Party leader Maxime Bernier announced his Immigration platform for the People’s Party of Canada last night to a cheering crowd that was as diverse as any seen across Canada, clearly reflecting Canada’s cultural and racial diversity. This appears to be reflected in his candidates’ backgrounds as well. However, this crowd was completely united in their support for his policies on immigration, Islamism and the absolute need for integration of immigrants and refugees. Their support reflects a recent poll that suggests 63% of Canadians expressed concerns that the Canadian immigration rate, amongst the highest in the world, should be limited because Canada “might be reaching a limit in its ability to integrate them.”

His star candidate, Dr. Salim Mansur, opened the evening and the crowd exploded with cheers of support upon hearing his prologue to the party’s policy. Mansur is a well known and respected academic and writer who has strong Canadian values. He’s a long time Muslim Canadian who has published work on Political Islam. He embodies the kind of candidate most Canadians would gravitate to because he puts the needs of Canadians above globalist ambitions or those of special interest groups. A year ago, he announced his federal candidacy for Andrew Scheer’s Conservative Party with which he has long term affiliation. As he related in his speech last night, he was only recently notified in a one line email that the Conservative leadership had disallowed his candidacy with no explanation. Those who know and admire Mansur ’s work and integrity could offer no other possible explanation apart from fears of potentially unfounded allegations of racism against a principled, well-qualified candidate who has written about a controversial topic he is well-informed about.
Mansur described the launch to friends today.
“Last evening in Mississauga, Maxime Bernier presented the PPC’s immigration policy. Maxime delivered this speech in the heart of a city, close to the Pearson Airport, that is now the fast growing urban centre in the country with immigrants primarily from South Asia and the Middle East.”
“In other words, Maxime like Daniel was in the Lion’s den unveiling the most sensitive and potentially explosive policy statement in the country among people who are recent arrivals in Canada. Maxime chose to do this to underscore his policy is directed for all Canadians based on Canada’s national interests and not a policy patched and stitched together to please every interest group at the expense of all Canadians and Canadian national interest. Maxime could have chosen to deliver this policy speech in some part of Canada, east or west, predominantly white, of European origin, Christians and Jews; instead he was surrounded by South Asians and non-Europeans, Sikhs, Hindus, Muslims, Christians, Jews, native born Canadians and people who came all the way from Alberta and Manitoba to attend the event.”
“And yet the mainstream media, predictable as ever, went on to present Maxime’s speech as racist even before the crowd of some 900 people had left the hall where they had come to hear Maxime.”
“You judge for yourself, and share Maxime’s speech with friends.”
