Netanyahu’s speech to AIPAC

T.Belman. Samantha Poiwer spoke to AIPAC before Netanyahu did and she promised “U.S. will not allow Iran to obtain a nuclear weapon, period.” She added that Obama will “keep his commitment whether talks with Iran collapse or an agreement is reached.” John Bolton was asked about this claim and he said its a lie.

By Ted Belman

PM Netanyahu delivered what I consider to be a very smart speech. He said all the right things and said them well.

One excellent line was that “never in history has so much been said and written about a speech that has not yet been delivered.” Then he went on to talk about what was being said. Those who say that the Israel/American relations have been irreparably damaged are flat out wrong.” To make his point, he recalled in the past violent disagreements when Ben Gurion declared a state, when Eshkol preemptively attacked Egypt in ’67 and when Begin blew up Osirak. Israel’s relationship with America only got stronger.

He said he respects the office of President and President Obama and thanked Obama for all the security and intelligence cooperation that he backed. He also thanked him for the financing of the Iron Dome. This was smart because he didn’t want the fight with Obama to be a personal fight. He wanted it to be about a difference of opinion on Iran.

Also our perspectives are different. “America worries about its security whereas Israel worries about its survival, every day.

He said our shared values are much stronger than our differences.

He set the stage perfectly for tommorrow’s much talked about speech.

  1. Interesting that John Baird was there and mentioned by Bibi and interviewed by some media before Bibi’s speech. For a stepped down FA minister he is still doing some stepping up.
??? Teh stepping down was strange – some mystery there.

  2. @ yamit82:
don’t remember ever asking you why you have a dislike for the PM.

Of course I admit I know very little about Israel politics.
In fact I don’t believe a majority of Americans likewise understand the politics.
Having said that I do believe a vast majority of Americans support Israel regardless who the PM is.

My argument with the administration is, you don’t tell your friends (Israel is our only true friend & trusted ally in the ME & maybe the world) what to do, you ask them “how can we be of help to you”.
    That’s what friends are for.

You already admitted it and your comment speaks for itself. As dove said two wrongs don’t make a right.
In your case you are always wrong as you make a thousand wrongs and compound your wrongs – in your world there is only Yamit and you will commit any transgression whatsoever against all other humans in order to promote the ideology of the Yamit Ego.

  4. President Obaam: Achievement if Iran can only nuke Israel in 2025 – compares Israel to France

IMRA: these are among the assertions of President Obama:
#1. Deal that Iran can only nuke Israel in 2025 is achievement: ” If in fact Iran can accept terms that would ensure a one year breakout period for ten years or longer …why would we not take that deal when we know the alternatives?
#2. Iran’s development of IR-8 centrifuges – 16 times the enrichment of the current IR-1 as well as tremendous progress in delivery systems for nuclear weapons during the interim deal does not constitute an “advance” but rather a “rolled back” program.
#3. France’s security exposure associated with the decision by George W. Bush to initiate the war in Iraq was similar in magnitude to Israel’s security exposure associated with the Iranian nuclear program.

  5. @ SHmuel HaLevi 2:

The only reason Obama was elected twice to the presidency is because of the color of his skin. If he was white he would have lost both times. Ironic for America sort of like Afooch al Afooch .

Being Black is his identity and claim to fame because he has no accomplishments other than race to speak of…..

Calling him Black Plague goes to his essence and character based not on his color but his actions as the first Black President of the USA.

  6. @ Max:
Obama is the racist and he opened the racist element into first his candidacy and then as president almost daily. He is also a Jew and Israel hater. That means it’s open house and any epithet racial other other is perfectly legit. He is Black and for us and the world a plague in substance and for subsequent consequences.

I’m not a racist and have never disparaged another race due to their being a specific race….That said, being called a racist by one such as you is for me a compliment. So I willingly accepted your characterization of me with both hands. Since I have no respect for you as a Human or an intellectual equal you opinion is worth Bubkis and if you need a translation Google it.

Pls keep your Bull Shit amateurish psychobabble to yourself because if you really want to get into a hands down contest with me on who can throw more credible BS psychobabble at each other you or me? You will lose.

  7. @ yamit82:

I hate Obama (The Black Plague) more for making me defend the BB the weasel. OK it’s racist but so what?

Two wrongs don’t make a right. My 4 yr old is more mature.

  8. @ Max:

Watch the prime minister’s speech live in the player above.”

