The recent Amnesty International report which accuses Israel of apartheid and crimes against humanity is demonstrably dishonest, tendentious, and so lacking in context to be unworthy of serious consideration. Indeed, it has even been called “a paradigmatic example of anti-semitism [sic].” But this will not prevent its use as a weapon in the ongoing diplomatic and legal war being waged against Israel in the UN. As Anne Herzberg of NGO Monitor wrote,

These groups [Amnesty, Human Rights Watch, B’Tselem]—through their personal connections and singular influence at the U.N. Human Rights Council, and the acquiescence of Europe—instead will simply get U.N. Special Rapporteur Michael Lynk and the Navi Pillay-headed Commission of Inquiry [COI] to uncritically adopt their claims and mark them with the U.N. stamp of approval in the next few months. Unsurprisingly and in keeping with his history of anti-Israel activism (as well as in violation of U.N. rules), although he is ostensibly currently conducting an independent and objective investigation of apartheid, Lynk promoted the group’s report on Twitter. There is no doubt that the COI will act in a similar fashion.

Yamina barely clearing electoral threshold in latest poll, with Yesh Atid falling to half the number of seats of the Likud.

Opposition Leader and former premier Benjamin Netanyahu is on the cusp of having enough support for the Likud and its allies to form a new government if new elections were held today, according to a poll released Tuesday.

The poll, conducted by Direct Polls, found that if new elections were held today, the Likud would gain six additional seats, rising from 30 mandates won in last year’s election to 36 seats total, making it not only the largest party in the Knesset, but more than twice as largest as its nearest rival.

4) Establish arms embargos against Israel.

Monday, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau declared a “state of emergency” against his own citizens in what has become the latest fashionable trend to crush dissent and demand obedience to the state. The BBC reports:

Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has taken the unprecedented step of invoking the Emergencies Act to crack down on anti-vaccine mandate protests.

Justin Trudeau is afraid of truckers, so he decided to invoke the Emergencies Act to deal with the Freedom Convoy and their allies who are demanding an end to the COVID panic regime. The military won’t be deployed…yet. Civil liberties will not be violated…yet. And Trudeau even said the right to legal protest won’t be impeded…yet. LONDON — On December 5, 1940, 1,580 Jewish men, women and children were taken from the Atlit detention center near Haifa, transferred on to two ships, and deported to the island of Mauritius in the Indian Ocean.

On their arrival in the small British colony 17 days later, the refugees — who had fled Nazi-occupied Europe three months prior — were taken to the Beau Bassin central prison where they were held behind bars for nearly five years.

Until 1967, when 3 massive Arab armies with superior weaponry amassed on Israel’s borders and blockaded Israel’s waterways, the descriptions of people that were discussed in the Middle East were Jews and Arabs. Yes, some Arabs were from Syria, and some were from Egypt. But Arabs in Jordan did not call themselves Jordanians just like Arabs in Lebanon did not call themselves Lebanese. They called themselves Shiites or Sunnis or Christian Arabs.

From the perspective of freedom-loving citizens in this country, the trucker convoys and blockades protesting mask and vaccine mandates are a stirring spectacle of patriotism, civic responsibility, and true grit. They represent the offset to heavy-handed and arrogant government that is using everything in its power to suppress their efforts: threats, fines, police coercion, theft of property, and the manifestly illegal sequestering of funds donated to the truckers by private individuals. A conflict of this nature is often framed as the state versus the nation, the authorities versus the people. Whether it applies to the current situation, as we will see, is problematic. Read more…

(JNS) The Yad Vashem chairman recently released a statement defending the Israeli Holocaust museum’s decision no longer to display a photograph of an infamous meeting in 1941 between Grand Mufti of Jerusalem Haj Amin al-Husseini and Adolf Hitler. (ed. note:The statement was released after veteran tour guide Shalom Pollack protested the change to current Yad VaShem Chairman Dani Dayan and was refused. Arutz Sheva then posted his two articles on the topic :The missing photo of Hitler and the Mufti of Jeusalem and Husseini and Yad VaShem)

The chairman argued that being forced to include the contested photograph is “tantamount to partaking in the debate on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.”

MK Itamar Ben-Gvir (Religious Zionist Party) vowed Monday morning that he would return to the Shimon Hatzaddik neighborhood in the capital and reestablish his parliamentary office there.

NEW YORK—Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin spent her 58th birthday listening to a closing argument by one of her attorneys, as well as one from the defense, in her defamation trial against The New York Times on Feb. 11.

As a public figure, Palin, a Republican, “suffered plenty of jokes, plenty of insults” and “slings and arrows,” but with the newspaper’s editorial linking her to a mass shooting, “it became time to draw the line” with a lawsuit, her lawyer, Kenneth Turkel, said.

And now decades later any talk of a communist infiltration in our schools, government, media, and the arts is still met with an incensed reaction as if…How could that be?<
