President Trump has once again announced what sounds like a historic breakthrough. This time, it is a sweeping agreement to disarm Hamas, establish a new Palestinian government in Gaza, withdraw the IDF after implementation, and replace Israeli forces with an international stabilization force and a new Palestinian police force.
The announcement declares:
“Today, the Peace Council reached a historic agreement for the complete disarmament of Hamas and all other armed organizations in the Gaza Strip…Gaza will finally be governed by a new Palestinian government… Once disarmament is complete, the IDF will withdraw, and an international stabilization force will work together with a new Palestinian police force… The threat that emerged from Gaza on October 7 will not be allowed to rebuild.”
It all sounds wonderful.
It is also fantasy.
Whether President Trump genuinely believes this plan can work or whether he is making a diplomatic move for broader strategic reasons is almost beside the point. The reality is exactly the same as with his repeated announcements about reaching peace with Iran. How many times did he announce how a peace deal with Iran has been achieved?
I told people then not to panic.
I am telling people now not to panic.
Neither plan, Iran nor Hamas. is going to succeed because both are based on the same fatal misunderstanding: that jihadi Islam can be negotiated into abandoning its ideological mission.
It cannot.
This is not a territorial conflict. It is not a dispute over borders or economics. It is an ideological and religious war. Hamas is not fighting because it lacks jobs, infrastructure, or political representation. Hamas, like the Islamic regime of Iran, are the same jihadi forces just one Sunni and one Shiite. And jihad exists because its mission is to destroy Israel, conquer all non-Muslim countries around the world and replace them all with Islamic rule.
That mission is not negotiable.
This is the truth about Hamas and the Islamic regime of Iran, that for decades has invested enormous treasure, military power, and religious legitimacy into the destruction of Israel and the spread of its revolutionary Islamist ideology around the world. It is not going to voluntarily dismantle that project because diplomats ask nicely.
Likewise, Hamas is not going to peacefully surrender its weapons simply because President Trump’s international agreement says it should.
History teaches exactly the opposite.
The international community has repeatedly promised to demilitarize terrorist organizations.
The United Nations UNIFIL force was supposed to prevent Hezbollah from rearming in southern Lebanon. Instead, Hezbollah accumulated over 150,000 rockets aimed at Israeli civilians, under the watchful eye and even assistance of UNIFIL forces.
The Palestinian Authority was supposed to educate its people for peace. Instead, generations were raised on incitement via internationally funded textbooks and television programs, while terrorists continued receiving salaries.
International observers have failed repeatedly because the problem has never been insufficient monitoring. The problem is an ideology committed to jihad, that the international community ignores.
That ideology does not disappear with signatures on paper.
Personally, I wish Prime Minister Netanyahu would simply look President Trump in the eye and say:
“Mr. President, this plan is not going to work. The only real solution is for the jihadi population of Gaza to leave via Egypt, and for Israel to apply full Israeli sovereignty over the entire Gaza Strip and rebuild it with Jewish communities.”
That is the only solution that changes the strategic reality.
It is the only solution that permanently removes Gaza as a launching pad for jihad.
It is the only solution that restores genuine Israeli deterrence and protects Israelis longterm.
And it is the only solution that demonstrates to every jihadi movement in the region that initiating another October 7 carries permanent territorial consequences.
That is how wars are truly won.
But Netanyahu is not saying that publicly.
Instead, he is managing one of the most important strategic relationships Israel has ever had.
And let’s be honest about something important.
President Trump is the American president under whose leadership all of our hostages finally came home, and one of his conditions for achieving the hostage release was Israel agreeing to play along with this international Gaza peace force. That achievement matters enormously. Netanyahu understands that maintaining close cooperation with Washington is vital for Israel’s broader security interests.
Politics is politics.
Sometimes leaders accept diplomatic language they know will never materialize because preserving the larger alliance serves a greater national interest.
So no, I am not panicking.
Just as I never believed Iran would voluntarily accept the kind of “peace” Trump repeatedly announced over recent months, I do not believe Hamas will voluntarily disarm itself and abandon jihad.
Reality has not changed.
Our enemy has not changed.
The only question is how long it will take the world to recognize what October 7 should already have taught everyone: you cannot build lasting peace on illusions, you don’t talk with jihadi Muslims. You destroy them.
Peace will come only after decisive victory over jihad.
Anything less simply postpones the next war.
We will overcome. Patience, don’t panic and strengthen your belief in God.
