Analysis: A comparison of IDF and LAF activities in Lebanon post-November 27 ceasefire

Peloni:  It is pure folly to foster any pretense that the LAF presents any control over Hezbollah in any meaningful way.  So long as the US maintains this narcissistic fantasy, particularly in combination with the ruse being fostered in negotiating with Iran, Hezbollah will continue to stand as a very real threat to Israel and the people of Lebanon as well.

By David Daoud & Ahmad Sharawi | March 7, 2025

The state of ceasefire between Lebanon and Israel, which went into effect on November 27, 2024, has now officially expired. The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) has withdrawn from almost all areas occupied in south Lebanon during the conflict with Hezbollah and, per the terms of the ceasefire agreement, handed them over to the Lebanese Armed Forces (LAF).

Israeli psychological warfare and The 1903 Society

Ukraine Says It Wants To Negotiate a “Peace Framework” with Washington in Riyadh

Peloni:  The ultimate goal of the US, namely a ceasefire followed by a negotiated peace, is contrary to the goals still being pursued by Zelensky, who has no interest in peace and continues to setup obfuscating demands as preconditions to even accepting a ceasefire.  Hence, Ukrainians continue to suffer for a want of having their choice of leadership being considered as Zelensky is close to entering the seventh year of his five year term of office, during which he has spent the past three years avoiding every avenue of peacefully resolving this war, and will likely continue to do so til he is removed from office, which he defers to only being possible after the conclusion of the war which he will not end…

Meanwhile Washington’s Negotiation with Russia on Ukraine are Stalled

Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelensky arrives at Jeddah airport, Saudi Arabia. Saudi Press Agency

If the US and Russia want a deal on Ukraine, Zelensky will need to cooperate. That is far from certain. The result could be that President Trump will not be able to negotiate a Ukraine settlement with Russia and the Ukraine war will continue.

MR. PRESIDENT, BYRON DONALDS IS A DANGEROUS CHOICE FOR FLORIDA GOVERNOR

By Kelleigh Nelson

There are more instances of the abridgment of the freedom of the people by gradual and silent encroachments of those in power than by violent and sudden usurpations.  James Madison

A centrally managed, centrally controlled, Central Bank Digital Currency (CBDC) is a tool for coercion and control. Rep. Warren Davidson (R-OH)

We don’t know who’s using a $100 bill today and we don’t know who’s using a 1,000-peso bill today. The key difference with the CBDC is the central bank will have absolute control on the rules and regulations that will determine the use of that expression of central bank liability, and also, we will have the technology to enforce that. No strikes in Gaza Envelop for first 8hrs on Oct 7

Yossi Baum | X | MAR 1, 2025

Exposure: In the first eight hours of the massacre, the Air Force operated only in Gaza.

Contrary to the “investigations” commissioned by the IDF, there exists a very detailed document with highly authentic characteristics, from which it emerges that the Air Force did not operate inside Israel until around 3 p.m., except perhaps for a few isolated exceptions.

This is part of the project “The Day That Changed Our Lives” by the Ynet website, which includes thousands of news flashes from the Black Sabbath — averaging around 60 reports per hour, and more than a hundred during the “difficult” hours.

Now it is Europe’s turn

Walter E. Block

Will the recent atrocity in Magdenburg Germany lead to any increase in the appreciation of Israel’s plight on the part of Europeans? Maybe Americans? This massacre is hard on the heels of an even more recent similar tragedy that took place in New Orleans.

Taleb Al Abdulmohsen a Muslim (an actual doctor no less!) living in Germany for decades murdered 5 innocent Germans including a nine year old child and seriously injured some 200 more; several of the latter are expected to die in hospital from their wounds. He plowed his car into a crowd of people celebrating Christmas. He is 50 years old, so this act on wanton destruction cannot be put down to any teenage angst. He is known for anti-Islamic views, so that cannot be a full explanation for this tragedy.

Trump Convenes Cabinet To Tell Them What Elon Musk’s Job Actually Is

Peloni:  Is this the the beginning of a thaw between Trump & Musk?  It is good to have boundaries, and all personnel must appreciate and adhere to such boundaries,  but the egos and perspectives of Trump and his chief lieutenant are not aligned in many significant ways, making both this statement, as well as Musk’s adherence to it, necessary.  Musk’s interest in mind chipping the world and his ties to China and the globalist elites are but a few of the distinctions which come to mind regarding these two personalities, and these should not be seen as being unrelated to the work which Musk is undertaking.

Since taking office, Musk’s DOGE has dominated the headlines as he has gone from agency to agency with his team auditing department spending and employee efficiency. In late February, Musk instructed federal employees to provide him a list of five things they accomplished during the last week, but some department and agency heads instructed their staff to ignore the emails. Trump told his cabinet and Musk that they need to work on “cost cutting measures and staffing,” according to his Truth Social post.  “As the Secretaries learn about, and understand, the people working for the various Departments, they can be very precise as to who will remain, and who will go,” Trump wrote. “We say the ‘scalpel’ rather than the ‘hatchet.’ The combination of them, Elon, DOGE and other great people will be able to do things at a historic level.”

Israeli Justice Minister Levin announces proceedings to dismiss attorney general

Peloni:  This is long overdue.  AG Baharav-Miara’s role has been one of obstruction and overreach since Netanyahu’s govt was formed.