Thanks for that! It was great to watch it live!

  9. Ah the speech is about to begin, I am so anxious. Will the Mountains melt into the sea, will the Sun exploded. will the Stars fall from the skies.

  10. yamit82 Said:

OK it’s racist but so what?

Racism is racism. You admit it and you make hollow rationalizations for it. You taint yourself not with a label but the actuality. Never mind what they do, it’s what you do – that is a lesson of the Holocaust which you did not learn.

In a moment of emotion you discover your true attitude which is more than racism for this is actually an extension of the willingness to achieve power through anger and in the process by disrespecting all that is human.
Mel Gibson did the same – took the shortcut for a feeling of power in expression.

The facts are good enough, you can just change your attitude step out of a amoral swamp and still prevail and denounce what is the true evil – fascism in it’s form of Islamofascism and all it’s enablers.. Why be the Mel Gibson of Israpundit?

    Two hours to launch time..

  11. Herzog and Livni are so stupid and partisan that can not rise above the race to support Bibi in his speech. Herzog said Iran is no danger. What worthless politicians ONLY for themselves and would throw Israel down the toilet for a victory. Yet these farces call their party the Zionist Machene” It should Machene Bogedim (Traitor Camp)

  12. @ ArnoldHarris:
The Speech EST is : 10:45

Netanyahu’s speech to Congress is slated for 10:45 a.m., east coast time. This means that very few working Americans will be able to watch the speech live; they will all be at work.

Having Netanyahu speak to Congress at 10:45 east coast time, however, means that he will be on the air in Israel during prime viewing time, starting at about 5:50 p.m. (there will be a five minute delay in Israel).

  13. @ yamit82:
About me and African & other black skinned people.
We never had slaves or servants of that race and there were not numbers of that race in the area of South America where I grew up. I never met a Black skinned person until in the US.
Consequently, I could care less about American or other populations grievances true or imagined for or against each other.
I am WHITE, no apologies ever. Jewish no apologies ever.
Black people are Black and are of no less value than we are.
No one will ever be allowed to taint us with racist labels. We shall react fiercely against that.
Since I noticed that the African Americans created a multitude or organizations only for themselves, I will promote the creation of purely Jewish organizations.

    End of story.

  14. Max Said:

Racism is immoral and de-legitimizes your POV. That kind of support is not usually welcomed by politicians in Democracies.

Not racist!!!! OK it’s racist but so what? Obama is a racist. He hates whites, was elected based on his race… 94% of the Black Americans who voted for him did so solely because he was black and that’s all they knew about him. Most Jews and Liberals ditto!!!! He has used the race card at every opportunity to sow discord and disharmony in American politics and civil law-biding societies between the races always siding with blacks even when the national legal and objective facts were clearly in opposition to his pov. He is also a Jew hater & my enemy in a black skin, so anything I call him is fair game and the truth or damn close to it.

  15. “As our region descends into medieval barbarism”

    Include UK and Europe.
    —–
Obama snubbed Bibi, refused to meet him – he bows to the Saudis and refuses to meet the Jews.

    —-
Bibi has the US administration spooked that they are very very uncomfortable with this. It’s obvious from all the TV network coverage, today.
The Admin doesn’t want the public to think too much or hear this alternative point of view.
Rock ’em, Sock ’em Bibi! Knock ’em on their buttt!.

    ..
The Obama deal looks like the coup de grace for the Western Civilization Was this the whole point of his Presidency as the Manchurian Candidate or does he have something even worse waiting for us?

  17. I am relieved that the prime minister refrained from verbally attacking Mr Obama. The facts speak better at addressing the actions of an opponent, which is precisely what Mr Obama is and probably always has been in regard to Jewish national rights and the safety and defensibility of the State of Israel.

Now to the main event tomorrow night. Speaking of which; my wife and I have no television, and rely instead on live online coverage. What time is the prime minister’s speech tomorrow evening, and which news channel is likely to provide the best coverage, which in this case would see the commentators just shutting their mouths so we can see and hear the guest from Israel addressing the Congress of the United States?

May our collective tribal memory of HaShem bless the Jewish nation, the Jewish State of Israel, and its chosen leadership in navigating the often-treacherous rivers of international politics amid the threat of war.

  18. The speech hit all the correct words, made the needed points, and as Shumel says on to the substance of the matter tomorrow the bad deal with Iran.
