It is not every day that a woman wakes up to find that her children and grandchildren have spent the night in a bomb shelter, bombarded by missiles launched by a vicious, anti-Semitic terrorist organization dedicated to murdering every last Jew on earth; missiles launched haphazardly at densely populated residential areas at the heart of the country.

I think about my in-laws, both survivors, one of Auschwitz the other of Hungarian slave labor whose wife and two children were gassed by Nazis. And here we are in 2021, and their precious descendants are once again objects of intensive attempts at annihilation as the so-called civilized world brays in unison in support of Hamas, the spiritual heirs to the Nazis.

T. Belman. Bennett is choosing between this government and a fifth election, not a Netanyahu government.   Bibi wasn’t so right wing anyway. I like Bennett’s red lines.  Not mentioned here is his dominance of who is picked for the Judiciary nor the government’s position on Biden’s policies and intentions.  The question remains is how stable will it be given the reliance on Ra’am support.

Yamina leader Naftali Bennett told his party’s lawmakers Sunday that he intends to join with Yesh Atid leader Yair Lapid in forming a coalition, a move that, if completed in the next few days, would end more than 12 consecutive years of rule by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

The number of Jews who don’t identify with religion is rising, with many on a trajectory away from Jewish life. But on the other side, there is a spiritual rebound. Orthodox Judaism is continuing to grow and successfully retain its youth. And, with large families being the norm, it will become a larger segment of the community over the decades. This is coupled with the rise of Chabad, now equal in size to either the Reform or Conservative movements.

He also intimated that ” too many of his own congregants have preferred to define themselves as anti-zionists, I imagine, joining Israel’s enemies in bashing Israel, instead of standing by their own Jewish people in Israel and their ancestral homeland.”

Little did the Rabbi know that he was to blame because he further explained his hurt and disappointment that while he personally stood up for all other causes, LGBTQ+, immigrants, black lives etc. Nobody from the other causes is now standing up for the Jews, as antisemitic attacks are taking place across United States communities.

In fact, because there are so very few of that mindset among American Orthodox rabbis, he found himself getting quoted and featured in most left-wing Jewish media organs seeking to find an Orthodox rabbi for Biden over Trump. A month later, in my article “More about Joe and the Jews,” I described 12 more Jew haters and Israel loathers that Joe appointed to key positions in his cabinet/regime.

There have been many other alarmingly similar appointments since then, making it clear to even the most casual observer that the Biden White House has a particularly hostile––even hateful––attitude toward Jews and their ancient homeland Israel, combined with a perverse infatuation with and allegiance to any group or individual intent on destroying the Jewish state.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu chats with Naftali Bennett in the Knesset

Yamina leader Naftali Bennett agreed to forming a coalition government with Yesh Atid head Yair Lapid, N12 reported.

The two sides agreed that Bennett will serve first as prime minister until September 2023, when Lapid will take over until November 2025, according to N12. The swearing-in ceremony is expected to take place in 10 days, following an announcement of the new government either on Saturday night or Sunday.

Yamina chairman Naftali Bennett has agreed to form a government with Yesh Atid chairman Yair Lapid, Channel 12 News’ Amit Segal reported on Friday.

The report comes a day after Bennett met with Lapid to discuss the possibility of forming a unity government together, without notifying his fellow Yamina lawmakers prior to the meeting.

State Department’s allocation of $100 million in Palestinian aid prompts concerns

As the Biden administration allocates more than $100 million in U.S. taxpayer aid to the Palestinian government and aid groups, critics are raising concerns that the State Department cannot ensure this aid won’t reach the Iranian-backed terror group Hamas.

State Department officials have thus far declined to outline what mechanisms, if any, it has put in place to stop a tranche of aid money from reaching Hamas, which controls the Gaza Strip and is responsible for initiating a deadly conflict with Israel this month. The State Department admitted this week that it could not guarantee the tranche of money will be kept from Hamas.

T. Belman.  I read elsewhere that Israel was running dangerously low of projectiles for the Iron Dome. The US has always our need for resupply to force us to capitulate. Furthermore Hamas officials said they were in daily contact with Hezbollah.  No doubt Israel was also worried that Hezbollah would join the attack.

“there is unanimity among Israel’s defense organizations that if the country’s political leadership doesn’t quickly embark on a long-term arrangement with Hamas, the accomplishments of this month’s military operation will dissipate.”

In other words, Hamas forced Israel to negotiate with them.   Israel should be in no rush to achieve a long term deal as Israel will be at a disadvantage.  Such a deal would clearly favour Hamas. And she certainly should not negotiate for the return of the bodies of two soldiers. Israel should also get resupplied. Problem is that the US will exact conditions on Israel for the resupply.  We are not in a good place.  I can’t wait for the laser weapon to be deployed.  Perhaps Israel likewise.

Finally, to counter Hamas in J&S, it is argued that we must strengthen the PA.

T. Belman. Not mentioned in this article is the revival of the Palestine cause worldwide due to the publicity it received during the 11 days of war. Palestinians are emboldened to attack Jews in New York and LA further adding to the publicity.  CAIR has just announced “Over 100 organizations today joined the U.S. Council of Muslim Organizations (USCMO), American Muslims for Palestine (AMP) and activists for the National March for Palestine in Washington, D.C., taking place on Saturday, May 29,”

T. Belman. When Trump banned Muslims from 6 Muslim countries where Islamists predominated, I was all for it. Jews rallied against such a ban, because , they argued, Jews having been banned from immigrating to the US during the Holocaust, were thus obligated to make sure that Muslims aren’t similarly banned.  I argued that there is no comparison. The Jews had nowhere else to go to and did not represent a threat to America or its citizens, The same could not be said about the Muslims from the named countries and besides, they are extremely antisemitic.  What is happening now is exactly what I feared.
