Likud MK: The haredim have to compromise to prevent elections

T. Belman. That’s what I’ve been saying.

By Hezki Baruch, INN

MK Miki Zohar (Likud) took part on Sunday evening in the Likud “emergency conference” which was called to protest the possible establishment of a left-wing government supported by the predominantly Arab Joint List party.

Speaking to Arutz Sheva, Zohar called the haredim to compromise in order to prevent a third election in one year and also urged Yisrael Beytenu chairman Avigdor Liberman to return to the right-wing bloc.

“We are in a state of emergency. There is a real danger that a left-wing minority government will be established. I truly hope that Liberman will come to his senses, will not lend a hand to this, and will prevent this because, ultimately, it’s in his hands. He can prevent this disaster and I hope that he does so,” said Zohar.

OBAMA’S TREASON: EVEN WORSE THAN WE THOUGHT

But Leftist Privilege will prevent him from ever being held accountable.

By Robert Spencer FPM

The Washington Free Beacon reported Wednesday that “the Obama administration skirted key U.S. sanctions to grant Iran access to billions in hard currency despite public assurances the administration was engaged in no such action, according to a new congressional investigation.”

And it gets even worse: “The investigation, published Wednesday by the House Permanent Subcommittee on Investigations, further discloses secret efforts by top Obama administration officials to assure European countries they would receive a pass from U.S. sanctions if they engaged in business with Iran.”

This revelation comes after the news that came to light in February, that, according to Bill Gertz in the Washington Times, “the U.S. government has traced some of the $1.7 billion released to Iran by the Obama administration to Iranian-backed terrorists in the two years since the cash was transferred.”

Our European ‘friends’

The European Court of Justice’s ruling to label goods produced in Judea and Samaria is nothing short of an anti-Semitic bombshell.

by  Caroline B. Glick, ISRAEL HAYOM

Tuesday morning, the European Court of Justice (ECJ) released an anti-Semitic bombshell. It decreed that all EU member states must affix special labels to Jewish-made Israeli “foodstuffs” produced beyond the Green Lone and exported to EU member states. The ruling was made in response to a lawsuit brought before a French court by Psagot winery, located north of Jerusalem.

Psagot’s manager Yaakov Berg was represented by a consortium of attorneys led by Brooke Goldstein, the founder and executive director of the Lawfare Project in New York. The focus of the Lawfare Project’s work is defending Israel and Jews from discrimination.

Israeli political leaders and American Jewish leaders roundly and rightly condemned the court ruling as anti-Israel, biased and anti-Semitic.

Russia sets up air base in Qamishli, challenges US/Israeli air force control of northeast Syria

DEBKA

The arrival this week in Qamishli of 50 Russian military trucks, 300 troops and hardware confirmed the revised US intelligence regarding Moscow’s military intentions in Syria, as DEBKA Weekly 869 first revealed on Nov. 8.

Until recently, US strategic experts estimated that Moscow’s interests focused on expanding its Mediterranean coastal footholds up to Libya, for which the Khmeimim air base was designed. This US assessment changed abruptly two weeks ago, when the first Russian military delegation arrived in Qamishli, capital of the Kurdish cantons in northern Syria.

The delegation was first thought to be looking for accommodation for the Russian troops taking part in joint patrols with Turkey along a 10-km deep strip on the Syrian-Turkish border.  But when Russian officials were photographed closely examining Qamishli airport and asking Syrian and Kurdish officials technical questions, warning signals flashed. Moscow was now seen to be eying Qamishli airport for conversion into a major military airfield to compete with expanding US military involvement in the region.

Caroline Glick: Avigdor Liberman, Israel’s One-man Wrecking Ball

T. Belman. This is a great backgrounder to the Liberman/Netayahu feud. Be sure to read the comments to Common sense dictates that Liberman and Netanyahu should cut a deal. They explain where the Hareidi are coming from.

By Caroline Glick, BREITBART  May 29/19

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his Likud party were unable to form a governing coalition within the six weeks prescribed by law — an outcome that seemed inconceivable six weeks ago, with the Likud’s stunning victory in Israel’s April 9 general elections.

And as a result, on September 17, Israeli voters will again go to the polls and again elect their representatives to the Knesset. In the meantime, Netanyahu will remain Israel’s caretaker prime minister.

The man responsible for Israel’s political chaos is former Defense Minister Avigdor Liberman. Liberman, a native of Moldova, leads the Yisrael Beitenu party, which he formed 20 years ago. His party won five seats in April in Israel’s 120 seat Knesset. Although it is a paltry faction, its size was sufficient to block the formation of a government. Without Liberman, Netanyahu had a coalition of 60 – one short of a majority.

End the War on Trump, Abolish the National Security Council

We can have free elections or the NSC.

