University heads denounce coalition bill that would ban display of Palestinian flag

T. Belman.  I am totally in favour of banning this flag.  The Palestinians and their supporters are an existential threat to Israel.  We should not be tolerant of the intolerant. The Palestinians are our enemy. And we should suppress the calls for commemorating the “Naqba”.

Israeli university chiefs on Thursday blasted a coalition law bill set to be discussed in the upcoming cabinet meeting that would outlaw waving the Palestinian national flag anywhere in Israel, alleging that if it passes, it would trigger a “wave of academic boycotts of Israeli institutions all around the world.”

The president of Tel Aviv University, Ariel Porat, went further in a separate statement, saying that if the passes, he will not enforce the law’s clause mandating the permanent expulsion of students who wave the Palestinian flag.

After 20-week Campaign, Israel’s Pro-democracy Protest Regroups for War of Attrition

T. Belman.  I fail to see how they are better off with a “war of attrition”. The government passed the budget in less than 4 weeks. It can pass the judicial reform in the same time period, particularly if they include it all in one bill.

The protestors  don’t want a Jewish state, They want  “liberal democracy” i.e., a state of all its citizens. With the changing demographics, the only way they can get what they want is to prevent Judicial reform. But the battle is over what kind of state do we end up with.

The protest movement against the Netanyahu government’s judicial overhaul is switching from ‘days of disruption’ and blocking intersections to a state of vigilance that some are calling the ‘war between wars’

By Bar Peleg, HAARETZ

It’s 10 P.M. Saturday and traffic on the Ayalon Highway is flowing. A few weeks ago, that was unimaginable. Saturday nights were given over to gridlock – human, not vehicular. The mass demonstrations forced drivers to reconsider their planes or find a different route. It has been different for a month, and not only due to the break in protests caused by the latest military operation in Gaza. Read more…

Marked for death by Islam

He gets 600 death threats a year for criticizing Islam in Europe.

Geert WildersReuters

In the country where Spinoza became a prophet of atheism, Karl Marx investigated the roots of capitalism, the Founding Fathers started their journey, Descartes, Rousseau and Sade published their writings and Locke put his hand to the “Letter on Tolerance”, there is a man transformed into a ghost for criticizing Islam: he is the most protected in Europe.

Israel’s Health Ministry: No young adults without preexisting conditions died of COVID-19

T. Belman. This article “raises the question of how much a society is willing to do in order to protect its most vulnerable members.” No it doesn’t.. The hypocritic oath says the standard is “do no harm”.  There was never a scientific basis for the over-reaction. The question remains “was the government’s handling of the crises illegal?”

And remember the government’s unscientific banning of Hydroxychloroquine and Ivermectin.

Health Ministry says 0 reports of people 18-50 dying of COVID-19 without preexisting conditions – but bases its information only on epidemiological investigations.
Moshe Feiglin, however, wrote that the government “locked you up in your homes, and stole a year of normal education from your children…all for a ‘plague’ which hurt zero citizens below the age of 50 without preexisting conditions.”

Saudi-Iran Deal Tested in Yemen and Syria

More than 150,000 people have been killed in the subsequent war, including 14,500 civilians. In light of this, the question of future arrangements in that blighted country looms large when considering the feasibility of the current Arab efforts to defang, via diplomacy, the Iranian project for regional domination.

How The West Sanctions Enemies: Floods Them with Rewards

by Burak Bekdil, GATESTONE  •  May 24, 2023 at 5:00 am

  • Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdo?an tirelessly struggles to harm Western interests. He should be punished and sanctioned for doing that. Instead, the UN, under U.S. direction, rewarded Turkey by appointing a close Erdo?an confidant to a critical Afghan post, and the Biden administration rewarded Erdo?an by requesting Congressional authorization to sell critical fighter jet parts to Turkey.
  • In an effort to help Putin evade sanctions, Turkey agreed to pay 25% of its natural gas bill to Russia in rubles. In return, to help Erdo?an find a way out of a punishing economic crisis, Putin deferred repayment Turkey’s $20 billion gas debts to Russia until 2024.

The Soros Activist at the Heart of California’s $800 Billion Slave Reparations

By Daniel Greenfield,         23 May 08:51 PM

In 2021, the Equal Justice Institute celebrated a settlement with the University of California in which the system agreed to stop using SAT and ACT test scores, objective merit-based metrics, in college admissions, until 2025. The racialist lawsuit claimed that test scores violate the California Constitution’s Equal Protection Clause as “indicators” of race.

