Peloni: It is vital that Israel maintain its strategic advantage in US military armaments til such time as Israel has its own innovative armaments being produced. Yet at the same time, the US will find the sale of billions of dollars of advanced military equipment to Saudi Arabia as being very tempting. So the question arises, is the loss of Israel’s strategic advantage worth MBS’ commitment to normalize relations with Israel, or even to join the Abraham Accords? I would think that the answer would be a hearty and resounding ‘NO!’ but I worry that this is exactly what might be coming in the next few days. The Saudis are experts at getting the Americans to do as they want during such negotiations, and the Saudis want the f35s…and nuclear power as well.
