Two weeks into the Russian invasion of Ukraine, one thing is clear: President Vladimir Putin and the Russian military have failed in their goals abysmally.

Not only have Kyiv and Kharkiv not fallen into the hands of Russian troops “within two days,” but no large Ukrainian city has. This great failure is also reflected in the Kremlin’s draconian censorship of the country’s media, banning any criticism of the “special operation.”

Not long after winding down 20 years of war, President Joe Biden now finds the United States entrenched in a conflict in Ukraine, even without sending in US troops, that could have a more far-reaching effect on a larger cross-section of Americans than Afghanistan or Iraq ever did.

Fighting in Afghanistan and Iraq cost the lives of more than 6,900 US troops and more than 7,500 US contractors, and American spending topped $2.3 trillion. But those wars had little impact on how the vast majority of Americans lived their daily lives. It was a 20-year period where people experienced both the Great Recession and the longest US economic expansion, touchstones that were little influenced by the two grinding conflicts.

Jewish academics speak up after faculty letter full of “antisemitic stereotypes” attacks Cotler for speaking at event about antisemitism.

More than 300 Jewish faculty members from the University of Toronto have signed an open letter denouncing a letter by 45 faculty members that “relied on antisemitic stereotypes and false statements” to attack Canada’s antisemitism envoy Irwin Cotler.<

The letter addressed to the acting dean of the Temerty Faculty of Medicine (TFOM), which was signed by 316 Jewish professors, was written in response to a letter signed by the 45 faculty members who accused Cotler of “contributing to anti-Palestinian racism.”

While the Bennett-Lapid coalition lost a record 32 votes over five months, one bill remains a threat on the final day of the Knesset’s winter session

The Knesset’s winter session will end this week with several failures for the governing coalition.

Due to coronavirus quarantines, Justice Minister Gideon Sa’ar’s pet project, a bill to set term limits for the prime minister, won’t be brought for a vote. And since no agreement has been reached with the United Arab List, a reform of the conversion process important to Prime Minister Naftali Bennett’s Yamina party will also wait until the Knesset reconvenes in May.

As Russia’s war against Ukraine continues, Iran and Hezbollah remain officially neutral. Patron and proxy have neither backed Kyiv’s struggle against Russian aggression – despite their own pretenses to anti-imperial resistance – nor their partner Moscow, which guaranteed their victory over the Assad regime’s opponents in Syria. At different moments, Tehran and Hezbollah’s leadership have even expressed sympathy with both belligerents.

But their neutrality is superficial. A careful analysis of their leadership’s pronouncements, alongside their media outlets, reveals that both are stealthily pro-Russian, hoping its war in Ukraine will erode American global influence, while being officially agnostic.

T. Belman. Black comes out in support of NATO giving Zelensky the support he needs to achieve “an acceptable result”. He does not define what he considers “acceptable”. Obviously the more support we give the more acceptable the result will be assuming it acts as a deterrent. . My problem is, that such added support may result in escalation rather than de-escalation. How much escalation, with its concomitant death and destruction, is he prepared for. Or is he arguing to win at all costs.;

Secondly, he assumes that this is a conflict between the democratic west and the totalitarian Russia. Many have argued that it is really a struggle between the New World Order and what Dr Turley calls a civilization state. Others call it the Nation State or nationalism.  The NWO doesn’t have a lock on democracy and the rule of law. Just look at what America has become under its direction. Not only has it subverted the rule of law and the constitution but it has overturned the Judeo Christian morality on which it was founded. Many would argue that the NWO is a danger to the kind of life we led and the kind of life we want to live.
