Peloni:  Bill Maher reminds us that words are meaningful, and the words being spewed from the mouths of today’s Democratic party carry the meaning of subterfuge, anarchy and literal revolutionary elimination of the American Constitution and Western civilization.  Good for Maher in making the statement that so long as these are the words defining the American Democratic party his vote is in play.  Joining his voice to that of Ragin Cajun James Carvelle whose political strategies led to the Clinton revolution some thirty years ago, and the eight congressmen Maher referenced in his monologue, this is a really small but meaningful response to the long quiet which has led the Democratic party to become a party focused on normalizing hatred, indecency, terror and revolution.  In fact, it is because of the lonag quiet objections of men such as Maher and Carville that the party of Kennedy has so solidly morphed into the party of Mamdani that not even a dozen party loyalists and congressmen are making their objections know regarding the Islamist-Communist take-over of the democratic party, and while Maher has focused his comments on the Communist aspect of this modern day junta, it must be made equally clear by Maher and his fellow Democratic conscientious objectors that it is a two front takeover of his party that is trying to also take over his country as well.

Peloni:  Rabbi Pesach Wolicki reviews an important interview with Gen. Jack Keane, and explains that Washington is on the wrong track, which is why its efforts to achieve any of its stated goals continue to be met with disappointment.  Using the important reflection which comes from Iran hitting everyone in the region, while awkwardly maintaining a hands-off approach to Israel, provides the US with the example of how to approach the war with success, ie with a resolve of targeting the foundations on which the Iranian regime is dependent, rather than with a resolve limited to striking the regime’s military capacities.  It falls back to the concept of unconditional surrender being the underlying strategy rather than a sometimes employed campaign slogan.  Iran has demonstrated that it is fully committed to winning this war.  So has Israel.  Only when Washington changes its course to match these levels of commitment in this war might the victory being sought by  Washington, which has thus far remained elusory, become a real possibility.  So, has Trump’s strategy turned the page as Gen. Keane and Rabbi Wolicki explain he needs to do, or is he still posturing only to achieve added leverage in negotiations, as has been Trump’s chosen course thus far?

Peloni:  As the US is positioning itself to pivot to Asia, its stated position is to rely more heavily on allies capable of not only defending themselves, but promoting US interests on America’s behalf.   So far, there has been scant evidence that Trump’s Gulf allies, for all the deference and promotion he has allowed them, has any intention of filling the role described above.  In fact, the Saudi participation in the recent strike in Iraq was notably accompanied by the accompanied statement from Riyadh indicating that MBS is still calling for an end to the war, much as explained by Hussain Abdul-Hussain below.  In fact, of all of Trump’s allies, only Israel has demonstrated both the will and capacity to succinctly work with Washington to achieve the objectives of pursuing joint interests, and for Trump’s pursuit of an Asia pivot, this void of support which only Israel has filled in any meaningful way, is a demonstration of Washington’s other global allies showing greater deference for Chinese interests, which leave Washington trapped in the Middle East, than US interests.  Of course, the compliment to recognizing this is whether we really want the Gulf states asserting themselves beyond their borders…

This time, it is a sweeping agreement to disarm Hamas, establish a new Palestinian government in Gaza, withdraw the IDF after implementation, and replace Israeli forces with an international stabilization force and a new Palestinian police force.

Peloni:  Alan Dershowitz raises the question about Democrats standing up to the bigotry in their party.  In doing so, notes that both Sen. Fetterman and Rep. Gottheimer stand as important symbols declaring that bigotry has no place in the Democratic party, even as bigotry currently is dominating the Democratic party.  What is important in noting this, however, is not just the reality of the Democrats having plunged like so many sea lions off the cliffs of insanity, but the stark symbols by which these two men represent, offering their party a light in the darkness when its members come to grasp the consequences for having so badly betrayed not only the pro-Jewish roots from which their party was based, but also the consequences of succumbing to an electoral strategy which only holds local rather than national support.  Indeed, Mamdani is not the face of America, and America is not the plaything of the far Left, making its near absolute control over the Democratic party a disaster for the national ambitions of the party in the coming years.  Unlike the Making America Great movement across the US, which aspires to support the goals of returning America to its roots, the return of good governance and the recognition of America’s identity as an acknowledged and important asset, the Democrats have by and large chosen to advocate for terrorism, empowering the worst aspects of human societies, the opposition for which the modern Democratic party was originally structured.  Fetterman and Gottheimer maintain this original credo of their party, and the values which many of their fellow Democrats are themselves too craven to publicly support.  Yet, after a period of being left in the political wilderness on the national stage for a number of years, the Democrats will ultimately reflect and change course.  Afterall, the pursuit of power is what drove the Left to morph into its current Far Left iteration, and likely that same desire is all that might one day bring a sense of sanity back to the Democratic party, assuming it actually survives its attempts to emulate the many sea lions in their eager pursuit of folly.

There is no good reason – in logic, history, philosophy – for the left, especially the hard left, to so vehemently oppose Israel and Zionism, its national liberation movement. Being anti-Israel has become a litmus test for today’s left. It hasn’t always been that way. When the nation-state of the Jewish people was first recognized by the United Nations in 1947, left-wing countries, individuals, and even the Communist Party rallied to its support.

The Antiterrorism and Effective Death Penalty Act of 1996, a flawed but fairly sensible piece of legislation, put into places measures like the ability to classify foreign terrorist groups and ban funding to them, as well as keeping terrorists out of America, and it also created the U.S. Alien Terrorist Removal Court (ATRC).

I recently wrote a column discussing how liberal American Jews are feeling alienated from a progressive political establishment and Democratic Party that have become increasingly anti-Israel and antisemitic. A few days after publication, the results of a survey were reported showing that 44 percent of Jews polled (presumably liberal) held favorable views of New York socialist mayor Zohran Mamdani – despite his history of inflammatory rhetoric concerning Jews and Israel and the dramatic increase in antisemitic incidents in the city since his inauguration (including a recent stabbing by an assailant shouting “Allahu Akbar”)!
