Will Netanyahu Return? What Israel’s Last-minute Election Polls Tell Us – and What They Don’t

New poll gives right-wing bloc 61 Knesset seats

Brushing off dire polling, Shaked says Jewish Home will ‘run to the end’

Another poll indicated that if Shaked withdrew, the results wouldn’t be different. She is holding stead at 2% even after Bibi said he would crush her. By staying in the race she is in effect calling Bibi’s bluff. Bibi will shift votes to her if he needs her 4 seats.

The far right is rising, the left is in trouble and Netanyahu’s fate hangs in the balance: Israel’s last-minute pre-election polls are crucial windows into who will win power in Israel – and who Israelis really are

By Dahlia Scheindlin, HAARETZ

Amazingly, you’re still here, wondering what will happen in the Israeli elections next week. I have no answer, but will try to address a closely related question: What do we know from the polls? What can we expect them to tell us in the final, fateful days, and how much should we believe them??

A Conservative-Islamist Alliance

By Sam Westrop, WESTERN ISLAMISM   October 25, 2022

Images adapted from neo-Nazi cartoons illustrate Muslim and Christians standing together against Jews, blacks, homosexuals and an array of various, ostensible symbols of the evils of progressivism.

Part 1: Trouble in Dearborn

In October, Muslim protestors descended on successive meetings of the Dearborn Public Schools board, to demand the removal of “LGBTQ” books that “promote pornography” and “homosexuality” from Dearborn’s school libraries. Videos revealed angry scenes and overcrowded rooms, with loud jeers and booing directed at speakers and school board officials, while placards in Arabic and English featured denunciations of the “big sin” of homosexuality and the “grooming” of children.

US guarantees of the Israel-Lebanon accord: carved in stone or a mirage?

T. Belman. This is a terrific article. I have been saying the same thing, like, forever. In all cases they get us to accept worse terms than we would otherwise demands.. Lebanon gas deal is a case in point.

The 100 year betrayal of Israel by the West

Amb (ret.) Yoram Ettinger, “Second Thought: a US-Israel Initiative”.  Gurantees are worse than worthless. They cause us to lower our guard and

The US-engineered and brokered Israel-Lebanon (Hezbollah) maritime/gas accord includes (in section 4) US guarantees. It aims to reassure both parties, especially Israel: “The United States intends to exert its best efforts working with the Parties to help establish and maintain a positive and constructive atmosphere for conducting discussions and successfully resolving any differences as rapidly as possible.” Is that a reassuring commitment?

The Golden Age for Jews in America: Coming to its End?

A reflection on the turning points.

The decline in the favorability of mainstream American views toward Israel has coincided with a rise in antisemitic violence, particularly in large metropolises, promoted by Islamo-Leftist groups.

By now, we have read countless articles warning of the coming end of the Jewish golden era in America. The dwindling number of Americans identifying as Jews (now around 4.5 million—half of all Americans of Jewish descent), the passing of the Holocaust generation and the fading memory of the Holocaust itself, ideological polarization and illiberalism are just a few of the reasons discussed.

America’s ‘Acute’ Foreign Policy Disarray

by Pete Hoekstra, GATESTONE  •  October 26, 2022

Saudi Arabia is deeply concerned that the Iran nuclear deal will soon be back on the table, as the Biden administration seeks to harshly punish any country opposed to U.S. efforts for a questionable nuclear agreement that would empower Iran, and vastly enrich it and its numerous terrorist proxies. • Saudi Arabia is deeply concerned… that the Iran agreement will soon be back on the table…. The Saudis quite correctly believe that that the new Iran deal, rather than stopping Iran from developing nuclear weapons, would actually pave the way to nuclear weapons, in addition to giving Iran’s despotic regime up to a trillion dollars — if the mullahs would please just not use the nuclear weapons on the Biden administration’s watch.

Smotrich: Lapid is whitewashing the Joint List so he can stay as PM

T. Belman. I have been saying this for weeks. Bennett opened the floodgates with Ra’am and now Lapid is going after the Joint List..

This means that if Bibi gets less than 60 seats, Lapid will form the next government by including Joint List.

Religious Zionism Party chair Bezalel Smotrich blasts Lapid at Sderot conference in Be’er Sheva.

