That Terrible Ben-Gvir, Praying on the Temple Mount

Peloni:  It was very encouraging to see this change.  Despite the propaganda launched against Israel, the only institutional, systematic discrimination against the freedom of worship in Israel has been implemented against the Jew.  It is, accordingly, very welcome to see that this long held practice of discrimination is at least being partially withdrawn.  Very well done, Min. Ben Gvir!

Though Israel has been demonized by so much of the world, within that general demonization special hate has been reserved for two people, now members of the cabinet, who are inevitably described as “far right” and “lunatics” — Itamar Ben-Gvir and Bezalel Smotrich. The former has just done something that the Arabs, and the world media taking its cue from them, describe as an appalling violation of previous agreements and a deliberate attempt to stir up even more trouble with the Palestinian Arabs. They are referring to Ben-Gvir’s visit, along with his supporters, to the holiest site in Judaism, the Temple Mount, on one of the holiest of Jewish holidays, Tisha b’Av, where the Jews proceeded to sing and dance and, horribile dictu, to openly pray.

Should Israel Reoccupy Gaza?

Peloni: IDSF Head of Research  Or Yissachar and Amb. Yoram Ettinger discuss the reoccupation of Gaza, reitterinating that there is no choice but to move forward with this operation.  In doing so, Amb. Ettinger raises the key point that Israel can not off-shore its responsibility of securing Gaza to Europe, the Sunni Arabs or the US.  Gaza must be maintained and overseen by Israeli forces alone.

The option of occupation and the imposition of military administration versus other alternatives for ending the war

Kobi MichaelYossi Kuperwasser | INSS  | August 4, 2025

Insight No. 2020

In the war in the Gaza Strip, Israel faces a choice between three strategic alternatives: continuing to pursue a ceasefire agreement to secure the release of some of the hostages while adhering to the goal of dismantling and disarming Hamas; agreeing to end the war under Hamas’s terms in exchange for the release of all the hostages; or occupying the Strip and imposing a temporary military administration, with the hope that this will also result in the release of the hostages. Each of these options involves significant costs alongside relative advantages, and none fully realizes the war’s objectives. This article examines the implications of occupying the Gaza Strip and how this option addresses the war’s objectives compared to the other two alternatives.

“The Predators Have Their Pick”

by Linda Goudsmit | August 5, 2025

Screengrab via Epic Times [Cropped]

Gen Z, loosely defined as Americans born between 1997 and 2012, is the first generation to grow up with full access to the Internet from pre-school onward. They are America’s digital natives and use the Internet constantly and consistently to interact socially. The seeming anonymity of the Internet has created a medium of over-sharing private information on social media, where young people’s emotional vulnerabilities are exploited by avaricious online sexual predators. The connections between social media, pornography, pedophilia, and societal collapse are positively chilling.

The Rescue of Jews in Albania during the Holocaust: A Story that is Still Unfolding…

Peloni:  The little discussed history of Albania during WWII is an important oversight.  At the beginning of the war, there were somewhere between 200-600 Jews living in Albania, but at the war’s end there were some 2,000.   Even after the Germans occupied Albania and demanded the list of Jews in the country, locals refused to comply and fake documents were provided to the Jews.

Background

As a recipient of the EHRI-Conny Kristel fellowship, I spent a short research period at the Fondazione Centro Di Documentazione Ebraica Contemporanea (CDEC) in Milan, Italy. CDEC is an independent research institute for the study of the history and culture of Jews in Italy, with particular reference to contemporary Italy and the Nazi-fascist period. The CDEC Foundation is broadly recognized as the main institute in Italy for the history and documentation of the Shoah.2 The time I spent at CDEC was fundamental for my research, which is focused on the fate of native and foreign Jews in Albania during the Holocaust. CDEC contains a significant number of documents, books, and other materials, directly and indirectly connected to the experiences of Jews in Albania before and throughout World War II (WWII).

Getting MAGA to Go Left on Israel

Peloni:  Daniel hits the nail on the head here.  The Left are trying to turn MAGA on its head.

There’s no ‘civil war’ within MAGA over Israel. There’s only leftist infiltration.

The media has taken to claiming that there’s a “civil war” within MAGA over Israel. In reality, 78% of Republicans supported Israel’s strikes on Iran and 71% support its war on Hamas. The “civil war” was manufactured by media hacks, hoping conservatives will adopt their support for Islamic terrorists, and social media influencers who are in the pay of Islamic interests.

Full Take Over of Gaza – Prime Minister and IDF Leaders CLASH

Peloni:  Maj. Gen Hacohen provides the context of  the constraints under which Israel faces in conquering Gaza, and yet he reaffirms that victory will be gained.

It is vital to recognize that these constraints exist so that an appropriate strategy can be developed to achieve victory.  In any event, however, Israel must take control of Gaza, there is just no other choice.  This is what is understood when describing Gaza as an existential threat

Qatar Is Powering Syria

For Syria, Qatar’s money is power.

On July 31, the Qatar Fund for Development announced plans to fund a surge of natural gas deliveries to Syria. Deliveries began on August 2. The gas, which is flowing from Azerbaijan to a power station in Aleppo via Turkey, is expected to boost Syria’s power-generating capacity by 400 megawatts. That means hours more electricity every day for more than 5 million people.

