We’re told time and time again that we must recognize the Palestinian “narrative” of the conflict’s origins in order to understand their pain, and usher in peace.

The truth is that we need to do just the opposite. The Palestinian narrative has already become widely endorsed by many in the academia, and the more it continues to gain recognition, the more miniscule the chances for peace will become. What we need in order to achieve peace are not narratives, but historic facts.

Having founded one of the largest PR agencies in the United States, I am well aware of the power of the media. As I get older, I realize many in the media simply don’t care about the truth.

In a closed meeting with his party last week, Gantz read aloud a WhatsApp containing threats from unnamed Arab sources, warning that they would take over Israel.

The British government ran a secret propaganda campaign aimed at destabilizing the country’s enemies during the Cold War by inciting violence, supporting racial tensions and encouraging hatred toward Israel, according to newly declassified documents.

The documents, which were reported on by The Guardian, highlighted a “black propaganda” campaign from the mid-1950s to late 70s that mostly targeted African countries, the Middle East and parts of Asia with fake reports that were ultimately intended to spread anti-communist sentiment.

An official report about the university’s early history and a student editorial denouncing Israel reflect the confused state of higher education’s values.

A recent report, “Harvard and the Legacy of Slavery,” notes that the university’s faculty, staff and leaders held more than 70 black slaves between 1636, when Harvard was founded, and 1783, when Massachusetts abolished slavery. In atonement, President Lawrence Bacow reports, the university intends to dedicate $100 million of its endowment to help address “the persistent corrosive effects of those historical practices on individuals, on Harvard, and on our society.”

There were names on the letter that I knew, even a few I admired.On June 9, 2021, not long after the escalation between Israel and Gaza-based militant groups ended, scores of journalists signed a public statement decrying the “decades-long journalistic malpractice” of the news industry’s alleged bias in favor of Israel. The media had premised its coverage of the Israeli–Palestinian conflict on Israeli narratives of proportionality and legitimate self-defense, the signers suggested, in part through failing to adopt the viewpoints of the letter-signers’ preferred segments of Palestinian society. “These terms?—?apartheid, persecution, ethnic supremacy?—?are increasingly gaining institutional recognition after years of Palestinian advocacy, and we, as journalists, need to examine whether our coverage reflects that reality,” the letter instructs. Coverage could be rebalanced only by endorsing a Palestinian-nationalist interpretation of the conflict and ending the scandalous evenhandedness that treated Israel as if it were a normal country with just as much of a moral, legal, and practical foundation as any other. • The European Union is basically admitting that it views the nuclear deal with Iran’s ruling clerics from the perspective of economic opportunity. That should not be the objective of the nuclear talks. Instead, European leaders ought to be seeking a strong deal that will prevent the Iranian regime from acquiring nuclear weapons, especially — as they should have learned from Russia by now — because those nukes may soon be aimed at their countries.
• By revealing its desperation to buy oil, the EU is empowering Iran’s ruling clerics to gain the upper hand in the nuclear talks and obtain even more concessions to revive the nuclear deal. Desperation, to the Iranian regime, means weakness.

T. Belman.  This is how the NYT reported what happened. From start to finish it is a smear job.  They write “was shot by Israeli soldiers, though Israeli officials said she could have been struck by either Palestinian or Israeli fire.”  There is no proof of this yet they said it anyways.

The Israeli police were exercising their authority and the so-called mourners were there to flout their authority.

I totally support the police.

As hundreds gathered to witness the start of Shireen Abu Akleh’s funeral procession, riot police assaulted the people carrying her coffin.

JERUSALEM — In life, Shireen Abu Akleh, an acclaimed Palestinian American broadcaster, was one of the leading chroniclers of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

Her death, while covering an Israeli raid in the occupied West Bank on Wednesday, turned her into one of the conflict’s most prominent recent victims. Palestinian witnesses and officials said Ms. Abu Akleh, 51, long a leading television reporter for Al Jazeera, was shot by Israeli soldiers, though Israeli officials said she could have been struck by either Palestinian or Israeli fire.

Then, on Friday in Jerusalem, her funeral was marred by another burst of violence.

Scenes of Israeli police rushing participants in the funeral of Al Jazeera journalist Shireen Abu Akleh, using force against Palestinians who were carrying her casket outside a Jerusalem hospital and nearly toppling it, drew widespread condemnation on Friday, with the White House saying it was “deeply disturbing,” while the European Union said it was “appalled.”

The police said in a subsequent statement that it intervened because rioters took her casket at the hospital against her family’s wishes, and prevented it from being loaded onto a hearse, as previously agreed, for that part of the funeral procession.

Iran is “the number one destabilizing factor” in the Middle East, commander of United States Central Command Maj. Gen. Michael Kurilla told Dubai-based Arabic television news channel Al-Arabiya on Thursday.

Kurilla, who was on a tour of Saudi Arabia and Egypt as part of what he called a “listening tour,” told Al Arabiya on Thursday that countering the threat posed by Iran required regional cooperation.

Statement says ‘mob’ took Shireen Abu Akleh’s casket against her family’s wishes, prompting police action; brother says mourners were attacked as soon as they left hospital

Israeli police said late Friday that officers intervened in the funeral of Al Jazeera journalist Shireen Abu Akleh in Jerusalem earlier in the day after “rioters” seized her coffin at the hospital, against her family’s wishes.

Officers charged Palestinians who were holding and surrounding the casket, and beat them with batons, nearly toppling the coffin. Images of the incident sparked global shock and condemnation.

The effect has been to systematically undermine the rule of law, stoke the fires of anarchy, and sow chaos in our institutions.