By Daniel Greenfield, FPM

Lt. Col. Alexander Vindman, the latest star of the Democrat effort to undo the 2016 election, is still at work on the National Security Council. While Trump supporters on the NSC like Rich Higgins and Ezra Cohen-Watnick were forced out, Vindman won’t be. NSC staffers who criticized Obama holdovers or sought to expose their misbehavior are gone, but Vindman is still there while undermining Trump.

And that’s the SNAFU of things on the NSC.

The National Security Council has been ground zero in the campaign against President Trump from the beginning. General Flynn’s appointment as National Security Advisor had touched the third rail because the NSC had been used to coordinate anti-Trump operations in the Susan Rice era.

Iran and the Turmoil in Iraq

Why the protests in Iraq pose a grave threat to the Islamic Republic.

By Joseph Puder, FPM

Something different is stirring in Iraq. Shiites are demonstrating against their government. The influential Shiite Grand Ayatollah of Iraq, Ali al-Sistani, although born in Iran, has been critical of Iran’s interference in Iraqi affairs. Similarly, the radical Shiite cleric, Moqtada al-Sadr has also been critical of Iran machinations in Iraq. Both clerics have decried the killing of hundreds of Iraqis by the authorities.  The Ayatollah Sistani, a moderate cleric who has opposed Khomeini’s imposition of the “rule of the clergy,” and had displayed a tolerant view of the U.S. troops in Iraq, demanded that the Iraqi government investigate who gave the order to shoot the demonstrators.

CAIR and the Rabbis

T. Belman. We all know who CAIR is except for liberal Jews who are forever embracing Muslims. We also know that George Soros was behind the creation of J Street as an organ to speak for these Jews in place of AIPAC.

Eight years ago, I suggested that CAIR should be replaced by a Muslim organization that would truly represent moderate Muslims. Such an organization would be funded to the tune of $100 million a year so that it could effectively compete with CAIR in all spheres. Once it got started, the Trump administration could embrace it and reject CAIR. I stand by that suggestion today. Only in that way could moderate Muslims be the solution.

By Ilya Feoktistov, AMERICAN THINKER Oct 9/19

As antisemitism grows in America, synagogue safety has become an urgent concern for most American Jewish leaders. Not so, it would seem, for the Massachusetts Board of Rabbis (MBR). Recently, MBR joined forces with the Hamas front group CAIR (the Council on American Islamic Relations) to picket the Ahavath Torah Congregation in the South Shore town of Stoughton for hosting speakers whom CAIR calls “anti-Muslim hate group leaders.” The scare campaign ended up working. The synagogue had to permanently shut down its speaker series after CAIR and MBR publicized the synagogue’s address on social media. The synagogue’s rabbi, Jonathan Hausman, got death threats and was forced to hire security guards for his family.

Common sense dictates that Liberman and Netanyahu should cut a deal

By Ted Belman

Although Liberman is pushing for a Unity Government without the “messianic right”, what he campaigned on was the need for a new social contract between the religious and the secular. His demands were reasonable rather than outrageous. He repeated from time to time.

“We will not concede on passing the ultra-Orthodox conscription law, in its original format,” he wrote. “We will not concede on [the demand to] repeal the mini-markets law. We will not concede on [demands for] public transportation on Shabbat. We will not concede on [demands for] civil marriage, and we will demand the inclusion of core curriculum studies in the ultra-Orthodox education system. These are our preconditions, and until we hear words in this spirit, there is nothing to talk about.”

On the other hand Netanyahu’s wish list is that 1) he be the next PM, 2) that the government passes an immunity bill to protect him. Read more…

Unity talks stalled over Netanyahu immunity demand — report

Blue and White’s Benny Gantz said unwilling to share power with PM unless he commits to stepping aside if indicted, and not seeking parliamentary immunity to avoid doing so

A unity coalition proposal by President Reuven Rivlin stalled when Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu wouldn’t commit to not seek parliamentary immunity from his corruption investigations, according to a TV report Thursday.

The Channel 13 report delineated Rivlin’s proposal for a power-sharing rotation between Netanyahu and his centrist opponent Benny Gantz following the September 17 election.

Rivlin suggested that Netanyahu would be prime minister first, but would take a leave of absence from the position when he is indicted.

The ‘deep state’ fought Israel and lost

Nikki Haley’s memoir, which reveals how State Department veterans and White House “adults” sought to thwart the recognition of Jerusalem, puts the impeachment debate in context.

By Jonathan Tobin, jns

Americans and viewers around the world have been transfixed this week by the first public hearing by the U.S. House of Representatives on the impeachment of President Donald Trump.

At the center of the proceedings was the testimony of two veteran officials: one a State Department veteran, and the other a career soldier and diplomat. The question of whether or not they helped the Democrats who are stage-managing the hearings to make their case that Trump committed an impeachable offense when he requested that Ukraine look into what he claimed was alleged corruption involving former Vice President Joe Biden is a matter of partisan dispute. Still, there’s no doubt that their testimony reflected the bitter antagonism felt by many, if not most, of those in the Foreign Service and other long-serving members of the federal bureaucracy.

