Bill Clinton saw Vladimir Putin’s Ukraine campaign as ‘just a matter of time’

FINANCIAL TIMES

Bill Clinton: “In 2011, I realized that Putin’s attack on Ukraine is only a matter of time”

Former US President Bill Clinton:

“Vladimir Putin did not want to recognize the 1994 international agreement on security guarantees for Ukraine in exchange for its renunciation of nuclear weapons.”  This was told by former US President Bill Clinton, who, together with Boris Yeltsin, participated in the preparation and signing of the Budapest Memorandum.

I hope this isn’t true

Aben Amaala just tweeted:

Yes, there are new parliamentary elections, and more than that, a constitutional monarchy, in which King Abdullah II relinquishes the institution of the throne to his son, to be King Hussein II. And a population federation with the West Bank, and this project will be a file for great change, and it will be called the New Jordan.

Now this issue is being discussed with the capitals of decision-making. Accordingly, the Palestinian issue will be resolved, and accordingly, Saudi Arabia will normalize with Israel. Regarding the new constitutional monarchy in Jordan, the prime minister will be of Palestinian origin and from the West Bank. This project will start after the marriage of Prince Hussein at the beginning of next June. This project is presented confidentially and at a high level. All things are subject to change in all directions.

A Haredi call for compromise between religious and secular

As we await Israel’s future Haredi majority, we must commit to dialogue among all citizens to determine the common ground we share

By Manachem Bombach,  1.5.23

Recently, I met one of Israel’s leading brain surgeons — a doctor who has dedicated his life to saving others. He, his father, and his children all contribute significantly to the State of Israel. He told me that he feels depressed, hopeless, and full of rage toward the community to which I belong: Israel’s ultra-Orthodox (Haredi) community. He feels that his country and the Zionist dream are being trampled. He was overwhelmed with pain.

We sat together and talked, and experienced a transformation, understanding each other, and hugging at the end of our conversation.

What a strategy for defeating Hamas and Hezbollah looks like

The real target must be Iran.

When word broke Tuesday that Khader Adnan—a senior terrorist and serial hunger striker from Iranian-controlled Islamic Jihad—had died in an Israeli prison after 83 days of refusing food, Hamas began shelling Israeli towns and villages in the western Negev. As Islamic Jihad’s premier propagandist, Adnan was reportedly the most prominent Islamic Jihad terrorist in Jenin, where the group reigns supreme.

Between Tuesday afternoon and Wednesday morning, Islamic Jihad and Hamas rocket teams pummeled Israel with more than a hundred rockets and mortars. Israelis in communities around Gaza spent the night in their bomb shelters.

Haredi Leader’s Ultimatum to Bibi: IDF Draft Law by May 29 , or We Quit

By  Jewish News Syndicate (JNS)

Knesset Member Yitzhak Goldknopf, leader of the United Torah Judaism Party, heads to the podium at the Knesset, Dec. 29, 2022.

Yitzhak Goldknopf, leader of the United Torah Judaism Party (UTJ), said that “if the new recruitment plan isn’t settled, the government will fall apart,” speaking of a haredi conscription law the ultra-Orthodox parties are insisting upon.

Speaking to Mishpacha, a haredi magazine, which ran the quote as a headline, the ultra-Orthodox political leader, who is also Israel’s minister of construction and housing, said: “The Prime Minister received an unequivocal message from me according to which there is an order from the Council of Torah Sages that if the conscription law is not passed before the budget [which is due by May 29], we will withdraw from the government. As long as there is no other [council] directive, this is what will be done.”

Something is Very Wrong With Justin Trudeau

A sentimentalist with terrorist sympathies.

On October 3, 1980, a bomb went off just outside a synagogue on the rue Copernic in Paris. Several people were killed: a student on a motorbike, an Israeli journalist, a driver, and a caretaker. In addition, 46 people were wounded, many of them seriously. Eventually, over many years, the French authorities, with help from German intelligence as well as Israeli and French agents, tracked down the PFLP operative who left the bomb, a Lebanese sociologist named Hassan Diab. By that time, Diab was living in Canada. With the evidence it had gathered, France asked Canada to extradite Diab in 2008 so he could stand trial.

Biden Handed Over South America to China

One of the greatest betrayals in our history happened while America slept.

When Biden met with Lula da Silva, the founder of the Marxist Brazil’s Workers’ Party and a convicted criminal, it was a victory lap for both socialists.

Lula da Silva, Brazil’s former leader, had survived his bribery conviction and rigged an election that overthrew Jair Bolsonaro: his conservative patriotic predecessor. Biden had survived his own trial by fire during the midterms which locked down the 2024 Democrat nomination.

If an Arab terrorist wants to starve to death, respect his wish

Who cares? Those who hate Israel already won’t hate Israel an iota more or less if he kills himself or if Israel force feeds him.

Arabs on Temple Mount protest death of Khader AdnanSliman Khader/Flash 90

The other day, an Arab terrorist died after a hunger strike. The Woke Left are in a tizzy, accusing Israel of war crimes. Arab terror groups are talking about bringing a claim to the International Criminal Court. A barrage of rockets were launched from Gaza prompting an Israeli response.

Think about it. Voices in the Israeli government are apologizing: “We tried so hard to feed him, but he refused to eat. We tried. We begged. He just wouldn’t touch our food. It’s not our fault.”

Likud: If Ben Gvir doesn’t like how Netanyahu runs government, he can leave

T. Belman.  Bibi is still Bibi.  He wants to placate the Arabs, the US, the EU and everybody to the left of him.

Angry response comes after far-right Otzma Yehudit announces boycott of Knesset votes to protest ‘feeble’ reaction to Gaza rockets; party leader Ben Gvir challenges PM to fire him

The ruling Likud party on Wednesday slammed National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir for his far-right party’s decision to boycott Knesset votes, telling him if he did not like the way Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu runs the government he could leave.

Firing back, Ben Gvir said Otzma Yehudit would continue to refrain from voting with the coalition until Netanyahu adopted more hardline policies, and fumed over his exclusion from security deliberations on Tuesday’s fighting between Israel and Gaza-based terror groups.

Israelis and Palestinians have been holding secret talks for weeks

By Barak Ravid, author of Axios from Tel Aviv   Feb 20, 2023

Senior aides of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas have been holding secret talks for almost two months in an effort to de-escalate rising tensions in the occupied West Bank, three sources briefed on the matter told Axios.

Why it matters: The weeks of secret talks, which have not been previously reported, are among the first pieces of evidence of direct high-level engagement between the Palestinian Authority and the new right-wing Israeli government.

Maybe the US isn’t in decline after all

The Economist: ‘World’s richest, most productive, most innovative big economy’ leaving its peers ‘in the dust’

<

<

China’s leader Xi Jinping sees the United States as a nation in decline. So do many Americans. It’s not surprising, then, that a recent The Economist cover story has commanded so much attention. For in four deeply reported pages, The Economist presents a mountain of evidence to the contrary.

Anxiety over America’s decline, the editors conclude, “obscures a stunning success story – one of enduring but underappreciated outperformance. America remains the world’s richest, most productive and most innovative big economy. Along an impressive number of dimensions, it is leaving its peers further in the dust.”
