A delegation from the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria (AANES) met with the new Syrian government in Damascus on June 1. The talks are aimed at fully integrating the autonomous eastern Syria region’s military and civilian institutions into the state’s new institutions. The meeting followed a March meeting between Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) leader Mazlum Abdi and Syrian President Ahmad al Sharaa, which became a turning point in talks between eastern Syria and Damascus.

Given that a man shouted out, “Free Palestine” as he began to set Jews on fire, who had assembled with their pro-Israel group, “Run for Their Lives,” calling for the release of Israeli hostages, it seems odd that American law enforcement would claim to be investigating the possibility of this attack being antisemitically motivated.
The vibrant community of Boulder, CO, where the incident occurred, is home to an estimated 35,000 Jews, up from the 19,000 of a decade ago. It is now the site of an antisemitic terror attack perpetrated by an Egyptian national, illegal alien who had been admitted into the country under the Biden administration, per DHS (Department of Homeland Security) officials, according to a report from Breitbart News.

A Rubicon has been crossed. As so often has happened to the Jewish people throughout history, the hateful words that have been delivered in academia, on the media and in town halls by certain politicians have resulted in violent atrocities on Jews in Washington, D.C., and in Boulder, Colo.
Somehow, the words “From the river to the sea, Palestine should be free” have become an acceptable part of the American lexicon.

Thomas Friedman of the New York Times is at it again. He represents the same Newspaper of Record that bought us Walter Duranty, famous for assuring the public that Stalin was a pretty good guy, in the midst of his infamous mass murders. What pray tell is Friedman’s message for us plebians today?
It is that Israel is not a good ally of the United States. Why ever not? This is due to the fact that the only civilized country in the Middle East does not welcome the Gazans as neighbors. Instead, this world class journalist avers that the Jewish state seeks to expand, to take over the enclave located immediately to the west of it, plus Judea, Samaria, which he mistakenly labels as the “West Bank.” Even more egregiouys Israel does not relish the Palestinian Liberation Organization (PLO) as a partner in a two state solution.
Peloni: How is it that there is so little uproar over this 17-line amendment to the Federal system in the US around the vital topic of regulating AI? It is impossible to consider how this passage was added to the bill, unless we consider the reality that those who themselves would face state level regulations are actually writing the regualtions. We call this sort of carve out by self interest regulatory capture, and it was expected that this sort of self dealing was to be eliminated by Trump’s return to Washington, not reinforcing it. This passage must be removed from any legislation being considered before the Congress.
Peloni: The supremacy of Judicial tyrants will only grow greater in the face of capitulating to their outrageous efforts of overreach, something which first took form in Israel, but is now being practiced around the world to provide Leftist-Marxist-Jihadists with an unmatched power over the public in nations which were once considered to be democracies but are being not too subtly morphed into juristocracies.

It was sad to see President Trump bow to the will of liberal judges and bring back a terrorist gang member from El Salvador so he can “enjoy” the benefits of the American justice system and become a cause célèbre for the communist left.
Peloni: The reckless moves towards open sedition continue to emerge from the opposition. Israel is caught in a war against an existential enemy across 9 fronts simultaneously. Regardless of the objections which might be raised against this or other policies, the ruling govt must be able to rely upon the character of the opposition and its members to be that of a loyal opposition and not that of a conspiratorial cabal intent upon using any and every pretext by which to replace unity around victory with isurrection and open betrayal. It is a fine line to walk in disclosing sensitive confidential material, a line which must become all the more tenuos when that material might affect operational success during a war of survival such as Israel is facing today.

For most Americans, the date June 6th, is mostly remembered for the American and Allied invasion of France marking the beginning of the end of Nazi domination over Europe. The attack involved 3,000,000 men, 11,000 planes and 4,000 ships. For us in Israel and many Jewish communities throughout the world, June 6th is remembered as a day of miracles for the Jewish nation.

All of the news is not bad (although, unfortunately, a good deal is).
What it is perhaps paramount to note is that our situation here in Israel – as suggested by my title – is one of turmoil and tension. With regard to one state of affairs after another, there is lack of resolution. Not only lack of resolution, but conflicting reports, accompanied by charges and countercharges.

French President Macron, with the help of Saudi Arabia, is organizing a meeting in Paris on June 11 to launch an international gathering at the United Nations on June 16 in order to establish a Palestinian Arab state.
Peloni: It was always ridiculous to consider peace being remotely possible with those who would not even give lip service to recognizing the Jewish nature of the Jewish state. Rather than lowering standards to find someone with whom to form peace deals, Israel must raise the bar. Not even the lip service which Bibi demanded should be enough, as this is how the cold peace came to be formed between Israel and its Egyptian and Jordanian neighbors. Fundamental changes, not promises of recognition, should mark the potential of any peace, and the most fundamental change and most necessary, IMO, is the reform within the educational system of any potential peace partner, such that children are taught that Jews are indigenous to the Jewish lands, that they have a right to their presence on these lands, and are deserving of regional cooperation and general respect. Barring this, it is not peace which will be formed, but rather, a simple deception, just one more hudna for our age. And peace accords should not result in territorial concessions with Israel, but simply peaceful relations with Israel.
