities at least up to the Litani River.

This is the only way to permanently end the Iranian and Hezbollah presence in Southern Lebanon threatening our northern communities.

It is no coincidence that David Ben-Gurion himself, back in 1919, wrote a position paper for the Paris peace conference, explaining why the Litani River is future Israel’s natural northern border. That vision was correct then, and it remains correct today.

Just as God hardened Pharaoh’s heart in the Bible, forcing Pharoh to persist in his stubborn rebellion until the full redemption of the Jewish people unfolded before the eyes of the world, so too we are witnessing a modern manifestation of this divine pattern with Iran and Hezbollah today.

Despite the severe damage inflicted upon them, despite losing thousands of terrorists, vast tunnel networks, and much of their military infrastructure, Iran through its proxy Hezbollah refuses to stop attacking Israel. They continue firing rockets, sending drones, and killing Israeli soldiers and civilians. Their aggression is relentless and irrational by human standards.

But this is not mere coincidence. Their hardened hearts are serving a higher purpose. Every attack, every provocation, every refusal to accept defeat only deepens the Israeli public’s understanding that partial solutions and paper ceasefires will never work. Their stubbornness is forcing us to the only logical and secure conclusion: Israel must stay in southern Lebanon, apply full sovereignty, and eventually resettle Jewish communities at least up to the Litani River.

What Iran and Hezbollah intend as a war of destruction, Hashem is transforming into the catalyst for Jewish redemption and expansion. Their continued aggression is guaranteeing that we will never leave these biblical lands again.

The God of Israel is in complete control of history. What looks like senseless jihadi stubbornness is actually paving the way for the restoration of Jewish sovereignty in the full inheritance of the tribes of Dan and Naftali.

It might not happen tomorrow. It might not happen under Trump or even under Netanyahu. But it will happen. The Jewish people are awakening, and the Lion of Zion is rising. What our enemies began as a war to destroy us, we will finish by restoring Jewish life to our ancestral lands, to fulfill our national mission of spreading goodness, morality, and godliness, by also removing all jihadist evil, from God’s Biblical borders.

With God’s help, victory and Jewish sovereignty in the north are inevitable.

Am Yisrael Chai!!!

  1. Message to Avi: can you show us on a map which regions belong to which tribes? It would also be interesting to know if the descendants of these tribes will ever be back as suggested in our holy bible to these same regions. As we know, many have been lost due to conversion and genocide but if the Eternal says it will happen, we must expect it to.

  2. I believe Avi Abelow has been contributing significantly to what he describes as:

“The Jewish people are awakening, and the Lion of Zion is rising.”

He provides a very clear eyed analysis of the workings of the Israeli deep state, i.e., those individuals who work inside the government to get their policies established without running for elected office.

I would consider any employee of the State of Israel who works to undermine the elected government as treasonous.

This is not just a case of political rivalry. It has crossed beyond mere rivalry and is now the operation of an attempted and ongoing coup against the Netanyahu government.
