New National Security Advisor doesn’t believe in “radical Islamic terrorism”?

T. Belman. This is beyond belief.

President Trump’s new National Security Advisor doesn’t believe it is “helpful” to say the phrase “radical Islamic terrorism.”

President Trump’s newly appointed national security adviser has told his staff that Muslims who commit terrorist acts are perverting their religion, rejecting a key ideological view of other senior Trump advisers and signaling a potentially more moderate approach to the Islamic world.

The adviser, Lt. Gen. H. R. McMaster, told the staff of the National Security Council on Thursday, in his first “all hands” staff meeting, that the label “radical Islamic terrorism” was not helpful because terrorists are “un-Islamic,” according to people who were in the meeting.

Wrong. The tens of thousands of people fighting in the “Islamic State” and Al Qaida and Boko Haram and Hamas and Hizbullah are radical Muslims. To pretend that they are not Muslims is to deny who the enemy is, and to give comfort to Muslim governments like Pakistan and Iraq and Afghanistan who are on the fence about confronting radical Islamists in their own rank.

In his language, General McMaster is closer to the positions of former Presidents Barack Obama and George W. Bush. Both took pains to separate acts of terrorism from Islamic teaching, in part because they argued that the United States needed the help of Muslim allies to hunt down terrorists.

So we are now back to the Obama-era policy of refusing to say who the enemy is?

I don’t blame General McMaster for his Obama-style views.

I blame Donald Trump. He and his staff did a terrible job of vetting for this position, especially since an eminently qualified candidate, John Bolton, was available. McMaster’s view of the fight against radical Islam should have been the very first question that Trump asked him. Now it looks like Trump didn’t ask the question at all.

It reminds me how President Trump promised on the campaign trail to bring back waterboarding “and worse” for terrorists, and then hired General Mattis as his Secretary of Defense. After that, Trump seemed surprised to learn that Mattis was against it. Well, so much for another campaign promise.

This has not been his only bad pick. This week he had to fight Betsy DeVos, his own Secretary of Education, who reportedly wanted the federal government to force schools to let disguised boys into girls’ bathrooms.

Donald Trump campaigned for president saying that he knew how to hire the best people. Some of his picks, like Jeff Sessions for Attorney General and Scott Pruitt at the EPA, have been excellent. Others, like George Soros minion Steve Mnuchin at Treasury, and now a NSA advisor who won’t say “radical Islam,” are terrible. I think we could get the same results using a dart board or a roulette wheel.

  1. I wonder how long this advisor will last. He had better go find out something about the teachings of Islam and the duties required of any true Muslim. Personally I do not believe that any true Muslim could resist the pressure of a radical Imam to join the Jihad without rejecting the entire Islamic ideology and Religion. No matter how moderate they may wish to be, they do face the penalty of death for leaving Islam.

Is there really such a thing as radical Islamic terrorism or is it just Islamic terrorism?
Or is Jihad just Islam being practiced to according to the full teachings of the religion?

I hope Trump does not listen to the advice of this advisor.

  2. @ Russell:

I almost agree with you Russel. But the problem goes beyond radical islam terrorist, or islamist. The problem is making a difference between muslim and islamist. It suggests that muslims are religious good people and islam is a religion of peace with a few bad guys giving it a bad name. That is a lie.
    Make your self these questions:
-Do all muslims read the Kuran, believe it and obey it? The obvious answer is; yes, they do.
-Does the Kuran order all muslims to kill infidels (non muslims), or does it diferenciate between muslims and islamists in its teachings? The answer: it orders all muslims to kill.
-What is the common motivator between Arab terrorists, Iranian terrorists and Paquistani terrorists)? The answer: Kuran’s teachings.
-Ergo, all muslims are terrorists, with some differences.
Some kill, some give money to support killers, some give shelter to killers, some give away candies when terrorists kill, etc. Not all of them are killing terrorists; but all them help move the enormous killing machine of muslim terrorism. So, let’s call it by its real name: MUSLIM TERRORISM

  3. Islam is a pick and choose religion. It also says in the Koran that the land of Israel belongs to “the people of the book” How many moslems will bear witness to that fact? Therefore, the term Islamic Jihadist is very appropriate.

  4. Anyone who has studied Islam’s canonical texts, namely the Quran, the sira and the hadiths, will know that Islam is inherently violent and evil! This is because these canonical texts tell us very clearly and explicitly that Prophet Muhammad, the role model for all Muslims, committed all the atrocities done by ISIS. Furthermore, he committed all the sexual sins and perversions banned in the Holy Bible!

Prophet Muhammad is the role model for all Muslims and is their Perfect Man and their Perfect Muslim. This is a core tenet of Islam and is repeated about 40 times in the Quran.

The onus is now on Muslims around the world to say publicly that they will only follow the good teachings/examples of their Prophet. They need to apologise for his atrocities and sins.

Muslims have never ever done this over the last 1,400 years and they will never ever apologize for their Prophet’s evils! Instead they will make all sorts of excuses and lies to defend their Prophet Muhammad.