The “SAT is a barrier to equal opportunity”, Lisa Holder, a counsel with the Equal Opportunity Institute, claimed.

US wants Israel to shelve judicial overhaul and restart talks with Palestinians in return for Saudi normalization AND THEN SOME

Report also claims both Washington and Riyadh are conditioning potential establishment of diplomatic ties on Israel restarting peace talks with Palestinians

23 May 2023, 10:18 pm

The White House reportedly wants Israel to halt its judicial overhaul and restart peace talks with the Palestinian Authority in order for the US to move forward with brokering normalization between Israel and Saudi Arabia.

Reports have swirled in recent days that Jerusalem and Riyadh are in the midst of negotiations over direct flights between the nations that have the potential to lead to a wider normalization deal — which has long been sought by Israel but largely rejected by the Saudis.

“There’s no future, No future No future for you” if you’re a Jew, in Germany

T. Belman. Tuvia Tanenboim in his very popular book, Catch the Jew, identified Germany as the worst offender in supporting anti-Israel activities in Judea and Samaria. German support for this anti-Israel activity comes from both the Government and the churches.

An exemplary form of Jewish resistance against one of Germany’s leading pro-Iran regimes and anti-Israel politicians unfolded last week at Jewrovision, the international song and dance competition for European Jews aged 10-19.

Young German Jews booed the Green Party’s federal culture minister, Claudia Roth, during her speech at the competition in Frankfurt on May 19, drowning out her remarks. The protestors directed their pent-up anger toward Roth with calls of “Get off the stage!” and “You’re not welcome here!”

Are We Witnessing the End of the Palestinian Authority?

By May 23, 2023

BESA Center Perspectives Paper No. 2,198, May 23, 2023

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY: In the past year, we have seen a crumbling of the Palestinian Authority’s level of control over the West Bank. The PA is seen by many Palestinians as a corrupt organization that no longer represents their interests. Recent events in Nablus and Jenin suggest the possibility of a change in the status quo and an end to the PA-Israel order.

The State Department’s problem with Israel

Since 1967, it has been searching for a formula to achieve a comprehensive peace in the Middle East. It has failed because it underestimates Arab antisemitism and intransigence.

By Mitchell Bard, IH

The US State Department was determined to prevent the establishment of a Jewish state, opposing both partition and recognition. After it failed, diplomats spent decades trying to prevent the development of an alliance. Before the Trump administration, much of its effort was devoted to forcing Israel back to the 1949 armistice lines. Now, State wants to return to the partition idea, fantasizing about creating a Palestinian state that it knows will seek to replace the Jewish state.

The Absurdities of Our Age

A sign of a civilization in headlong decline is its embrace of absurdities. Unfortunately for the United States, we are witnessing an epidemic of nihilist nonsense. Here are a few examples:

Reparations

How could a dysfunctional state like California even contemplate $800 billion in reparations?

NEW YORK — In 1784, three years after the American Revolution, New York City cantor Hendla Jochanan van Oettingen composed a prayer for the well-being of Gen. George Washington and Gov. DeWitt Clinton. That prayer may have been lost to history — had it not been for the way van Oettingen knitted Maimonides’ 13 Principles of Faith together with the newfound freedom of the original 13 states.

For Obama, the Cover-Up Was Worse than the Crime

By Jack Cashill, AM THINKER

Two enduring aphorisms emerged from the Watergate affair, both directed at then-president Richard Nixon. The one at the outset of the investigation was delivered in the form of a question: What did he know and when did he know it?” The second came at the end in the form of a warning to future presidents: The cover-up is worse than the crime.”

Thanks to the Durham report, we know the date that then-president Barack Obama learned about what John Durham calls the Clinton Intelligence plan.” If CIA Director John Brennans notes are to be believed, that date was August 3, 2016.

The Myth of White Supremacy

By Daniel Greenfield, 22 May 10:12 PM

The largest mob lynching in the South was of Italians.

The 1891 lynching of 11 Italians in New Orleans, after a roundup of over 1,000 Italians, grew out of an internal conflict among Louisiana Democrats and was praised by progressives of the era.

“These sneaking and cowardly Sicilians, the descendants of bandits and assassins,” the New York Times editorial board railed. “Lynch law was the only course open to the people of New Orleans.”
