Peloni:  As the clock goes tick tock, Trump continues to display no rush in choosing to move forward with either the deal he claims to have with the Iranians or to return to war.  Meanwhile a hush in recent days has been the most positive aspect of what came following the pregnant pause which met Trump’s demand that the Arab states join the Abraham Accords.  Of course, forcing the Arabs to join a peace deal which undermines the rudimentary aspects of both their society and their religion has little chance of bringing peace, but it would provide Trump with a commitment to managed the strife which might arise in the region without the need of the US to fall back from its long anticipated pivot to China.

Peloni:  Britain is caught in a trap in which the British hold a majority share in their country, but the power is more and more concentrated in the hands of those whose determination remains set to keep this majority quiet and quiescent, as if in anticipation of a Dhimmi future which has already been preetermined for them.  Notably, a similar future to this is intended for America as well, but will America have what is needed to save itself from such a fate as Britain is facing, and in doing so, will it lead to Britain being saved as well?

On the same day, May 16, and at the same time, two rallies were held in London. One was Unite the Kingdom, a patriotic gathering of 60,000 marchers, who are alarmed at Muslim immigration transforming their country, worried about a decline in social cohesion, and furious that the government is making major decisions without consulting them. The other, and far smaller march of 20,000 people, was not about Britain at all, but about a faraway event that occurred more than 76 years ago: what the Arabs call the “Nakba” or catastrophe, which is how they describe the flight of Arabs from Mandatory Palestine, and then Israel, between the fall of 1947 and 1949.

Peloni:  As you read this, consider the relevant context which Hassan’s story holds for those Muslim leaders who are now faced with the dilemma of accepting Trump’s demands of joining the Abraham Accords or having to face the consequences of being left outside of any influence on the coming new world order.  A society built upon 1400 years of rigid training to subjugate, slaughter and conquer the infidel is being required by the infidels to itself submit infidel demands of change, moderation and modernization.  Is this doable?  Some societies are already moving towards this outcome, but the pace of change has been tepid and cautious, and even now such things are never referenced in the same conversation as peace with Israel.  More on this later.

Peloni:  The time for Lebanon to be free of its foreign control is long past, but it has been long past for several decades.  The question is who will free Lebanon from being chained as human chattel.  Certainly, the Lebanese have shown no such capability to make is so and are instead intent upon waiting for some outside force to set them free.  America could play such a role in affecting the freedom of Lebanon from the Iranian suzerainty held over it, but the possibility of this coming to fruition is uncertain.  So we will see.

Peloni:  The threat raised by Trump against Oman was very sincere.  The Strait will be opened and free of tolls, fees or charges, and that policy stands for both Iran and Oman.

Many were surprised on May 27 when US President Donald Trump appeared to threaten Oman. “The Strait is going to be open to everybody. It’s international waters. We’ll watch over it, but nobody’s going to control it. Oman will behave like everybody else, or we’ll have to blow them up. They understand that,” the US president said.

The Term and Its Meaning

The word “Nakba” is Arabic for “catastrophe.” For Palestinians and their supporters who have become conflated with and indistinguishable from Israel detractors, it marks the displacement of roughly 700,000 Arabs during the 1948 Arab-Israeli War, the evacuation and destruction of villages, and the broader loss of land following the Arab rejection of a two-state solution, and war that five Arab states launched against the fledgling Jewish state. It claims that Arabs were “expelled” where the historic truth shows that many fled of their own volition, urged by the Arab leaders at the time to do so. The “Nakba” has become the cornerstone of Palestinian national identity. Rather than being rooted in a Declaration of Independence, it gave birth to their declaration of resistance.
