Edwin Black’s new book, Israel Strikes Iran: Operation Rising Lion – The 20-Year Backstory, is a must-read. Don’t let the fact that you are unlikely to understand the details (unless you are a defense analyst or a nuclear weapons specialist) deter you.
Peloni: Recall further that the real power behind Iran is China. When Qatar moved towards the US for protections it did not receive while remaining in the Chinese sphere of influence, ie allied with Iran, the vast wealth of Qatar became a potential target in any upcoming conflict between the Israel and Iran, but only from Iran, not Israel.

There is a certain incoherence about the belief that an US executive order protecting Qatar was issued in relation to preventing any threat of attack from Israel. Indeed, is it a reasonable conclusion that the US would need a formal declarative arrangement with Qatar to keep the Israelis from attacking the gulf state? Notably, if there was any doubt about Israel’s deference to the US, we might recall that Bibi called off the final attack of the 12 Day War in complete deference to Trump’s statement that he do so. We might recall further that it is being reported that Israel’s attack on Qatar was actually conducted with “quiet American approval,” as stated by Amit Segal among others.
Peloni: It is difficult to argue with anything stated here. The Qataris have played the role of a major destabilizing force in the region and have earned the well sewn enmity with which it is generally held by its neighbors, both near and far. President Donald Trump’s September 29, 2025, executive order granting Qatar a NATO-style security guarantee is a strategic blunder built on a foundation of fantasy. The order cites the need to protect Qatar from “continuing threats … posed by foreign aggression.” The question is, what threats? What foreign aggression? The State of Qatar is not a victim in the Middle East; it is a source of the instability that plagues the region. The only “foreign aggression” it should fear is the consequence of its own policies.
Peloni: In subtle but certain steps, Megyn Kelly has demonstrated her willingness to promote the very heart of Jew Hatred which is being promulgated on the Right, and that is both disappointing and unacceptable at the same time. Good work by Konstantin for calling her out on this, and for Ollie sharing this more widely.

Peloni: Alan describes himself as an enemy of the Democratic party. He also hopes to see Curt Sliwa or Andrew Cuomo drop out of the race. If Mamdani is still successful in becoming mayor of NYC, Alan suggests that the focus shift towards seeing Mamdani’s agenda fail, thus preventing any successes on which the Democrats might build in the future. Alan also addresses the issue of antisemitism and in this he states the most important goal should be to see Israel keep winning.

Peloni: Avivi states that Trump’s deal was written by Israel while presented by the US. He asserts that the deal makes Israel the cornerstone in a global alliance against Russia, China and Iran. He also indicates that Qatar has switched alliance partners from that of Iran to the US, but that Qata must deliver Hamas’ agreement to Trump’s 20 point plan to demonstrate that they have any relevance in this alliance, and Avivi is very confident that Qatar will succeed in getting Hamas to agree.

Not just in America, but wherever Jewish life is under threat. Most especially in the only Jewish state, Israel.
Peloni: As the old conception in Israel make October 7 possible in Israel, a similar mental derangement permeates much of the West as public support for terror reaches an all time new level of insanity. Recalling the adage that those who can not learn from the past are destined to revisit it, the anticipation of similar assaults to October 7 in the West would seem both logical and imminent.
And the next Oct 7 attacks may happen in Paris, London or New York City.

Live every day like it’s your last is a popular saying. The Talmud[i] makes a similar statement, but its concept of living life to the fullest is more sobering. The focus is on being mindful about the opportunities for repentance. This is because each day may be the last opportunity to repent and even on that last day, by repenting, a person can earn eternal life.
Peloni: Ho Spartan can Israel become? Does it have the means to be entirely independent? Certainly not while boasting of the successes it is achieving on the battlefield using American armaments, but this should not inspire a focused effort to make the next generation of Israeli armaments entirely centered around a domestic and dominating Israeli defense industry. To be certain, there is no greater supporter of Israel than American defense contractors, other than the American Evangelicals, but if Israel is to become independent of needing American consent for its own defenses, the shift towards a domestically arms industry, which is independent of foreign weapon systems as possible, must be made.
Analysts agree with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu that Israel could become more self-sufficient, but there are clear limits to the push.

On September 24, Syrian President Ahmad al-Shara’a addressed the UN General Assembly in New York, where he is still on the UN sanctions list for his leadership of an al-Qa’ida affiliate (though he is likely to be de-listed soon). The transformation of al-Shara’a from wanted terrorist into respected statesman has taken place with remarkable speed. Few would have expected a man who celebrated the events of October 7 to enter into negotiations with Israel on a bilateral security agreement.
Peloni: It is important to grasp that all nations work from a standard of self interest. This would be true even if all nations were actually some form of practicing democracy, and in fact, the nations which have recently come to the support of the terror regime in Gaza were all democratic nations, and that they now stand on the same side of this issue with Russia, Iran and China.
Many nations cast their votes not on the basis of what is right or wrong, or what is just or unjust, but according to their narrow interests.