The Chairman of the Religious Zionism Party Bezalel Smotrich, addressing the Sderot Society and Education conference at the Kay Academic College in Be’er Sheva, spoke about the recording in which he criticized Opposition leader Netanyahu.

Mark S. Golub – Being an American Zionist Jew Today

Fantastic talk, politically and theologically erudite, doesn’t go in the direction you think it will, mentions you and the Jordan Option in passing, though not by name, as one of solutions that have been suggested in the question and answer segment.

How the Israeli Ministry of Health Became an Agent for Pfizer

The Israeli Ministry of Health entered into a contract with Pfizer over COVID-19 vaccines that turned Israel into an agent of a commercial pharmaceutical company — and forced the state to give up its sovereign responsibility to protect the well-being of its citizens.

By Guy Shinar, Brownstone Institute

A bit of background: at the end of 2020, Israel was facing an empty trough. None of the aggressive measures taken by Israel against COVID-19 — lockdowns, social distancing, school closures and attempts to cut off the chain of infection by means of quarantine — had succeeded in preventing the spread of the virus.

In addition, then Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu faced the threat of the disbanding of his government and the replacement of his leadership in the elections. All this was overshadowed by indictments pending against him.

Why Dems Have Suddenly Collapsed for Nov’s Election: USA is Sick of Lies & Hatred Kelly O’Connell

By Kelly O’Connell, CFP

A Red Wave finally bursts to the surface, as the GOP sprints towards victory in both Houses. Every close race is turning Right. But why did it wait so long after two years of Biden’s horrific failure? After relentless mistake and one stupid idea after the other? How do we understand this sudden development? It might be easier than the question sounds.

RNC Launches 73 Election Integrity Lawsuits Across 20 States

By

In the year 2022 alone, the Republican National Committee (RNC) has filed 73 different lawsuits in 20 different states, alleging various violations of election procedure and resulting in several key victories, with two weeks to go before the midterms.

As reported by Fox News, the lawsuits focus on such matters as the counting of ballots that are either undated or mismarked, as well as the rights of poll watchers to directly observe the counting of ballots. The large-scale legal action by the RNC comes after widespread accusations of voter fraud in the 2020 election cycle, which many believe was enough to swing the results away from President Donald J. Trump and in favor of Democrat Joe Biden.

In support of Smotrich and Ben Gvir

Are you as sick-and-tired as I am about how the Left smears MK Itamar Ben Gvir? Op-ed.

Perhaps no display has been more despicable than the recent Israel Channel 12 Eretz Nehederet “comic sketch” comparing Ben Gvir to Adolf Hitler.

In his 1967 classic comedy, “The Producers,” Mel Brooks concocted a clever plot about a cheesy (Jewish) producer of Broadway plays, Max Bialystock (played by Zero Mostel), who conspires with his (Jewish) accountant, Leo Bloom (played by Gene Wilder), to run off with a small fortune generated by their fraudulent scheme. Their idea is to raise significant funds from outside investors to finance a new Broadway musical — story, book, and libretto not yet decided — with the usual assurances that investors will be paid significant dividends from the play’s ultimate profits. As in all such Broadway investments, of course, those who put up the cash stand to lose everything if the play really flops really badly really quickly. That is how investing works, whether on Broadway, on Wall Street, or on the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange.

Kanye West, Anger, And The ‘New Charter of Living’

By Geoffrey Clarfield, AM THINKER

Kanye West has recently outraged a large segment of American society that still believes America is a biblically inspired Republic, embodying the values of its Constitution.

He has done so by publicly threatening not just one or two specific Jews but the entire Jewish people. This is well within the spirit of the classical medieval antisemitism, once largely religious, that was secularized by Mussolini and Adolf Hitler during the 20th century, with horrific results.

Why American Jews Still Vote Democrat

By Allan J. Feifer, AM THINKER

In just two weeks we have an election.

Since at least the 1920s, American Jews have been among the most reliable supporters of the Democratic Party. Half of American Jews self-describe as liberal. But more tellingly, they vote Democratic at a rate of 70%. Jews are successful in many pursuits, yet they frequently seem to work against their own economic and political interests through their strident liberal leanings. The question is “why?”
