Ayelet Shaked: Until he was indicted, Netanyahu opposed any reform to the judicial system
T. Belman. Shaked said ” Let them decide what is more important to them, boycotting Bibi or saving democracy.” I previously said the same thing.
Outgoing Interior Minister: Netanyahu always preferred a government with the left and the reason a right-wing government has now been formed is that the other parties are boycotting him.
By Ido Ben Porat, INN Nov 29, 2022, 6:13 AM (GMT+2)

Outgoing Interior Minister Ayelet Shaked participated on Monday in a conference at the College of Management Academic Studies and predicted that the new government will fulfill its term.
Shaked said that the Override Clause does not abolish the Supreme Court as the left claims, and that “it only changes its dialogue with the Knesset”.
Gantz leaving Defense Ministry: I approved 10,000 housing units in Judea and Samaria
T. Belman. Gantz considers that extending sovereignty over Area C or saying no to the US as extreme policies. He would probably say that the Irgun was also extreme. Just because the mainstream is mainstream, doesn’t mean they are right. He prefers recognizing reality rather than changing it. But if reality isn’t challenged, how do we know its reality?
Gantz is satisfied with his two years as Defense Minister and promises again that he will not sit with Netanyahu: “If the Iranians attack Israel – we will talk again.”
Israel National News 29.11.22

Defense Minister Benny Gantz on Monday gave an interview to Channel 13 News, shortly before he leaves his post and heads to the opposition.
On the new coalition, Gantz said, “I am very concerned. Extremism is going to meet reality. Extremism does not lead to any real solution – not in our foreign arenas, not in our domestic arenas and not in the social challenges of the State of Israel.”
To the question of what bothers him the most, Gantz replied, “I think that where extremism meets reality and behaves in extreme ways – it will set the area on fire, in the security reality for sure. You can do a lot of nonsense in all kinds of places and set the area on fire. I hope they don’t do these things. Even in terms of internal matters – I heard (Bezalel) Smotrich say that he will ‘appoint people based on their kippah’ – what does that mean? We said goodbye three weeks ago to [IDF General] Dan Ziv, a hero, who was completely secular. Was his faith not worth as much because he didn’t have a kippah on his head?”
Further progress made in talks between Likud and Religious Zionist parties
Likud and Religious Zionist parties say they made progress in negotiations and are close to signing an agreement.
The Likud and Religious Zionist parties announced early Tuesday morning that they made progress in negotiations overnight and are on the threshold of signing an agreement, and have agreed on most issues. The negotiations will continue tomorrow.
The two parties also said that, contrary to publications, the Religious Zionist Party is not opposed to the appointment of a temporary Knesset Speaker and it agreed to Prime Minister-designate Netanyahu’s request for the appointment of a temporary Knesset Speaker immediately.
This is the main disagreement between Religious Zionism and Likud
T. Belman. Smotrich should hang tough. Not only because area C is our biblical heartland and is crucial to Israel’s defense but also because it is long past due for Israel to say “no” to the US and the EU. This should be none of their business. It is an internal matter.
“If not now, when?
While MK Smotrich demands control of Civil Administration, Netanyahu worries policies will cause diplomatic conflicts with US, EU, report says.
Benjamin Netanyahu (L) and Bezalel Smotrich (R)Olivier Fitoussi/Flash90
The main sticking point in the coalition negotiations between the Likud party and Religious Zionism is responsibility for the Civil Administration and the creation of a policy for settlement and destruction, Israel Hayom reported.
According to the report, Religious Zionism has noted that the Civil Administration ignores illegal construction by Arabs while dealing harshly with the same actions by Jews. The party’s chairman, MK Bezalel Smotrich, wishes his party to take responsibility for the Civil Administration, with the intention of “ending the takeover of Area C” and making it easier for Jews to build in the area.
The Unspoken Genocide of Christians in Nigeria
T. Belman. Nigeria is one of the most populated countries in Africa., with approximately 218.5 million people in an area of 923,768 km2 (356,669 sq mi), 45% are Muslim. Muhammadu Buhari , a Muslim, assumed office on 29 May 2015.
The world ignores these tragedies.
The black lives that don’t matter.
Did you know that, all throughout sub-Saharan Africa—in Nigeria, Mozambique, the Central African Republic, Mali, the Democratic Republic of Congo—Muslims have for many years been terrorizing and slaughtering Christians?
Nor is there any hope on the horizon: problems that cannot be honestly addressed are doomed to persist in perpetuity.
Enter the so-called “mainstream media.” As far as they are concerned, the persecution of Christians in Africa is a byproduct of economic and territorial grievances.

A Good-Will Government Was Possible in Israel
By Naftali Bennett. NYT Nov. 27, 2022

A year and a half ago, I made a difficult decision: to break from my political base and form a government with people I couldn’t have imagined working with in my wildest dreams.
Israel was at one of its lowest moments, polarized and paralyzed: four rounds of elections in two years, massive riots in Arab and mixed towns, and killings of Israeli Jews and Israeli Arabs, plus hundreds injured. The Palestinian terrorist organization Hamas had just shot rockets into Jerusalem after the annual Flag Parade in the Old City.

