Yamina chairman Naftali Bennett has agreed to form a government with Yesh Atid chairman Yair Lapid, Channel 12 News’ Amit Segal reported on Friday.

The report comes a day after Bennett met with Lapid to discuss the possibility of forming a unity government together, without notifying his fellow Yamina lawmakers prior to the meeting.

Biden Admin Can’t Guarantee Taxpayer Aid Won’t Enrich Hamas

State Department’s allocation of $100 million in Palestinian aid prompts concerns

By  • May 27, 2021 5:10 pm

As the Biden administration allocates more than $100 million in U.S. taxpayer aid to the Palestinian government and aid groups, critics are raising concerns that the State Department cannot ensure this aid won’t reach the Iranian-backed terror group Hamas.

State Department officials have thus far declined to outline what mechanisms, if any, it has put in place to stop a tranche of aid money from reaching Hamas, which controls the Gaza Strip and is responsible for initiating a deadly conflict with Israel this month. The State Department admitted this week that it could not guarantee the tranche of money will be kept from Hamas.

The murderous doctrine of moral equivalence

It’s not enough for politicians to promise support to a Jewish community under siege

By Melanie Phillips

Head of Janus, Vatican museum, Rome

US Secretary of State Antony Blinken and his counterpart, Britain’s Foreign Secretary Dominic Raab, visited Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu this week to offer help in building on the ceasefire with Hamas.

Both Blinken and Raab declared themselves committed to Israel’s security. Both governments have also condemned the antisemitism running rampant in their countries.

Israel Is Unsure It Deterred Hamas, and the Military Is Preparing for Renewed Gaza Fighting

T. Belman.  I read elsewhere that Israel was running dangerously low of projectiles for the Iron Dome. The US has always our need for resupply to force us to capitulate. Furthermore Hamas officials said they were in daily contact with Hezbollah.  No doubt Israel was also worried that Hezbollah would join the attack.

“there is unanimity among Israel’s defense organizations that if the country’s political leadership doesn’t quickly embark on a long-term arrangement with Hamas, the accomplishments of this month’s military operation will dissipate.”

In other words, Hamas forced Israel to negotiate with them.   Israel should be in no rush to achieve a long term deal as Israel will be at a disadvantage.  Such a deal would clearly favour Hamas. And she certainly should not negotiate for the return of the bodies of two soldiers. Israel should also get resupplied. Problem is that the US will exact conditions on Israel for the resupply.  We are not in a good place.  I can’t wait for the laser weapon to be deployed.  Perhaps Israel likewise.

Finally, to counter Hamas in J&S, it is argued that we must strengthen the PA.

Top military officials say privately the accomplishments of the latest operation will slip away unless a more permanent arrangement with Hamas is achieved quickly ? IDF chief’s tenure extended to fend off ‘complex regional challenges’

With scarcely a week since a cease-fire was secured in the military confrontation between Israel and Hamas, the Israeli military is poised for a possible resumption of the fighting in the near future, with top military officials believing that Hamas could yet reengage. Read more…

A challenging ceasefire

T. Belman. Not mentioned in this article is the revival of the Palestine cause worldwide due to the publicity it received during the 11 days of war. Palestinians are emboldened to attack Jews in New York and LA further adding to the publicity.  CAIR has just announced “Over 100 organizations today joined the U.S. Council of Muslim Organizations (USCMO), American Muslims for Palestine (AMP) and activists for the National March for Palestine in Washington, D.C., taking place on Saturday, May 29,”

Israel’s military efforts attained many profound achievements in the recent conflict, but Hamas predictably will rearm, augmented by the thousands of undamaged rockets still in their arsenal.

By Rabbi Dov Fischer, ISRAEL HAYOM

How many Israelis who – for more than a decade – loyally have voted for Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu now feel intense pain that he and Defense Minister Benny Gantz have agreed to a ceasefire with Hamas? And how much harder is it to digest that ceasefire without Hamas freeing Avera Mengistu, the Ethiopian Jew who wandered into Gaza in September 2014, and returning to Israel the remains of Lt. Hadar Goldin and Staff Sgt. Oron Shaul, who fell in the summer of 2014 during Operation Protective Edge?

Stop Jew-Hate: End Jihad Immigration

T. Belman. When Trump banned Muslims from 6 Muslim countries where Islamists predominated, I was all for it. Jews rallied against such a ban, because , they argued, Jews having been banned from immigrating to the US during the Holocaust, were thus obligated to make sure that Muslims aren’t similarly banned.  I argued that there is no comparison. The Jews had nowhere else to go to and did not represent a threat to America or its citizens, The same could not be said about the Muslims from the named countries and besides, they are extremely antisemitic.  What is happening now is exactly what I feared.

Filling American cities with antisemitic Muslim mobs.

In 2015, The Atlantic ran a cover story titled, “Is It Time for the Jews to Leave Europe?”

In 2021, the question is whether it’s time for the Jews to leave New York and Los Angeles.

Reopening US consulate for Palestinians in J’lem ‘violates Israeli, US law’

US Secretary of State Antony Blinken pledged on a Middle East mission on Tuesday that Washington would advance the process of reopening its Jerusalem consulate for the Palestinians, although such a move would likely be legally problematic, according to three former senior diplomats who spoke to Israel Hayom on Wednesday and asked to remain anonymous.