The Antisemitism tsunami: In defense of reality

Why Hillel Fuld Is right, and why it’s time we stop hiding behind feel-good illusions. Hillel Fuld is not spreading fear. He is sounding the alarm that far too many Jews refuse to hear.

Let me be very clear: I love Chabad. I have deep respect the Rebbe zts”l and deeply appreciate the generations of shlichim who continue to inspire, educate, and awaken Jewish souls around the world.

But I must push back, firmly, on Rabbi Anchelle Perl’s recent critique of Hillel Fuld’s viral post warning about the rising tsunami of Jew-hating antisemitism and the existential threats facing the Jewish people in the West today.

Hello Mr. Mamdan…

by Gerald A. Honigman

I’ve followed your campaign for mayor in one of the greatest cities in the entire world, New York, along with volumes of antisemitic comments with much interest.

Please don’t think ALL of us are fools (although many are…you’ve got many ignorant and/or self hating Jews supporting your views and campaigns)
when you and your Jew stooge campaign assistant claim that there’s a rat’s derrière’s difference between your obviously hatred of the sole, resurrected, minuscule nation of Israel Reborn and your feelings towards Jews. There isn’t in 99.999 % of the cases.

Trump Admin Says It Will Hold Disaster Prep Dollars From Cities, States Boycotting Israel — Then Walks It Back

Peloni:  Should it not have been easy enough for the administration to have defended their decision to include the relevant language in the funding guidelines as being relevant to the exponential rise of antisemitic attacks and open support of antisemitism on both the Right and the Left in the US?  In fact, it was a missed opportunity for the administration to call out the historic Jew Hatred in both the country as well as within Trump’s own base as being both un-American and unacceptable.  Relevantly, the longer the Trump administration ignores the growing embrace of antisemitism by those who claim to control his base, the more difficult it will be to prove them wrong.

Department of Homeland Security (DHS) funding guidelines indicated that cities and states boycotting Israeli companies would be ineligible for federal disaster preparedness aid, but the Trump administration subsequently removed that specific language from the rules on Monday.

After coalition gov’t unanimously votes to fire AG Baharav-Miara, High Court freezes the dismissal

Peloni: Judicial reform is what people voted for in the last election, and as I have noted previously, if it is not passed by this govt, it will be what people vote for in the next govt.  The longer this long overdue reform is ignored, the more terrible will be its effect on the Israeli people, and the more obvious will become the fact that this reform is neither arbitrary nor radical, but both responsible and necessary to the nation’s survival.

The Inspiring Story of a Daring Escape from Behind Enemy Lines

Peloni:  A fascinating story.

By Janet Levy | Am Thinker | August 5, 2025

Image: Public domain.

One of the places I visited during a trip to the Balkans in June was a large nuclear bunker complex on the outskirts of Tiranë, the capital of Albania. It’s a massive underground structure—five stories, 106 rooms, and a two-story-high assembly hall, all covering 32,000 square feet—and was built in the 1970s during the height of the Cold War to shelter Albania’s Stalinist leader Enver Hoxha and his inner circle. Dug by hand, the bunker claimed the lives of many laborers.

Republican recognition grants Israel historic chance to cement West Bank sovereignty – editorial

Peloni: This is an important article, arguing for the positions being adopted in Judea & Samaria by the US Republicans to be promoted by Israel among their Democratic counterparts, thus restoring the bipartisan nature of support for Israel while maintaining the gains currently being supported by the Republicans.  Israel’s long term future alliance with America requires a bipartisan base, and as the Democrats have taken to largely repositioning themselves towards anti-American, and thereby anti-Israel, policies, it will be important for Israeli activists to try to revive the bipartisan nature of the relationship between Israel and the US as much as possible, by interacting with candidates who have not entirely moved towards the Islamist wing of the party.

Today, America’s conservatives stand beside us, urging the same resolve. It is an invitation Israel should embrace with confidence.

US Speaker of the House Mike Johnson’s decision to stand in the Samaria city of Ariel on Monday and declare that “Judea and Samaria… must remain an integral part” of Israel was far more than a private photo op. It marked the clearest sign yet that today’s Republican leadership is steadily erasing the Green Line from United States policy toward the Jewish state. Read more…

The Bugs Bunny Trial

Peloni:  Gadi Taub provides a very thorough and extensive look at the Netanyahu trials as he exposes the impossibility of ignoring the rule of law being perverted towards lawfare tactics, as well as the lack of any regard for justice in a regime which claims the judicial supremacy.  In their quest to manipulate and unseat Netanyahu, the entire charade of legal abuse and judicial malpractice has exposed itself as being no more than the squandering of power among those ideological quarters which have increasingly been rejected by the Israeli electorate.

Part II of Israeli documentary ‘The Trial’ lays bare the unfolding list of loony fabrications at the heart of the legal offensive against Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu

The trial of Benjamin Netanyahu began in Jerusalem District Court over five years ago, on May 24, 2020. Since that date, Israel has become a different country, one scarred by terror attacks and international condemnation and also boasting stunning military victories. Meanwhile, judges and researchers have cast serious doubt on the evidentiary basis for all four charges against the prime minister, only one of which has of yet been dismissed and none proved in court.
