The Israeli military confirmed that it carried out airstrikes on May 5 against Houthi targets in Yemen, a day after a ballistic missile launched by the Iran-backed group struck the grounds of Ben Gurion Airport in Tel Aviv, injuring at least six people.

After the Qatari Foreign Ministry condemned an attack on a ship attempting to break the Israeli blockade of Gaza – calling for “those responsible to be held accountable before justice,” and urging Israel to allow humanitarian aid into the Gaza Strip – Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu criticized Qatar’s support for the terrorist group Hamas.

“Israel is fighting a just war with just means,” the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) posted on ?. “After the October 7 atrocities, Prime Minister Netanyahu defined the War of Redemption as a war between civilization and barbarism.”

Peloni:  In the opening segment, Mark begins by citing the May 1 MEMRI report relating a recent column penned by a close associate of Khamenei who advocated for the assassination of President Trump as vengeance for the 2020 execution of Soleimani.  He also explains that Iran continues to threaten the US while it builds its ICBM missiles which will be capable of hitting the US with a nuclear bomb if their nuclear program is not ended.  Once Iran becomes a nuclear power, it can sell these weapons to other bad actors and/or coerce the shutdown of competing oil producers.  Speaking directly to the antisemitic Woke Right, Mark warns that the threat from a nuclear Iran remains a threat against America, not just Israel, and that thanks to Israel, Iran has only minimal air defenses which will, however, be rebuilt in time with the help of Russia and China, thus providing only a short window of opportunity to end Iran’s nuclear program.

Peloni:  If the US did not have access to the Israeli military to test, improve and innovate US military hardware in real battlefield conditions, it would greatly change the advantage which the US today enjoys over its adversaries.  As Amb. Peloni:  The irony of this report is that Waltz, who was a former member of the Bush wing of the Republican party, was too forwardly inclined toward interventionist action, so he is now to be replaced with another former member of the Bush wing of the Republican party, Sec. of State Rubio.  In fact, if the setting of Waltz meeting with Netanyahu just prior to the Oval Office meeting was what doomed Waltz, why was he the only one penalized for doing so, recalling that Witkoff was also present in that meeting.  As Lee Smith noted on X, “Washington Post is always anti-Trump and not to be trusted. This story also comes from anti-MAGA schemers trying to undermine US national security and tilt to Iran terror state. Basically, it’s evidence of another anti-Trump coup, from the inside.”

Judging by comments and leaks from the Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi and President Donald Trump’s envoy Steve Witkoff — although problems remain — things are going smoothly. Trump himself keeps saying that he expects “a good agreement” without spelling out what that means. The fact, however, is that so far nothing has happened. • There is, of course, one non-judicial way to make sure a deal sticks: Remove the root causes of enmity. For example, let’s start by releasing the US hostages and make sure that no further hostages are taken during what remains of Trump’s term.

In the early hours of Thursday morning, Israeli fighter jets struck military targets near the Syrian presidential palace in Damascus. The strike came after days of escalating attacks against Druze communities in Syria by jihadist elements believed to be aligned with Syria’s newly formed Islamist-led government. It was also the clearest message yet that Israel considers the protection of the Druze—both inside its borders and across them—not just a moral duty, but a strategic commitment.