Hamas’s Sinwar: We have 500 km of tunnels in Gaza, only 5% were damaged

T. Belman.  Israel should call Sinwar’s bluff. I will give us an opportunity to destroy more of Gaza and Hamas

Sinwar: Ceasefire will be broken if Israel ‘desecrates’ Al-Aqsa, or Sheikh Jarrah families evicted
The head of the Hamas terror group in Gaza describes the ceasefire to end 11 days of fighting against Israel as “fragile.”

“If the occupiers desecrate the Al-Aqsa Mosque again or force our people in the Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood to leave their homes — repeat what they did before, the ceasefire will be broken,” Yahya Sinwar tells Turkey’s state-run Anadolu news agency, referring respectively to the mosque atop the Temple Mount in Jerusalem’s Old City and a nearby neighborhood where several Palestinian families face pending evictions from homes claimed by Jewish nationalists.

“We are ready for the great battle, if the enemy commits a great folly in Jerusalem and the holy sites,” Sinwar said in his first speech since Operation Guardian of the Walls.

At a moment of crisis for Israel in US, ex-ADL head warns: Israel has no vision

T. Belman.  This is a fascinating interview in which Foxman says Israel lacks a vision but doesn’t say what the vision should be. But I think he is implying it must be compatible with the left which he says is growing in the world and particularly in America. He bemoans the loss of bipartanship.

But the problem is that if Israel articulated what it really wants, she would be even more isolated. Israel prefers to keep a low profile which she does by embracing the status quo. That’s Bibi’s policy.  But there are many on the right who reject the status quo and want policies and goals that strengthen Israel as the Jewish state and her sovereignty over J&S and the Temple Mount.

Biden and the Democrats will be removed from office soon and the US, with many in the world in tow, will embrace the right.

‘Israel, moving right, is interacting with an America which is at best being more progressive,’ says Abraham Foxman. The Hamas war exposed the fault lines, and time is running out

After a bitter, 11-day round of conflict with Hamas, which has imposed a terror state in Gaza and publicly declares we have no right to exist, Israel is being battered in much of the world for an ostensibly brutal response to incessant barrages of indiscriminate rocket fire. Amid this criticism, much of the Diaspora is facing a spike in antisemitic attacks.

Germany: New Strategy to Combat ‘Political Islamism’

by Soeren Kern, GATESTONE INSTITUTE  •  May 27, 2021

  • The policy paper, “Preserving Free Society, Promoting Social Cohesion, Fighting Political Islamism,” which whole-heartedly commends law-abiding Muslims who respect Germany’s democratic order, argues that the debate about Islamism in Germany is often reduced to violence and terror, but that it is necessary to focus more on ideology. The proposals include improving research and analysis of political Islam in Europe and the methods by which it spreads; banning the foreign funding of mosques; and reducing the number of foreign imams active in Germany.

ECI alarmed about rising antisemitism, offers partnership to EU Commission

ECI PRESS RELEASE:  Elie Wiesel: “Where are all the others” – Silence is not an option

Brussels, May 27th, 2021 – Nothing much seems to have changed on the streets of Europe since the EU Crisis Summit in 2004, prompted by a sudden spike in anti-Semitism and called together by then EU Commission President Romano Prodi, when the late Holocaust survivor and Nobel laurate Elie Wiesel complained that it was still only Jewish leaders who reacted against the rising scourge of antisemitism. “Where are all the others”, he asked. Seventeen years on and the question still stands, ”where are all the others”?“During a tumultuous year marked by large scale demonstrations against what is seen as structural racism it is remarkable but tragic that there are still no mass demonstrations to fill our streets in protest against this oldest of hatreds – antisemitism”, ECI Founding Director Tomas Sandell said on Thursday.

The diver must generate extreme rotation speed, open out at the exact right moment and minimize the splash on entering.

The Deterioration of Democratic Support for Israel

By Irit Tratt, AM THINKER

In 1981 Israel’s Prime Minister Menachem Begin was asked by a group of Americans what he thought were the lessons of the Holocaust.  He answered, “if an enemy of our people seeks to destroy us, believe him.  Don’t doubt him for a moment, don’t make light of it.  Do all in your power to deny him the means of carrying out his satanic intent.” This past April in Vienna, on the eve of Holocaust Remembrance Day, the Biden Administration joined talks to renegotiate the terms of a return to the 2015 Iran Nuclear Deal (The Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action or JCPOA).  If revived, the Iran Nuclear deal would restore billions of dollars in economic sanctions to Iran, the chief financial backer of Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad.

Israel capitulated in Gaza – what now?

The great strategic question is what should be the long-term future for Gaza? Is there a plan?

The CoS and Intelligence Units
The CoS and Intelligence Units  IDF Spokesman

Modern wars are by their very nature campaigns on multiple fronts of differing channels and importance that are not limited to just the tally on the battlefield itself. The current conflict between Israel and Hamas in Gaza is an example of this and, although agreed to due to US pressure, the resulting cease-fire is no less than a capitulation by Israel to the Arab aggressor.
