A new initiative launched by the Palestinian Authority (PA) seeks to encourage Arab farmers to engage in the illegal takeover of Israeli lands in Area C in the Jordan Valley by providing them with a free tractor license for two years.

The PA’s Ministry of Transportation and the governor of Tubas in the Jordan Valley announced this weekend the new benefit, which provides an incentive for the illegal takeover of land in Area C, which is under full Israeli control as per the Oslo Accords.

T. Belman.  My father in law was close with Kurt and so on a number of occasions our paths would cross. I had no idea how prominent he was.  Occasionally he would donate to Israpundit and I appreciated it.

Kurt was a diminutive and ultra-modest man, but a giant in stature; beloved and broadly respected like few other men in today’s Jewish world – no exaggeration! He was a model of respect for all Jews and towards all Jews, the deepest believer in Klal Yisrael – the unity of the Jewish People.

Hungary’s Prime Minister Viktor Orban

The European Union needs a new strategy on the war in Ukraine as sanctions against Moscow have not worked, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban said on Saturday.

“A new strategy is needed which should focus peace talks and drafting a good peace proposal…instead of winning the war,” Orban said in a speech in Romania.

Orban, reelected for a fourth consecutive term in April, reiterated that Hungary – a NATO member – would stay out of the war in neighbouring Ukraine.

A tenured anthropology professor said he’s leaving his job because of a pervasive woke culture at the University of California, Los Angeles.

Joseph Manson, 62, used his blog to explain that he decided to retire from his position because “the Woke takeover of higher education has ruined academic life.”

“I strongly suspect that mainstream U.S. higher education is morally and intellectually corrupt, beyond the possibility of self-repair, and therefore no longer a worthwhile setting in which to spend my time and effort,” wrote Manson, who began teaching at UCLA in 1996.

That’s obvious – even among most Palestinians. The core of Palestinianism and Palestinian national identity is the “nakba” (catastrophe) – their failure, aided by Arab countries and others, to destroy the newly established State of Israel in 1948, and their losses in the 1967 Six Day War. They are engaged in a war of attrition, not the pursuit of peaceful co-existence.

The recent meeting of the G-7 demonstrated a triumph of zeal over the members’ self-interest. The seven were overwhelmed with a host of crises; inflation, energy, climate change, impending food shortage, and Ukraine offered no solution to any of the problems.

Speaking of Ukraine, they agreed to impose the 7th round of sanctions and promised to keep the war going as long as it takes. They simply did not know what else to do. So, they spent the rest of their time mocking Putin instead evaluating the West’s vulnerabilities and understanding Kiev and Moscow’s objectives and strategies.

T. Belman. Melanie writes, “core Jewish principles involve putting others’ interests before your own”. I have never read that before. In fact I have argued otherwise that we must put ourselves first. See Particularism Before Universalism.

She argues that Jewish children are not taught to, in my words, love themselves, their Jewish selves. So they don’t value being Jews. They take no pride in it. As a result, they have no reason to defend it.

Core Jewish principles involve putting others’ interests before your own, respecting every human being and observing moral codes based on right and wrong. Op-ed.