Donald Trump 2022: Forged in a Crucible of White Hot Fire

I first started writing a blog in 2009, after Barack Obama’s election. My first post, America’s Original Sin, addressed the then-nascent movement to disparage and denigrate America because the Founding Fathers didn’t have the foresight in 1787 to write a constitution that would dovetail with the mores of 21st-century snowflakes.
The title of my blog, Imperfect America, is followed by a quote attributed to the French philosopher, Voltaire: “Perfect is the enemy of the good.” Our nation is a billboard-sized testament to that adage. Rarely have we seen perfect, but we frequently see good. And that’s the problem with leftists… They want to sacrifice good for the fiction of perfection.

Palestinian Rage Over Qatar’s Massive Spending On the World Cup
BY

Tiny but very rich Qatar has spent between $220 and $240 billion on hosting the World Cup, which it hopes will put it on the map, boost its image in the world, win friends and influence people. That “boost to its image” is clearly not going to happen. Instead, the world media have been full of criticism for Qatar’s bribery of FIFA officials in order to be awarded the 2020 venue to host the games, and full, too, of harrowing stories describing, and deploring, Qatar’s savage mistreatment of the tens of thousands of migrant workers from South Asia who were imported to build seven new stadiums, as well as roads, hotels, and a new airport. Some 6,500 of those workers died while working in Qatar, from overwork – 80-to-90 hours a weeks – and from extreme heat. Qatar’s bribery of FIFA officials, and its mistreatment of the 30,000 migrant workers who built the infrastructure, turn out to be the two main stories — other than the soccer matches themselves — that the world media has focussed on, much to Qatar’s chagrin.

Netanyahu and Smotrich meet for three hours, make progress in coalition talks
Likud says the meeting was held in a good atmosphere and the sides will meet again on Monday.
By Hezki Baruch, INN Nov 28, 2022, 12:59 AM (GMT+2)

Netanyahu and Smotrich meetSpokesperson
Prime Minister-designate Benjamin Netanyahu and MK Bezalel Smotrich on Sunday evening held a meeting, which lasted approximately three hours, together with the negotiating teams of the Likud Party and the Religious Zionist Party.
“The meeting was held in a good atmosphere and progress was made on all topics. The parties will meet again tomorrow with the goal of establishing a right-wing government as soon as possible,” the Likud said in a statement published after the meeting.
GOP Representative McClintock Calling For Audit Before More Aid Is Sent To Ukraine

Representative Tom McClintock (R-CA) sat down on Fox Business Network’s “Kennedy” on Tuesday. He said he could not continue support for Ukraine until the European Union matches the U.S. aid already provided. McClintock and other Republicans are calling for a complete audit of American money sent and assurances that the country has had an honest relationship with the Future’s Exchange (FTX).
The perils of Palestine
“It is difficult to imagine any other issue for which the international media have been so successfully exploited—from the point of view of the Arabs—as has the Palestinian issue. Not since the time of Dr. Goebbels has there ever been a case in which continual repetition of a lie has borne such great fruits.” — Prof. Amnon Rubinstein, in “Palestinian Lies,” Haaretz, July 30, 1976.
Little analytical acumen is needed to grasp that a Palestinian state would be a multi-dimensional threat to Israel.
Support for a Palestinian state is driven either by malice or ignorance: Malice is expressed by the desire to undermine Israel’s national security and/or the personal safety of its citizens. Ignorance is reflected in a gross lack of knowledge and/or appreciation of the consequences that a Palestinian state would have for Israel.
Jordan to get $845 million in annual US aid, Amman says
By AFP Today, 7:59 pm
The United States will provide Jordan with more than $845 million in annual financial support, officials in Amman said Sunday, as the country remains heavily dependent on foreign aid.
Prime Minister Bisher al-Khasawneh was present at the signing ceremony of the “agreement with the United States for the allocation of annual financial support of $845.1 million,” a Jordanian government statement said.
Minister of Planning and International Cooperation Zeina Toukan and USAID official Margaret Spears signed the accord in Amman, it added.

Russia Risks Knockout Blow in War as Putin Hits Rock Bottom
T. Belman. As you know, I am a firm believer in what Col Douglas MacGregor says about the war, namely that Ukraine doesn’t have a chance. This article says otherwise. It was sent to me by Bear Klein who used to be a valued contributor here but left because he couldn’t abide by my pro-Russian stance.
So who is right? Your comments would be appreciated.
SOUTHERN ENGLAND—After a string of Russian defeats in the war, U.K. Defence Secretary Ben Wallace is urging Ukraine to “keep up the pressure, keep up the momentum” and continue their rapid-fire attacks on Vladimir Putin’s forces through the winter months.
“Given the advantage the Ukrainians have in equipment training and quality of their personnel against the demoralized, poorly trained, poorly equipped Russians, it would be in the Ukraine’s interest to maintain momentum through the winter,” Wallace said. “They have 300,000 pieces of arctic warfare kit, from the international community”—a crucial requirement for any winter offensive.
“The Kafirs [Unbelievers] Should Be Killed, All of Them”: The Persecution of Christians, October 2022

Kill all of them, and burn their houses, these notorious Christians.” — Persecution.org, October 10, 2022, Democratic Republic of Congo.
