Trump Bans State regulations on AI

Peloni:  Why is it that first the Republicans in congress and now the US president require a lack of regulatory oversight on AI.  AI is a dangerously manipulating tool which should have more oversight rather than less so as to protect the public welfare.

Fact Sheet: President Donald J. Trump Ensures a National Policy Framework for Artificial Intelligence

PREVENTING A PATCHWORK OF AI REGULATIONS: Today, President Donald J. Trump signed an Executive Order to protect American AI innovation from an inconsistent and costly compliance regime resulting from varying State laws.

  • The Order directs the Attorney General to establish an AI Litigation Task Force to challenge unconstitutional, preempted, or otherwise unlawful State AI laws that harm innovation.

A 15-minute drive. A missed opportunity. Several days ago Pope Leo XIV made his first official journey outside the Vatican. The pope traveled to Turkey where he met with Catholics, Christians and Muslims. In fact the Muslim encounter included a visit to Istanbul’s Sultan Ahmed Mosque, known as the Blue Mosque, a name that highlights the thousands of hand-made turquoise ceramic tiles that grace the Muslim house of prayer.

Yoo Hoo, VP Vance––Your Character is Showing!

Peloni:  While Vance is not shy about demonstrating his contempt for Israeli MKs dealing with issues of sovereignty in Israel, he appears too timid to chastise the antisemites supporting him.  Joan’s reference to this being evidence of a character flaw is spot on accurate.  Leaders lead, while followers follow.  Whichever of these two groupings Vance might like to characterize himself, his failure in these matters are highly problematic.

“Maybe he had a stroke,” a nurse friend told me as she theorized about Tucker Carlson’s seemingly bizarre transformation from a rock-ribbed conservative commentator to a flaming anti-Semite whose hatred of both Jews and Israel found him interviewing––and nodding in delirious agreement with––fervid Hitler and Stalin admirer Nick Fuentes, among many other rabid racists.

Israel reprimands Ukrainian ambassador Korniychuk after stinging criticism of PM Netanyahu

Peloni:  It is funny reading that Ukraine’s ambassador found Netanyahu’s mention of Putin to be immoral.  Indeed, does anyone recall that Ukraine has voted more often with Russia than not on the topic of Israel, as they were each voting against Israel.  Was that moral?  More than this, what could be more immoral than to show support for the Two State Solution, particularly after October 7?  Yet support for this immoral demand remains to be Ukraine’s position as it was before October 7.  Notably, while we are on the topic of morality, Amb Korniychuk could learn a lesson or two about morality by studying Israel’s insanely overly moral military doctrine which not only has a higher moral standard than Ukraine (far higher), it results in far greater successes while taking far fewer casualties, even as it maintains far greater morale in the army and public without the need of dragging soldiers to the front lines.  Indeed, there is much which might be discussed on the subject of morality with the Ukrainian Ambassador, as I haven’t even addressed the penchant for Nazi insignia in Ukraine and the memorials of Nazi war criminals which adorn Ukraine’s countryside.

Fight To Keep China Out of U.S. K-12 Classrooms Comes to Congress

American children in grades K-12 are influenced by many things, including their parents, peers, and various forms of media. China, Qatar, and Iran don’t belong on the list, and three recent bills moving through Congress indicate that many lawmakers agree.

The shaky state of American Jewry

Sarah N. Stern | Dec 9, 2025

To describe the state of American Jewry after the warm spring of the 1950s through the early 1970s is akin to watching a shriveled brown leaf fluttering aimlessly in the wind in the midst of a cold and bitter winter.

At mid-century, the images of the Holocaust and its aftermath were still seared into the consciousness of the American public. Today, young students and even congressional staffers I meet on Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C., dismiss it as “ancient history.” The moral memory that once anchored U.S. society has been steadily eroding.

The U.S. seized an oil tanker off the coast of Venezuela, President Donald Trump confirmed Wednesday.

The tanker’s ownership and origin were not revealed, but Trump said the vessel was “very large” while speaking to reporters on Wednesday. The president did not offer the rationale behind the seizure during his remarks. “As you probably know, we’ve just seized a tanker on the coast of Venezuela,” he said. “Large tanker, very large, largest one ever seized actually.”

Did the Jews kill Jesus?

Diane Bederman | Dec 8, 2025

We are coming up to Christmas. The celebration of the birth of Jesus. A holiday that brings joy to everyone. How can it not? So much happiness; Santa laughing, presents shared, families together. Christian or not, this time of year is lovely.

I, along with my fellow Jewish classmates, “celebrated” Christmas back in the 1950’s. It was lovely. We put decorations on the tree, we shared gifts, we sang songs. We all knew we were not Christian; that we were Jews and celebrated Chanukah around the same time. But Christmas time was always a fun time – not religious for us. But we all understood the importance to our Christian friends.

TRUMP DEMANDS ELECTIONS IN UKRAINE — ZELENSKY RESPONDS WITH CONDITIONS & NO TERRITORIAL CONCESSIONS!

Peloni:  The first 4mins of this Ukrainian news video provides an fair estimate of recent events including Trump’s renewed call for Zelensky to finally face election, and Zelensky calling for US security assurances.  What is interesting in the conversation which follows from the talking heads is that they appear to be afraid of nothing so much as new elections, claiming that it will provide Russia the opportunity to install a “fifth column” govt.  The pro-war faction in Ukraine does indeed have much to be concerned about, but with Ukraine being Ukraine, well, elections should be expected to be highly influenced by those who count the votes.
