UAE Firm to Secure Significant Stake in Israeli Defense Company

UAE’s EDGE Group deepens military technology ties with Israel through $10 million investment.

Israfan | January 30, 2025

In a landmark deal showcasing deepening defense ties between Israel and the UAE, Emirati defense giant EDGE Group is set to acquire a 30% stake in Israeli security company Third Eye Systems for over $10 million. The agreement, still awaiting Israeli Defense Ministry approval, highlights growing military technology cooperation between the two nations.

Beyond the initial investment, EDGE Group plans to establish a joint venture with Third Eye Systems, focusing on electro-optical identification systems. EDGE will contribute an additional $12 million, securing a controlling 51% stake, while Third Eye Systems will hold 43%, and an undisclosed entity will control the remaining 6%.

What If?

Peloni:  The entire world stands in a much more secure position today due to the election of Pres. Trump.  From the shores of the US, to the Eastern Mediterranean, across all of Europe and throughout the Pacific.  In fact, his election was an inflection point in history, in which the world might take a step back from the brink of many impending and evolving disasters, not the least most relevance of which lies in the Middle East and within Israel most particularly.  There can be no regret that the gross incompetence and even grosser corruption of Obama’s acolytes have once again been turned out of power, hopefully forever, and we can only hope that Trump’s return as leader of the free world will meet the many challenges it faces with a sense of responsibility and certain judgement, and devoid of such inside trading tactics and political malfeasance which characterized the Biden regime from its first day to its last.  I still remain hopeful that this will be the legacy of Trump’s second term, and that the disastrously harmful Witkof affair will soon be dwarfed by the potentially revolutionizing steps which have yet to be played out in what will come to be the remaking of the Middle East, leaving Israel far more secure, and the world in general far safer than it stands today.  Time will tell if the deeply troubling Witkof affair will be the mark of Trump’s second term or simply an aberration of his policies.   Again, hopefully it will be the latter.

A few days ago, I took issue with the Doomsday Squad of prominent pearl-clutchers and naysayers — including Harvard Law professor emeritus Alan Dershowitz, director of Jihad Watch and prolific author Robert Spencer, president of the Middle East Forum Daniel Pipes, prolific British writer Melanie Phillips, and the formidable Morton Klein of the Zionist Organization of America (ZOA) — all of whom condemned in the strongest language the ceasefire/hostage release deal that then-president-elect Donald Trump insisted on before his January 20, 2025 inauguration.

Will Egypt’s President Become Trump’s Least Favorite Dictator?

Peloni:  Egypt has been given a long leash on which to act against its previous allies.  I am particularly looking forward to seeing Trump return the relationship with Sisi to one based on reciprocity or more preferably to simply see the relationship being handled over to someone else altogether.

Hours after President Donald Trump revealed plans to ask Egypt to enable Palestinian refugees looking to escape the war to enter the Sinai Peninsula from Gaza, Cairo’s Foreign Ministry issued a firm rejection of the proposal. Cairo called any attempt to displace Palestinians an “infringement on inalienable rights” and warned such actions would threaten “regional stability, risk further conflict escalation, and undermine prospects for peace and coexistence among the region’s peoples.”

Tulsi Gabbard ‘paid to mask connections’ to alleged pyramid scheme tied to her childhood Hindu sect

Lawmakers have been scrutinizing Gabbard’s ties to the Science of Identity Foundation, according to the report

Rhian Lubin | Independent | Jan 29, 2025

Tulsi Gabbard’s campaign paid a firm to “mask connections” to an alleged pyramid scheme linked to a secretive sect she grew up in, according to a report.

The Senate Intelligence Committee is set to grill President Donald Trump’s pick to serve as director of national intelligence on Thursday over her questionable connections and background. Since she was named as nominee to the post, she has faced questions and pushback given her previous statements and her history with foreign nations.

Lawmakers have been scrutinizing Gabbard’s ties to the Science of Identity Foundation and the Hong Kong-based marketing firm QI Group, the Wall Street Journal reports.

Will Iran Drop a Nuclear Weapon on Israel?

Peloni:  This article was written before Trump became president, but the arguments are still relevant and important.

By Walter E. Block

Will Iran Drop a Nuclear Weapon on Israel? The jury is still out on that one.

On the one hand, according to Ayatollah Ali Khamenei: “No, we aren’t thinking about nuclear weapons. I have said many times that our nuclear weapon is this nation. Our nuclear weapons are these youths. We don’t want nuclear weapons. A state that has so many young believers and this unified nation doesn’t need nuclear weapons. Nuclear weapons, their production, storage, and use, each has a problem. We have also expressed our religious opinion, which is clear, and everyone knows it.” He went on to say that that the “use” of nuclear arms is “haram” (forbidden).

The Holocaust Didn’t Really Change Anything

Peloni:  Excellent article!

The real lessons are those we still haven’t learned.

By Daniel Greenfield | Jan 31, 2025

Philosophers, writers and thinkers insisted that the Holocaust was an inflection point in history, but it’s clearer now than ever before that it did not change history, it only accelerated it.

Israel was not, as politicians all too often insist, “born out of the ashes of the Holocaust.” It was born out of the blood, sweat and determination of a relatively small group of Zionists who defied the traditionalists and leftists in their own communities to go and rebuild their own homeland.

Dr. Ross of Do No Harm Reflects on Trump EO Protecting Minors from Harmful Sex Change Interventions

Peloni:  While Trump’s EO puts an end to the abuses which have been suffered on children in the guise of medical intervention, those medical institutions, clinicians and school personnel who were responsible for subjecting children to these life scarring events without parental consent should be prosecuted for child abuse.

