(JNS) No one is happier about the apparent deadlock in the nuclear talks between the United States and Iran than Israeli Prime Minister Yair Lapid. Had the Iranians finally agreed to a new and even weaker agreement than the one that Barack Obama negotiated in 2015, it would have been a political disaster for the head of the makeshift temporary Israeli coalition government. Lapid has been all-in on the notion that soft-pedaling opposition to President Joe Biden’s reckless push for appeasement of Tehran was more effective than a stand that would seek to mobilize opposition to such a disastrous policy. A new agreement would also expose Lapid to devastating criticism from former Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in advance of the Knesset election on Nov. 1.

(JNS) The Deputy Commander of the IDF’s Nahal Reconnaissance Unit, Maj. Bar Falah, was killed Tuesday night when two Palestinian Arab terrorists, one an officer in the U.S.-funded and trained Palestinian Authority security services, opened fire on Falah and his soldiers. Falah’s soldiers returned fire and killed the two men.

Just when you thought it couldn’t get any crazier in the Middle East for Israel, Russian president Vladimir Putin has offered direct military cooperation and assistance to the Palestinian Authority.

With Russian troops already in Syria as well as Russia being in support of Iranian encroachment on Israel’s border, Putin is now applying even more pressure to the Jewish state by offering military assistance to “palestinians” in Judea and Samaria. While there would be no way for Russia to actually deliver this sort of military assistance, the prospects of Russian interference in Judea and Samaria should be frightening to everyone.

Axios reported, U.S. urges Israel to take steps to stabilize Palestinian Authority 

It’s an old story; the Arabs cause trouble and Israel is blamed.

Two examples of this pattern are;

• After the intifada in 2001 in which 1038 Israelis were murdered, Pres Bush sent Sen Mitchel to Israel on a fact finding mission. He produced the Mitchell Report in April 30, 2001 which recommended, inter alia, the freezing of Israel settlement activity  … and other Israeli confidence-building measures, and
• Every time Hamas fires rockets by the hundreds at Israel civilians, Israel is blamed. The solution demanded was that Israel negotiate a ceasefire and make concessions.