When Justice Isn’t

T. Belman.  How is it that all of the western world embraces transgenderism at the same time. (I can’t even imagine one country doing so.)  For that matter it has embraced the whole education  agenda as Korol points out.

The answer is that the UN mandates it through one of its committees. Of course these pronouncements are not binding or so they tell us, but honorable members of the UN embrace them as in the Paris accord.  Even the agreement with Iran was not signed or even binding but everyone honoured it.

The EU dictates to its members and thus the members are no longer sovereign. The same goes for the UN.

Republicans push for local government to be responsible for most things, whereas the democrats push for central government to have all the jurisdiction so that they can impose their will on local government.  This is the same thing. Decisions should be made at the local level except for a limited number of  areas such as Defense.  Education should also be determined at the local level, or at least at the state level.

The problem started in the sixties when a new directive came down from on high. No longer would teachers encourage competition. Instead they would encourage cooperation.

by Tabitha Korol

A letter written by a local elementary school teacher, I’ll call “Mrs. Krieg,” was brought to my attention by a mutual acquaintance.  In light of the notice that honor classes will be discontinued, she thoughtfully agreed that equity (defined as fairness and impartiality) in the schools should benefit all students.  Regrettably, she has been influenced by terminology that has been devalued and redefined to become a tool for social engineering among students.  Such revisionism has been applied to Equity, Diversity and Social Justice, and comes at the expense of freedom and true justice.

INTO THE FRAY – Gaza: Delaying the inevitable…again

By MARTIN SHERMAN

Delaying the inevitable does not make it less inevitable—only more costly

A fool can throw a stone in a pond that 100 wise men cannot get out – Saul Bellow, (1915-2005)

The ultimate test of this agreement will be a test of blood. If it becomes clear that [the Palestinians] cannot overcome terror, this will be a temporary accord and…we will have no choice but to abrogate it. And if there is no choice, the IDF will return to the places it is about to leave in the upcoming months-– Yossi Beilin on the Oslo Accords.

Everything is reversible – Yitzhak Rabin on the Oslo Accords

New book: Confronting The Deception: Inflamed by 9/11, fired up by eight bad years

By Tabitha Korol

Since 9/11, the United States, Israel, and cultures that still value our freedoms have been fighting a battle of survival on several fronts. The ideology born out of the Islamic attempt to claim Ground Zero as its caliphate is still being fueled by the Shadow Government. The seriously deceptive media hides the truths about Islam’s invasion into other countries and our own, concealing the consequent tectonic changes in the intruded societies, with the result that America’s needs for urgent analysis and discussion are suppressed.

Academia, from kindergarten to university, is disinviting valuable speakers, and turning patriots into globalists. Curricula, textbooks and teaching methods are being changed, inspiration quenched, and competition discouraged by an equalizing grading system, engineering the children’s psyche to produce a compliant, nonproductive generation.

Palestinism and the Hurt/Help Principle

By Victor Rosenthal

After Israel killed a military commander of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ) organization in Gaza, PIJ responded with (as of 18:00 Wednesday afternoon), 400 rockets aimed at Israeli civilians. This skirmish in the hundred year war against Jewish sovereignty in Eretz Yisrael will certainly not be the last. If you are wondering why they do this, knowing that the IDF will strike back painfully, destroying infrastructure and killing their people, and knowing that there is zero chance that it will cause the Jews to abandon their homeland, there is an answer. It is an answer that explains much in the history of the conflict, as well as many otherwise inexplicable events.

The answer is to be found in one of the first principles of Palestinism and its corollaries.

But first, what is Palestinism? It is the belief that the Palestinian Arabs were unfairly victimized, dispossessed, colonized, raped, punished, expelled, murdered, degraded, castrated, etc. by the Zionist Jews who created the State of Israel, which continues to do all these things to them. Palestinism holds that this is the single greatest injustice in the world today, and only the replacement of the world’s only Jewish state by an Arab state can rectify it.

European Court’s interpretation of international law in Psagot labeling case is seriously flawed

The Hague for International Cooperation, THINK

The European Court of Justice issued on Tuesday 12th November its much-anticipated judgment in the Psagot Winery Case, concerning the question how products imported into Europe from the “occupied Palestinian territories” should be labeled. A legal analysis of the judgment shows that this judgment is seriously flawed. This case is yet another example of how law has become politicized.

The European Court’s judgment

The Court ruled that, in order to ensure that European consumers are not misled about the provenance of imported products, “foodstuffs originating in a territory occupied by the State of Israel must bear not only the indication of that territory but also, where those foodstuffs come from a locality or a group of localities constituting an Israeli settlement within that territory, the indication of that provenance.”

There are many reasons why this judgment is problematic, including the fact that it picks out one specific case of “occupation” in the world and subjects it to condemnation. That is not only unfair, it is a breach of Israel’s right to be treated equally.
