McMaster out as National Security Adviser; Bolton in

POLITICO REPORTS:
“Bolton is a controversial figure on the international stage. He cheered on the 2003 invasion of Iraq, has called for bombing Iran to stop its nuclear program, dismissed the idea of a two-state solution in the Middle East and derided the United Nations, where he once served as U.S. ambassador in the George W. Bush administration. Like Trump, he has an intense wariness of international organizations, and has also questioned the intelligence community’s conclusion that Russia interfered in the 2016 U.S. presidential election.”

President Trump said Thursday he has hired former ambassador John Bolton to replace White House national security adviser H.R. McMaster.

“I am pleased to announce that, effective 4/9/18, @AmbJohnBolton will be my new National Security Advisor,” Mr. Trump said.

He added, “I am very thankful for the service of General H.R. McMaster who has done an outstanding job & will always remain my friend. There will be an official contact handover on 4/9.”

The shakeup, rumored for weeks, came as Mr. Bolton appeared at the White House for a final job interview Thursday afternoon. The change in the key national-security post will take place before Mr. Trump is scheduled to hold a high-stakes meeting with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un sometime in May over denuclearization.

White House officials have been denying that a change was afoot, although they hoped that Mr. McMaster, an active three-star Army general, could return to the Pentagon sometime soon and earn a fourth star.

  1. I like Trump’s “Dream Team”, (and let’s not forget Niki Haley and John Mattis). I only wish that previous administrations had not allowed the world to become such a dangerous place. Trumps team clearly has their work cut out for them. In spite of my general pleasure with the new foreign policy/national security team, I confess to a certain amount of apprehension, as a result of past ill-advised adventures. Let us pray that their counsel will be sound, and not unnecessarily bellicose.

  2. Mazel Tov! Once Trump got elected I was hoping that he’d pick Bolton for either Secretary of State or Defence and I was pissed that he wasn’t. Better late than never. This administration has never looked better for Americans, Israelis, Jews and good people throughout the world. My prediction is Iran is going to swallow itself sooner than later and crumble. North Korea as well.

  3. Bolton does not believe in the two State Solution, is against Iran Nuke Deal, understands Islamic Terrorists.

So McMaster is out, Tillerson is out and hopefully Pompeo gets approved as Secretary of State.

Trump has made his foreign policy team much stronger!!!!

This is good news for Israel and the USA.