Trump Vows to Deport Hamas-Supporting Students, Combat Antisemitism in America With Executive Order

FDD | Jan 30, 2025

Latest Developments

  • Trump Signs Executive Order Combatting Antisemitism: President Donald Trump issued an executive order on January 29 to combat antisemitism, pledging to deport individuals who publicly supported Hamas following its October 7, 2023, atrocities in Israel. The order cites the “unprecedented wave of vile” antisemitism witnessed at American universities throughout 2024 and expands on the president’s previous order targeting antisemitism, which was issued in 2019 during his first term in office.
  • Order Seeks to Stem Hamas Support in United States: Trump’s latest order outlines a federal plan to quell what the administration called a “campaign of intimidation, vandalism, and violence” in support of Hamas throughout America in the wake of the October 7 attacks. Actions in the report include directing the attorney general “to aggressively prosecute terroristic threats, arson, vandalism, and violence against American Jews,” along with deporting “resident aliens who joined in the pro-jihadist protests,” to which Trump added, “we will find you, and we will deport you.” The president also vowed to “cancel the student visas of all Hamas sympathizers on college campuses.”

Herzog gets a ‘wake-up’ call, but the rest of the left are sound asleep

Palestinian statehood has become almost a religion in which no new developments will ever make those who support it reconsider their unshakeable, almost fanatical faith.

Moshe Phillips

Israeli President Isaac Herzog is backing away from his previous support for Palestinian statehood, saying that the Hamas-led assault in his country on Oct. 7, 2023, changed his thinking.

Speaking on Jan. 21 at the annual World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, Herzog said he still favors “a political move forward on the Palestinian front,” but he pointedly did not repeat his longtime promotion of a Palestinian state. That’s significant.

Instead, he explained to CNN’s Fareed Zakaria, a journalist and political commentator of an eponymous weekly Sunday-morning news show, afterwards that he needs to see real evidence that the hearts and minds of Palestinian Arabs have changed.

Trump’s Inauguration 2.0: Returning America to Sanity

Peloni:  Great article!

Cherie Zaslawsky | Jan 30, 2025

On January 21st, 2025, California’s Silicon Valley residents awakened to a glorious morning—a bright blue sky with nary a trace of cloud or even chemtrail, just dazzling sunshine—and, for some of us, the indescribable happiness to know that the nightmare of the past four years is over at last, and Trump is our President once again.

Joy cometh in the morning!

We just witnessed the Supreme Court’s breathtaking hypocrisy

Peloni:  As I have held since before Bibi won the last election, Judicial reform will be instituted in this election or the next.  It is a topic which will not pass from the public’s consciousness, because the whimsical use of arbitrary power as evidenced in the judgements of the court are what brought this matter to take root in the public’s consciousness in the first place, and the outrages which are forthcoming from the High Court will only increase as they feel the threat of public scrutiny or inspection…and the circumstances surrounding Justice Amit’s appointment clearly demonstrate this.

The Supreme Court has failed the most basic test of judiciousness, showing itself to be rash, tone-deaf, and ultimately unaccountable.

By DOUGLAS ALTABEF | JANUARY 30, 2025

Levin has been appropriately adamant that Justice Yitzhak Amit’s case should be investigated, the writer maintains.  (photo credit: OREN BEN HAKOON/FLASH90)

It is often said that wrongdoers ultimately trip themselves up. In that spirit, we have just seen a prime display of self-revelatory guilt with our Supreme Court’s handling, or rather, non-handling of the elevation of Justice Isaac Amit to president of the court.

Trump Was Not Elected to Sound Retreat Voters Want “Peace Through Strength,” Not Defeatism

by Frank J. Gaffney  • Gatestone Institute • January 28, 2025

The Trump 2.0 presidency is scarcely a week old and a number of political appointees who do not share the president’s agenda are now in key positions in his administration. President Donald J. Trump and Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth – and our country – must not be represented, and undermined, by subordinates who disagree. Trump and Gaza

A new age now begins?

J.E. Dyer, a retired Naval Intelligence officer, blogs as The Optimistic Conservative | Jan 27, 2025

[I try to avoid using eye cues to call out significant points, but that’s the readiest way in this case to just get done the job of outlining a new way of thinking. – J.E.]

There’s no question President Trump disappointed a whole lot of people and lost a lot of momentum with some supporters when he appeared to knuckle under to a ceasefire-for-hostages plan as an operational interruption to the Gaza war.  It can’t help looking Biden-like.  It has the essential elements of what Biden had been incessantly pushing since the 10/7 attack:   ceasefire for its own sake, which everyone expects Hamas to duly break, as always; negotiating with terrorists for hostages, which invariably produces wildly disproportionate personnel exchanges; grand, vague, and misdirected posturing on “solutions” for “peace” and who should be in charge of directing the world at ramming speed to a “Palestinian state.”

Hamas’ ‘terror theater’ is being conducted by Al Jazeera ‘journalist’ in Qatar – report

Well-known Al Jazeera journalist proposed to orchestrate cynical release ceremonies

Over the past few weeks, Hamas has elaborately orchestrated the hostage releases of the ceasefire’s first stage, using them as a show of force and to humiliate the hostages live on TV.

Now, i24 News revealed that Hamas hired a Qatar-based Al Jazeera journalist to professionally direct the hostage release ceremonies from afar.
