Saudi Intelligence Chief Meets US, Israeli Officials for Terrorist Operations in Syria, Lebanon

TEHRAN (FNA)- US, Saudi and Israeli top security officials have agreed in their secret meetings to strike several targets in Lebanon and Syria, media reports disclosed on Wednesday.

Prince Bandar Bin Sultan, the Saudi National Security Council Secretary and Head of the Saudi Intelligence who is Riyadh’s man for forming, arming and orchestrating terrorist groups in the region, had a meeting with top US security officials in Washington a few weeks ago, Palestinian weekly al-Manar quoted informed sources as saying.

The sources told al-Manar that Bandar Bin Sultan held talks with US vice-presidents during his visit to Washington asking them to let Saudi Arabia supervise operations in Syria and Lebanon.

Bandar Bin Sultan also voiced Riyadh’s readiness to continue support and arms shipments to the terrorist groups in Syria.

The sources added that Prince Bandar has also met with Israel’s top security officials in Tel Aviv where they have devised plans for bombing certain targets inside Syria and Lebanon as well as conducting sabotage activities by terrorist groups in both these countries.

Last week, the Syrian Dam Press news website reported that Bandar Bin Sultan has been forming terrorist groups in Lebanon.

It noted that Bin Sultan has created several terrorist groups in cooperation with Lebanese politicians, including Head of the Lebanese Al-Mustaqbal party Saad al-Hariri and Samir Jaja.

“Prince Bandar has sent a number of its mercenaries to Lebanon via Syria,” Dam Press quoted informed sources as saying.

The sources noted that Bandar’s mercenaries have had special terrorist trainings in camps of the al-Nusra Front terrorist group and the so-called Free Syrian Army in Syria.

The sources also revealed that the Lebanese Resistance Movement Hezbollah is the main target of Prince Bandar’s terrorists.

Saad al-Hariri and Bandar Bin Sultan had a meeting in the Saudi city of Jeddah in October after a terrorist bomb blast in Beirut which led to the killing of the Lebanese Internal Security Forces Chief, General Wissam al-Hassan.

“At the meeting, the two sides conferred on ways of intensifying tensions in Lebanon through terrorist operations by extremist groups who are supported by the al-Saud regime,” Palestinian weekly al-Manar reported in October.

“Prince Bandar coordinates terrorist operations and blasts in Lebanon with Israel and he occasionally makes secret visits to Tel Aviv,” the weekly quoted informed sources as saying.

“The Jeddah meeting presided by (Saad) al-Hariri was held with the aim of creating chaos in Lebanon, and supporting and expanding terrorism in Syria with the coordination and cooperation of their international and regional allies,” the sources told Al-Manar.

The weekly assessed the meeting as part of the US-Israeli plots in the region aimed at spreading violence in Syria and Lebanon through their regional proxy allies, i.e. Saudi Arabia and Qatar.

  1. al-Manar is not “Palestinian” but a Shiite Hizbullah News service. It means al-Manar light house or beacon.
From Wikipedia: Al-Manar (Arabic: ???????[needs IPA]; English: the beacon) is a Lebanese satellite television station affiliated with Hezbollah,[1] broadcasting from Beirut, Lebanon.
“The ‘Palestinian weekly al-Manar’ quoted informed sources as saying…” must also be part of the same outfit.

  2. some interesting background concerning GCC/saud/Qatar on same page(from april)

However, when it came to logistical and military support for the Syrian opposition, most of the work was being done by the kingdom’s small neighbor Qatar. “The truth was that the Saudis and Qataris had reached an agreement, whereby Saudi Arabia outsources the logistical and military support tasks to Qatar, and confines itself to just paying the bills,” the source told Al Arabiya.

  3. Ted, although this may be true it may also be exaggerated. The iranian source of this news may have an agenda to expose and exaggerate Israel saudi relations in order to discredit the “revels”. However, I would not be surprised if it was true as I have been saying that the existence of a grand deal would become clear if the jihadis move against hezbullah and syria, then iraq and iran instead of Israel. However, even if there is a plan I believe israel sits on the fence and goes step by step to ensure that the players are putting their money and assets where their mouth is. I believe the saudis want israel to help in syria and perhaps even to make the iran attack. Why are the sauds there at all(pipeline to the med?)? perhaps they are there in order to weaken hezbullah and syria to lessen blowback on Israel in exchange for Israeli help or israeli attack on Iran. perhaps Israel has said they will make the attack if the blowback is dealt with or just agree to lay low along with the pAls if the US does it. (I don’t think the US wants to be in another war right now). Perhaps the negotiations are meant to keep a lid on the pal Israel conflict during the period that the mercenaries are needed and arab coalitions are built. just speculating. (I think I read elsewhere also about Israel saud meetings in Israel but that could be the same source)
