Peloni:  The Arabs ethnically cleansed Arabia of its Jews after the Europeans killed two-thirds of the Jews of Europe.  How incredible is it that Europe remained silent about this fact, even as they were making faux claims of ‘Never Again’ to support the creation of international norms as a con in founding the most antisemitic organization on earth, the UN.  Now, after Europe saw fit to import millions of Arabs into their society, the Arabs are keen to ethnically cleanse Europe as well, and the Europeans appear quite ready to let them do so, just as the UN stands mute except to repeatedly and inexplicably condemn Israel, the only source of refuge, respite and support which the Jews of Europe can expect to hold firm.  This outrage, and the political silence which surrounds it, strikes both horror and clarity of the growing threats to Jews, and not just in Amsterdam.  While Nioh Berg correctly states for Jews to stay out of Amsterdam, the global assault on Jews across the world bares the reality that Amsterdam is not the only center of threat which is being raised against the Jewish people.  Is it really credible to think that what is taking place in Amsterdam will remain unique to Amsterdam.  While our hopes would have us believe the answer is yes, the international support and tolerance of attacks against Jews around the world leaves a far less hopeful reality.

A pogrom is a premeditated, organized, violent riot with the aim of threatening, intimidating, and massacring Jews, made common in late 19^th and early 20^th century Russia and Eastern Europe. Last week, in the continent best known for a genocide against the Jewish people less than a century ago, that’s exactly what happened again.

It’s ironic that the latest pogrom took place in the country made famous by Anne Frank whose family was initially hidden, but then turned in by another antisemites, and Righteous Gentiles like Corrie Ten Boom who put their own lives on the line to protect Jews, Jews are once again being hunted, and not protected by the authorities.

It’s ironic that the latest pogrom happened the week of the anniversary of Kristallnacht, the 1938 Nazi pogrom throughout Germany, an event that was not only threatening to Jews, but a test the rest of the world failed by not speaking up and stopping the Nazis then. As a result, the Nazis understood they could implement their “final solution”, and nobody would rise up to protect the Jews. The latest pogrom is a similar test for the future of Europe.

Benjamin Kerstein, in his reflection on the Democratic Party’s defeat in the 2024 US Presidential election, observed that, “the Democrats thought they could appease the antisemites. What they could not or would not understand is that antisemitism cannot be appeased. It will accept nothing but genocide.” Kerstein is certainly correct. The implications of his insight go well beyond the autopsy currently underway over the corpse of Democratic electoral fantasies. If anti-Semitism, “will accept nothing but genocide,” then negotiation and compromise are irrelevant. Those who seek genocide will not stop until either they accomplish it, or they are, like the severed metallic hand of Terminator, or the putrid skeletal hand of a captive wight, destroyed utterly. The desire to kill all Jews on the conviction that they must all be killed is, of course, much older than the word anti-Semitism. On Thursday night, there was a pogrom in Amsterdam. It was directed against some 3,000 Israelis who were in the city to cheer on the Maccabi Tel Aviv soccer team, which was playing against the Dutch team Ajax in a UEFA (Union of European Football Associations) Europa League match.
Masked assailants – Muslims, some shouting “Free Palestine” – brutally attacked the Israelis. It is the most serious attack – actually a series of attacks – on Jews since October 7 and is being called a pogrom because of its scope and virulence.

Peloni:  Israel should maintain permanent security presence over all of Gaza and should also take the northern half or third of Gaza for Jewish settlement.  The only penalty which the Arabs recognize as penalizing is the loss of territory, and they must understand that the purposeful mutilation, slaughter, rape and kidnapping of Israeli citizens, as took place on October 7, will have penalizing effects.

The IDF has built up its presence and control of several key points in the Strip over the past few months in what analysts say is a preparation for a long-term military presence in the enclave after fighting has ended.
