My hat is off to Mark Levin for his opening statement in Sunday’s edition of Life, Liberty and Levin. While Mark’s show is always worth watching, this particular segment is clearly in the must-see category for anyone concerned about the totalitarian turn Democrat party (world’s oldest political party) has taken.
T. Belman. Any harm Israel may suffer will be due to the hysteria the Left has orchestrated and not the actual legislation. What is being proposed by this government is to change the Court from a liberal one to a conservative one, which is what Pres Trump did in the US by appointing 3 Conservative judges. i.e., the law remained the same. Only the deciders were changed. Also, the override law as proposed brings Israel closer to the British parliamentary system in which Parliament is supreme.
The proposed Judicial Reform will make Israel more democratic, not less.

(JNS) Israeli President Isaac Herzog’s latest plea for judicial-reform compromise was more than merely impassioned. Indeed, his speech to the nation on Thursday evening was downright angry, and with good reason.
As he pointed out in his concise address—delivered with a cracking voice and grim facial expression—he spent the previous 10 weeks “working around the clock, meeting with everybody, including with those who don’t agree with [him], even those who refuse to admit it.” He also mentioned the “harsh and hurtful” criticism he’s received for his efforts, though he claimed to take it “with love.”

Everybody in the world, and just about everybody in Israel, appropriately is condemning the vigilante rampage through Hawara this week, in which dozens of cars, businesses, and homes were torched following the Palestinian terrorist murder in that terrible town of two Israeli brothers.
Obviously, I share these sentiments. Not only is such vigilante action immoral, but it mars Israel’s reputation around the world. And it risks further escalation of terrorism.

WASHINGTON — Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich landed in Washington on Sunday morning, where he was to speak later in the day at the Israel Bonds conference, an appearance clouded by the controversy caused by his remarks earlier this month calling for a Palestinian town to be “wiped out.”

WASHINGTON — Finally, there is a peace deal of sorts in the Middle East. Not between Israel and the Arabs, but between Saudi Arabia and Iran, which have been at each other’s throats for decades. And brokered not by the United States but by China.
Israel’s dream of forming an Arab alliance against Iran was shattered on Friday with the news that Iran and Saudi Arabia have agreed to restore diplomatic ties within two months. The dramatic announcement is likely to redraw the regional map of friends and foes, and will have global reverberations. The agreement provides Iran with much-needed legitimacy in the Arab world, and could lead to further deals with Arab states like Egypt, pave the way to end the war in Yemen, offer a workable solution to the crisis in Lebanon, and even lead to a resumption of negotiations to save the nuclear deal.

Tonight the celebration of the holiday of Purim begins. Purim is a Jewish holiday often neglected outside the more religious communities in America and Israel because it commemorates an attempt to exterminate the Jews.
And we all know that stopped being a problem long ago.
If Purim had concluded with a lesson on tolerance, liberal Jews might be more inclined to celebrate it. Unfortunately it ends with a genocidal madman being hung from a tree and the Jews fighting for their lives, winning and slaughtering their enemies.
And instead of feeling guilty about it, their descendants eat pastries, dress up in costumes and get drunk. At least those of their descendants who believe in survival instead of surrender.

Tel Aviv District Commander Amichai Eshed, whose removal from his position with the Israel Police was announced Thursday by National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir, reportedly told Israel Police Commissioner Kobi Shabtai that he was “unfit” to lead the police and that he was making a mistake he would regret, in a call between the two before the decision was made public.
Excerpts of the call were widely reported in Hebrew-language media on Thursday and Friday, citing unnamed persons familiar with the “difficult” exchange.
