Groundbreaking land reform policy brings new hope to the Negev

Peloni:  This is a substantive victory!  Well done to both Min. Chikli and Naomi!

Amichai Chikli leads a government decision to facilitate the absorption of residents of squatter camps into recognized Bedouin settlements.

Naomi Linder Kahn | May 28, 2025

The Ministerial Committee on Bedouin Affairs, led by Cabinet Minister Amichai Chikli, recently approved a policy decision that will empower a wide-ranging reform in land regulation policy in the Negev.

For the first time, the government has created a realistic framework for moving the region forward, approving a decision designed to facilitate the absorption of residents of squatter camps into recognized Bedouin settlements, on land that has been suspended in limbo for decades by  “ownership claims.”

Israel has used ‘high-power lasers’ to down ‘scores’ of threats to homeland

Peloni:  This is a potentially game changing technology.  I have been looking forward tot the deployment of this technology over the past few years, but this has thus far seemed to be an elusory expectation.  Hopefully the expectation of deploying it this year will not be delayed further.

Israel Defense Minister Israel Katz said that the new lasers will “change the rules of the game in the region — our enemies should fear, not only the capabilities we have already developed, but the capabilities we are developing now.”

Tom Homan: ‘He’s Not Gonna Win This’

Peloni: Per well placed source, Tom Homan revealed to a well-respected counterterrorism analyst who served in the JCS that he goes on national television to talk about illegal alien deportation efforts but, in reality, he has no staff.

Tom Homan Says Illegal Immigrant That Threatened Trump Will Live To Regret It

Border czar Tom Homan said on Thursday that the illegal immigrant who made a threat on President Donald Trump’s life will not get away with his actions.

Ramon Morales-Reyes, a Mexican national with a lengthy criminal record, sent a handwritten letter to the U.S. government stating that he will self-deport himself once he shoots Trump with his “30 yard 6” firearm, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) announced. Following Morales-Reyes’ arrest, Homan said on Fox News’ “America’s Newsroom” that he is “foolish” for making a threat against Trump and that he will be deported.

*Since the 1979 US-assisted toppling of the pro-US Shah, the Ayatollah regime has been driven by a globally-domineering Mega Shia vision, which requires Mega capabilities (conventional, ballistic and nuclear), in order to overcome the Mega obstacle – “the Great American Satan.”

The Real Tragedy in Israel

By Ted Belman (originally published Mar 15, 2006)

A narrative has emerged that Israel’s settlements in the West Bank are a “tragedy.” The fatal flaw lies in the original sin of supposedly lawless occupation of land, in contravention of the Geneva Convention. It makes a strong emotional pitch to a sense of justice, a major influence on the thinking of many American Jews. But the narrative is built on a flawed foundation.

For example, Gershom Gorenberg in his Op—Ed in the New York Times, “Israel’s Tragedy Foretold,” on March 10, 2006, opines that Israelis and their leaders have finally seen the light, namely that Israel should abandon the settlements.

Trump Warns Bibi To Stand Down on Iran

Peloni: This warning defies the reality that the only reason the Mullahs are talking to Trump is due to their diminished capacities which have come as a result of Israel’s stripping them of their air defenses while also crippling their proxy armies.

Internal obstacles in Israel’s war effort

Why hasn’t Israel won the war yet? A look at some of the policies implemented may provide an explanation.

By AVI ABELOW | MAY 28, 2025

Nineteen months have passed since October 7, 2023, the darkest day in modern Israeli history. The day Hamas terrorists invaded our homeland, massacred over 1,200 innocent people, and took 251 hostage. Despite the government’s commitment to victory and the IDF’s sustained military efforts, the war continues with no clear end in sight.

Our brave soldiers – my sons among them – have risked everything to ensure such an attack never happens again. And yet, here we are, still fighting a dragged-out war in Gaza, still burying heroes, and still hearing promises of victory that somehow remain just out of reach.

Critics of Israel agree: Settlers make the best villains

The British government believes that it has the moral authority to dictate where in their ancestral homeland Jewish families can and cannot live.

Moshe Phillips

Along with the Israeli Defense Forces, perhaps no group of Israelis draws the attention of Israel’s critics as frequently as the so-called Jewish settlers.

In the same week that Tzeela Gez, a 30-year-old pregnant Israeli “settler” who was on her way to the hospital to deliver her fourth son, was murdered by a Palestinian Arab terrorist, the British government targeted a 79-year-old great-grandmother named Daniella Weiss.

Trump lays out new Middle East vision, from ceasefires to regional partners

Peloni:  Trump’s push to solidify support around Turkey, sever the connection of US-Saudi deal with Saudi-Israel normalization, terminating the war with the Houthis without restoring full freedom of the seas accepting the Israel only exception, and a Middle East tour without a stop in America’s greatest ally in the world, Israel, provides serious concerns for what the regional ‘shift’ really represents.  Also, the US has been providing unfettered weapons supplies to Israel and had remained silent on the Israeli offensive in Gaza, but now Trump has noted he is looking to end the war in Gaza too.  Simultaneously, he has told Bibi not to take actions which will affect the US-Iranian negotiations.  While this shift in Trump’s policy is most commonly referenced in comparison to Biden’s policy, it is far more interesting to consider the shift from Trump’s first term policy.  Indeed, all in all, Trump’s policy from his first term which had been centered upon its good and strong relationship with Israel while aligning itself against Iran – something which led to the unveiling of the Abraham Accords after only a couple of years.  Now, the central aspects of Trump’s policy seems to be centered around the Gulf states, leaving Israel somewhat isolated to its disadvantage.  All of this ignores the fact that all of Trump’s leverage in the region has come from the strategic upsets which were brought about by Israel’s actions which have collapsed the Iranian power base throughout the region.  The resulting appearance of isolating Israel from the US during the past month has strengthened the resolve of US enemies, while diminishing US leverage with those enemies.  This will have unfortunate consequences for both the US and Israel.

President Trump’s evolving Middle East policy, highlighting a strategic shift from traditional Western intervention toward fostering regional partnerships, diplomacy, and sustainable peace.

By SETH J. FRANTZMAN | MAY 27, 2025

US President Donald Trump has been laying out a vision for how his administration views the Middle East. The administration came into office hoping that it could end the conflict in Gaza and bring about a hostage and ceasefire deal.
