Opinion Kushner’s Objective: An Economic Carrot to Change the Palestinian Narrative

By Yossi Kuperwasser, HAARETZ

A Palestinian man shows his money after receiving his salary in the southern Gaza Strip November 9, 2018.AFP

Israel and the United States maintain that there won’t be any significant progress in the peace negotiations unless we make a major effort to change the Palestinian narrative, since it is the main obstacle to a final status agreement. According to this narrative, there is no Jewish nation and there was no Jewish sovereignty in the Land of Israel, and therefore there is no justification for the existence of a Jewish nation-state in the region where the only native people are the Palestinians.

According to them, Zionism is a colonialist movement established by the Europeans in order to get rid of the terrible Jews, and there’s no reason why the Palestinians should tolerate them when they continue to behave in a shocking manner and create an apartheid state in Palestine.

Democrats refuse to condemn Antifa, their own brownshirts

By Thomas Lifson, AMERICAN THINKER

As America slips into what many are calling a “cold civil war,” not a single Democrat running for president is willing to condemn Antifa, the contemporary version of the Brownshirts that terrorized opponents of the Nazis in Weimar Germany.

CNS News repeatedly sought comments from all 23 Democrats currently running for president, and not a single one of them would condemn the thugs terrorizing and suppressing their own opponents.

Despite the well-documented violence of the radical left Antifa group — the Department of Homeland Security classifies it as “domestic terrorist violence” – not one of the 23 Democrats running for president would condemn Antifa when repeatedly asked by CNSNews.com over the course of 12 business days.

The Trump administration did respond, within a day, condemning Antifa.

JTA — France agreed not to target Palestinian terrorists who killed French Jews in Paris in 1982 if they refrained from carrying out further attacks on French soil, a former top spy revealed.

Yves Bonnet, who headed the now-defunct DST service in the 1980s, said this in January to a judge investigating the 1982 attack in which six people were murdered and 22 injured at a kosher restaurant on Rosiers Street in Paris, Le Parisien reported Thursday.

Friday marked the 37th anniversary of the attack, then the deadliest anti-Semitic attack on French soil since World War II, in which the terrorists threw grenades into the packed restaurant.

New Municipal Plan to Enable Thousands of New Arab Homes in Eastern Jerusalem

By David Israel, JEWISH PRESS

The Jerusalem municipality’s planning and construction committee last week approved a new master plan for the Arab-dominated neighborhoods of Ras al-Amud and Silwan (Kfar HaShiloach), with an unprecedented scope of 4,700 housing units intended for Arabs, Makor Rishon reported Friday. The approved plan is based on Local Outline Plan Jerusalem 2000, which was in the works since the time Ehud Olmert was mayor of Jerusalem.

In Ras al-Amud, on the slopes of Mount Olives, the plan was approved for an area of 420 acres’ including Wadi Qadum, the southern part of At-Tur, and Ein a-Luza in Silwan. The planned compound already has 5,000 approved housing units, which means that the new plan will double the Arab population there.

The compound includes 11 tourism sites, 42 elementary school classes, 108 high school classes, a brand-new elementary school with 12 classes, and community administration. In Ein a-Luza, which is spread over some 80 acres, an area of 23 acres will be set aside for public open space.

The Saudi-Palestinian labyrinth

The pro-Palestinian Saudi talk has diminished, increasingly replaced by an adversarial Saudi walk.

Amb. (ret.) Yoram Ettinger

The shift in the Saudi attitude has been reflected by a reduction of foreign aid to the Palestinian Arabs, partially due to the rift between the PA and Hamas, and in protest of PA corruption; a tighter control of monetary transfers by Palestinians residing in the kingdom; and the increase in the number of Palestinians arrested in – and denied access to – Saudi Arabia.

The transformation of the Saudi attitude toward the Palestinians has been triggered by Palestinian ties with entities which challenge and threaten the House of Saud. For example, the anti-Saudi Muslim Brotherhood (the largest Sunni Islamic terror organization), Iran’s Ayatollahs (the leading mortal enemy of the House of Saud), the anti-Saudi Erdogan’s Turkey (which supports the Muslim Brotherhood and opposes Saudi Arabia in Syria, Iraq, Qatar and Somalia), Hamas Palestinian terrorists (supported by Iran’s Ayatollahs and Turkey), Hezbollah terrorists (supported by the Ayatollahs), Qatar (which maintains close ties with Iran and Turkey, as well as with the USA), etc.

