US Secretary of State Antony Blinken pledged on a Middle East mission on Tuesday that Washington would advance the process of reopening its Jerusalem consulate for the Palestinians, although such a move would likely be legally problematic, according to three former senior diplomats who spoke to Israel Hayom on Wednesday and asked to remain anonymous.

Sinwar: Ceasefire will be broken if Israel ‘desecrates’ Al-Aqsa, or Sheikh Jarrah families evicted
The head of the Hamas terror group in Gaza describes the ceasefire to end 11 days of fighting against Israel as “fragile.”

“If the occupiers desecrate the Al-Aqsa Mosque again or force our people in the Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood to leave their homes — repeat what they did before, the ceasefire will be broken,” Yahya Sinwar tells Turkey’s state-run Anadolu news agency, referring respectively to the mosque atop the Temple Mount in Jerusalem’s Old City and a nearby neighborhood where several Palestinian families face pending evictions from homes claimed by Jewish nationalists.

“We are ready for the great battle, if the enemy commits a great folly in Jerusalem and the holy sites,” Sinwar said in his first speech since Operation Guardian of the Walls.

Gaza’s Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar claimed on Wednesday that Hamas has 500 km. of tunnels in the Gaza Strip and that only five percent of the tunnels had been damaged in recent clashes.

T. Belman.  This is a fascinating interview in which Foxman says Israel lacks a vision but doesn’t say what the vision should be. But I think he is implying it must be compatible with the left which he says is growing in the world and particularly in America. He bemoans the loss of bipartanship.

But the problem is that if Israel articulated what it really wants, she would be even more isolated. Israel prefers to keep a low profile which she does by embracing the status quo. That’s Bibi’s policy.  But there are many on the right who reject the status quo and want policies and goals that strengthen Israel as the Jewish state and her sovereignty over J&S and the Temple Mount.

Biden and the Democrats will be removed from office soon and the US, with many in the world in tow, will embrace the right.

T. Belman. I happen to be a big fan of competitive diving. I posted this video because it shows the competition between two amazing divers, both of whom were nearly perfect on ALL their dives. UNBELIEVABLE.

The diver must generate extreme rotation speed, open out at the exact right moment and minimize the splash on entering.

The current conflict between Israel and Hamas in Gaza is an example of this and, although agreed to due to US pressure, the resulting cease-fire is no less than a capitulation by Israel to the Arab aggressor.

TIERNEY NEWS: President Trump did an interview with Steve Cortes, his former adviser, on Newsmax yesterday. One of the BEST interviews I’ve ever seen him do – with lots of new revelations. Grab a cup of coffee and watch the whole thing. It’s 25 minutes but uninterrupted & really really worth your time. I could paraphrase it but it’s better if you hear it yourself.

T. Belman.  This report is very alarming.  “oppose” and “prefer” have entirely different meanings. Netanyahu also said “There won’t be an advanced dialogue with Abbas and the PA as long as they continue to try to harm the State of Israel, its soldiers and its civilians,” In other words, so long as the PA promotes investigations into Israel activity by the ICC or UN there won’t be advanced  negotiations.  We’ll see.

I also find it strange that Pompeo is visiting Israel now. What’s that all about?

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu informed US Secretary of State Antony Blinken that Israel opposes the reopening of a US consulate for Palestinians in sovereign Israel, hours before the US went public with its plan to do so in Jerusalem.
