It appears that the headline should have been “going to be arrested”. What has happened is that the US is in negotiations with Italy and the Vatican to spare them from the full brunt of the law. The US wants to protect the Catholic religion yet remove a number of high ranking officials. Same in Italy.

The Charlie Ward-Parkes interchange seems like comic opera without the costumes. regardless whether the information is factual or not. Ward looks, AND SOUNDS as if he should be selling winkles and scallops from a barrow in East London with no useful conversation except to agree with what Parkes is saying.. “I told you this”…”Yeah that’s roight”.. etc.
The is a lot of “latest news from Italy”, but not a single mention of any arrest of any President.
The president of Italy arrested – yeah… By police officers wearing their gala uniforms.
The media are full of news about the arrested Italian president.

@ Michael S.: It must have been the Italian president who controlled the Vatican “military” satellites in James Bond style. Why not just use an ordinary VPN connection? No, satellites are cooler, especially the “military” ones from the Vatican who are able to bombard every single square inch of the world by laser beams.
