Responding to a question on his previous reported comments about the ‘imperfectly’ named War on Terror, Mr. Rumsfeld described radical Islam as a danger equal to the way that “extremism in Christianity or extremism in Judaism is a danger.”
He went on to question the effectiveness of the war, admitting that “we are not competing in that competition of ideas very successfully.”
Let’s check the entire context, Mr.Rumsfeld has earned the benefit of doubt!Something deeper here needs to be considered before calling this amazing,pro Israel and the USA, courageous statesman names!
I used to have a higher opinion of Donald Rumsfeld.
Any of the number of rock bands boycotting Israel I could see making such statements.
Guess the growing process means being let down by people that I would never expect to make such an inane statement.

Rumsfeld has a prior history of antipathy towards Al-Jazeera. Now he not only agrees to be interviewed by them, he applauds them for their work. Then he, apparently, goes on to link false moral equivalencies. What is going on with this man?
This is very disturbing. Rumsfeld knows better than this and that what he is saying is beyond ludicrous. But because he was speaking on al jazeera he felt the need to pander, lie and make a moral equivalency where none exists. No such global terror war is being waged by Christians and Jews. No Jewish or Christian groups exist who kill in the name of their religions. Western leaders refuse to speak honestly about islam in public even on western media outlets, let alone al jazeera. They make themselves look like fools by walking on eggshells regarding this issue and coming up with absurd stretches of logic so as to avoid stating the truth about islam’s violent nature.