Israel’s Strategic Goal in Syria

By

BESA Center Perspectives Paper No. 1,250, August 9, 2019

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY: Israel’s shadow war in Syria is based on the strategic objective of convincing the Islamic Republic that its investment in a war machine is going to waste. Iran has so far chosen to weather the strikes and shift tactics without abandoning its Syria project.

At the start of July, media reports surfaced regarding an alleged widespread wave of Israeli strikes on Iranian axis targets across Syria. The reports serve as a reminder of the ongoing shadow war that is raging between Jerusalem and Tehran, and bring into the spotlight Israel’s long-term strategic objective.

The strikes allegedly hit Iranian and Hezbollah weapons sites. They included development, storage, and transfer facilities, some of which appear to have been embedded in Syrian regime military bases. Targets around Damascus, Homs, and western Syria were all reportedly hit, resulting in a number of casualties.

US-Israeli missile defense cooperation sends clear message to foes

BY JACOB NAGEL AND JONATHAN SCHANZER, THE HILL
US-Israeli missile defense cooperation sends clear message to foes

Israeli and U.S. missile defense agencies just completed, together with their leading defense industries, a successful test of the new Arrow 3 interceptor. While the Israeli Air Force declared the system operational almost a year ago, these tests now serve as a clear indication to enemies — notably Iran — that Israel’s multi-layer missile defense system has the country covered.

Israel began to develop its multilayered missile defense in the 1990s, following the first Gulf War, when Iraqi strongman Saddam Hussein fired Scuds at the Jewish state. Washington positioned Patriot missiles in the country to intercept them, but several Scuds landed, causing damage and casualties. This prompted Israel, with generous U.S. support, to begin construction of the missile defense architecture Israel boasts today.

Honigman: Mahmoud Abbas and the Arafatian Jesus

By Gerald Honigman

On September 23, 2011, Mahmoud Abbas officially demanded that the United Nations create Arab state #22–the second, not first, Arab state within the original 1920 borders of the Mandate of Palestine. Jordan was carved out of some 80% of the total area after 1922.

Among other fictions Abbas included in his speech was his purposeful neglect to mention any historical Jewish figures connected to the land. While mentioning Muhammad and Jesus, he deliberately left out the people of whom Jesus was a part of. This was no accident; indeed, it is part of a pattern Arabs have displayed for quite some time now. You see, airplanes are not the only thing that Abbas and his earlier Arafatian predecessors have sought to hijack. Follow me closely below to see what I mean…

Are there “Arab Jews?”

By Victor Rosenthal

I’m not a terminology freak. Sometimes you have to use words or phrases whose connotations are ideologically impure, so that people will understand you. But I draw the line at “West Bank,” “Israel-Palestine,” and “Arab Jew.”

I don’t think I need to remind my readers that there was no “West Bank” before the illegal Jordanian invasion and annexation of Judea and Samaria. With the exception of those 19 years between 1948 and its liberation in 1967, the area was always Judea and Samaria. There is no reason for anyone to call it anything else; but unfortunately the media, even most of the Israeli media, can’t seem to stop.

“Israel-Palestine,” of course, implies that there is a place called “Palestine,” and that it is as legitimate as the place called “Israel.” In reality, there is a State of Israel, there is an area that Israel seems to have ceded to Hamas, and there is the autonomous but non-sovereign Palestinian Authority. Hamas has never declared Gaza a state, because it insists that all the land between the river and the sea is “Palestine.” The PA has declared a state which encompasses all of the land Israel conquered in 1967, but does not effectively control it, so it isn’t really a state. Israel is a state; “Palestine” is a word.