Israeli Justice Minister Yariv Levin on Wednesday evening announced the start of proceedings to dismiss Attorney General Gali Baharav-Miara.

The process will begin with a government decision expressing no confidence in the attorney general. Following this, the missing members of the selection committee will be appointed, and the committee will convene. The committee’s recommendation will then be brought for a government decision, and finally, petitions to the High Court of Justice on the matter will be possible. The entire process is expected to take several months.

Trump Team Held ‘Secret Talks’ With Zelensky Opposition | Russia-Ukraine War | Breaking News | WION

Peloni:  Reports are that former Pres. Poroshenko and former PM Yulia Tymoshenko who leads the far right opposition party, Batkivshchyna (Fatherland), are rejecting the notion of wartime elections.  To be honest, the stronger opposition leader than either of these should be the mayor of Kiev, Vitali Klitschko.  Furthermore, Tymoshenko’s Fatherland party is notably not the least bit aligned with Trump’s objectives of peace with Russia, and never has been.  Additionally, Poroshenko tried using the ruse of marshal law in 2019 to do exactly what Zelensky did last year, ie cancelling elections. All of this raises questions of the veracity of this report which is sourced to Politico, one of Trump’s very strong detractors in general and on the issue of Ukraine specifically.  In any event, Zelensky has commented more than once since the meeting in the Oval Office that the choice for Ukraine should be the choice of the Ukrainian people, and he claims to still hold a majority in the polls in any event.  So let the people prove the polls right and give Zel his currently missing mandate, or his walking papers.

Shin Bet probe: Oct. 7 would have been prevented if we’d acted differently

Peloni:  This probe demonstrates the inability of the Shin Bet to address the underlying issues honestly.  This is a face saving distortion of a story half told due to self interest, which is not unrelated to the causes of the October 7 failures.

Security agency’s report largely shifts blame to other bodies, cites unclear division of responsibilities with IDF, government’s overly defensive Gaza policies

The Shin Bet security agency on Tuesday published a summary of its investigations into its failures during the lead-up to the Hamas terror group’s October 7, 2023, onslaught, with agency chief Ronen Bar acknowledging that if the agency had acted differently “the massacre would have been avoided.”

Security rift? – Escalating tensions between Netanyahu and Shin Bet chief Ronen Bar

Tensions between Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Israel Security Agency (Shin Bet) Director Ronen Bar have become increasingly hostile in recent days, exposing divisions between the government and the security establishment over accountability for significant intelligence and operational failures leading up to the October 7 Hamas attacks in 2023, which resulted in over 1,200 deaths and the kidnapping of 251 hostages.

The Arab plan for Gaza sidelines Hamas and PA, but only for six months

Peloni:  The plan put forward by the Arab League has no details because there is no consensus for the plan.  Attention will now recenter on Trump’s proposal, which Netanyahu has called to support.

Update:  Trump has now rejected the Egypt’s so called plan

Dead-on-arrival plan for non-factional interim committee to run Gaza during transition is dissociated from reality

The Arab peace plan for Gaza sidelines the strip’s rulers, Hamas, as well as the internationally recognized, inept and corrupt Palestinian Authority (PA), but only for six months, “in preparation for enabling the PA to fully return to the Gaza Strip.” In the interim, a “Gaza Administration Committee is being formed” and will be “composed of technocrats and non-factional figures … to manage the affairs” of the strip during the “transitional phase.”

Israeli newspaper Yedioth Ahronoth says Israel working with Russia to keep Turkey out of Syria

By

By kremlin.ru, CC BY 4.0

Yedioth Ahronoth is Israel’s second-largest daily newspaper after Israel Today, and it reports that Israel is working with Russia to keep Turkey out of Syria. With most of the Western world obsessed with Russia and Ukraine, many may be nonplussed by this news. But there are other pressing issues besides Ukraine. For instance, Trump has warned that America “should worry less about Putin and more about migrant gangs, drug lords, murderers,” so that the US doesn’t end up like the European Union.

The UK’s race toward Islam continues

By Andrea Widburg | Am Thinker | Mar 6, 2025

March 1 was the beginning for Ramadan, the month-long Islamic celebration that’s marked by daytime fasting and nighttime feasting. Muslim countries, of course, celebrate Ramadan’s beginning and end. Traditionally, Christian countries do not. Instead, they celebrate things like Christmas and Easter.

However, in the UK, once a proudly Christian country, Ramadan is now a “thing.” How else to explain its being celebrated in Parliament (with a speech by the Prime Minister about the suffering in Gaza) and in Windsor Castle, the home of England’s Christian kings and queens for almost a thousand years? Ordinary Brits are not happy but, frankly, what can they do?

The Middle East’s problems: Israel offers answers and opportunities

Keeping Israel strong is in America’s interest because the Jewish state is the US’s only reliable regional ally, creating opportunities to advance US interests.

By ERIC R. MANDEL | MARCH 5, 2025

By Dan Scavino, Public Domain

The US has been trying to leave the Middle East for years, especially after the controversial wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. However, the region has a way of always calling America back.

In reality, America still has substantial national security interests in the region that will not depart anytime soon. It is not a binary choice between pivoting to an adversarial China or remaining engaged in the quagmire of the Middle East.