Saudis and UAE begin quiet talks with Tehran in epic Gulf somersault

DEBKA aUG 2/19

The UAE and Saudi Arabia have quietly embarked on talks with Tehran, after waiting in vain for two months for US forces to punish Iran for attacking their oil facilities. DEBKAfile’s sources report that Gulf states, led by the United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia, have concluded that the Trump administration’s goals are not consistent with their own. An official in Abu Dhabi commented this week: “If this [negotiations with Iran] is what Washington is after, we have no interest in participating in his maritime security coalition plan for the Gulf, since its deterrent power will be extremely limited.”

The US-led coalition force has indeed been slow to take off because it is either spurned or ignored by most of the governments invited to join.

Don’t Let Google Get Away With Censorship

Big tech companies enjoy legal immunity premised on the assumption they’ll respect free speech.

Dennis Prager, WSJ

Illustration: Barbara Kelley

There is an understandable reluctance among conservatives to allow the government to pass any laws governing big technology companies as a result of their hostility to conservative voices. These conservatives, citing the fundamental American belief in limited government, argue that whatever the big tech companies do, they are not the government. Constitutional guarantees of free speech do not apply to private companies.

This is correct.

But the issue is much more complex. I was asked to testify before the Senate Judiciary Committee on this matter for two reasons. One is the size of my website, Prager University, which gets a billion views a year, the majority of which come from viewers under 35. The more important reason is that YouTube, which is owned by Google, has at various times placed about 100 of our videos on its restricted list. That means any home, institution or individual using a filter to block pornography and violence cannot see those videos. Nor can any school or library.

Israeli supremacy in Gulf’s shadow war

Israel is the world’s number one expert on Iran, but with respect to the US-led mission to protect vessels traveling through the Strait of Hormuz, Israel’s assistance should be kept in the realm of providing valuable intelligence.

by Yoav Limor

The news that Israel is somehow involved in the US-led naval mission’s efforts to protect vessels traveling through the Strait of Hormuz, in the Persian Gulf, against Iranian aggression cannot be separated from the overall campaign Israel has been waging against the Islamic republic in recent years.

This campaign – which began in the previous decade in an effort to quash Iran’s nuclear aspiration and has evolved to include preventing the ayatollah’s regime from entrenching itself militarily in Syria and curtailing the quantity and quality of weapons it funnels to militias in the Middle East, especially to Hezbollah – has made Israel the world’s number one expert on the Iranian issue.

Apartheid in Palestinian Jordan (Rebroadcast)

This interview was done prior to the inauguration of Donald Trump

This predated the conference that I organized and prior to my very direct involvement. Mudar shows how articulate and informed he is.

Posted on

Apartheid JordanIn this episode of Hebrew VoicesApartheid in Palestinian Jordan, Nehemia Gordon speaks with Mudar Zahran, Secretary General of the Jordanian Opposition Coalition and an orthodox Muslim who advocates for separation of mosque and state. According to Zahran, the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan is really a Palestinian State in which the vast majority of the population are treated like second-class citizens in the country where they were born. The Jordanian-born Zahran currently lives in exile in London—facing a life sentence in prison in Jordan because of his outspoken opposition to the apartheid regime that rules the country.

Explaining that US policy makers will only speak with the Hashemites and the Muslim Brotherhood, Zahran calls on US listeners to contact their congressional representatives and urge them to have communications with the Jordanian Opposition Coalition. Zahran is straightforward that his coalition seeks power in Jordan—power to honor and expand the peace agreement with Israel, to shut down Islamist groups in Jordan, and to expand the war on terror.

Trump’s Middle East Plan to Undermine the PA

Shoshana Bryen  • The Daily Wire

The Trump administration’s presentation of an economic plan — rather than a political plan — for the Palestinians was generally mocked or dismissed. As it percolates, however, it appears the administration, as is its habit, was reading trends. The formulation takes an axe to the notion that all plans, politics, money, and political benefits have to be filtered through the “Sole Legitimate Representative of the Palestinian People” — i.e., the PLO or its successor, the Palestinian Authority (PA).

This plan, unlike then-Secretary of State John Kerry’s idea to funnel $6 billion in “investment” through PA strongman Mahmoud Abbas, acknowledges that the PA is a terrible steward of its people and their lives. Inviting individual Palestinian businessmen — even if they didn’t show up — and Arab state representatives and businessmen, instead of the PA, may have evinced proper judgment.
