Shapiro: I didn’t vote for Trump in 2016. I am in 2020 — here’s why.

T. Belman. Shapiro is too critical of Trump’s character. And too acceptant of Clinton.

  1. @ Sebastien Zorn:

interesting example to prove your last point, Sebastien: back in 1992 Jonathan Pollard’s case was reviewed by 3 D.C. circuit justices, Silberman, Ruth Bader Ginzburg (remember her?), and Williams. The first two opposed Pollard’s plea for a new retrial, the third (the non-Jew) agreed, but was voted down. So Pollard was thrown back into solitary, thanks largely to these 2 @#$% jewish judges.

and don’t forget lousy little jewboy, casper weinberger whose last-minute memo was a big reason Pollard’s life sentence. c.w. gave his undisclosed memo to the main judge in the case, aubrey robinson (a black man, who said Pollard’s disclosed info about Israel-South african links “weighed heavily” in his original sentencing, even though such info had nothing to do with the original reason Pollard was arrested,)

btw, weinberger used words like “perfidious” and “treasonous” to describe Pollard to cement his case, and of course Pollard paid a terrible price for trying to help Israel– an ally of the US.

  2. @ deanblake:
I actually saw Schumer and Koch in taped talks before Jewish audiences half-seriously, but seriously, saying that in the unlikely event the US went to war with Israel, they would fight for the US. Who needs such people?

  3. @ deanblake:
Ha ha. On whose behalf, pray-tell? Antisemites will believe that of us, no matter what we say or do. Why shouldn’t we champion our own first like every other ethnic group? Moreover, the idea that Jews should put the nations they reside in first comes, defensively, from the era before Israel was reborn. Pollard did the right thing. If they want to discriminate against us in hiring for such positions because they are afraid for our loyalties, fine. I have noticed that the higher up we go, the more those of us who rise, will be inclined to bend over backwards to prove that they don’t have dual loyalties. Better a loyal non-Jewish friend in a position of power here than an Insecure Jewish politician we can’t count on.

  4. @ Laura:
Hasadim follow orders from above, the priority is numbers and with woefully inadequate secular education, they are an enormous yet precarious economic pyramid scheme.
The facts on Trump’s money and loyalties are not in yet. Deutch a Bank loaned him money when he was a serial Bankrupt. Who backed them? Trump has ties in UK and these banks are terribly corrupt as front men.

  5. @ Sebastien Zorn:
I think he voted third party. Anyway, I often find Ben and his holier-than-though attitude about Trump to be annoying. Trump’s minor character flaws pale in comparison to Biden’s major character flaws such as corruption on a massive scale. Trump at least has never sold out this country to foreign enemies, he hasn’t taken bribes and so forth. He’s conducted his businesses honestly. Why can’t Ben simply state his support for Trump without qualifiers? Why must he feel the need to point out Trump’s very minor flaws? The Hasidim are more dedicated Jews than Ben and they enthusiastically back Trump without nitpicking about his “character”, which is far better than anyone else in DC.

  6. He’s an observant Orthodox Jew, right? I cannot understand Jews who do not put Israel’s survival at the top of their priorities. Especially the ones who beat their chests about being proud of being Jewish. So stupid and disloyal.

  7. Iran was also the biggest issue in 2016. If he didn’t vote for Trump in 2016, does that mean he voted for crooked HIllary? This lessens my respect for him, tremendously.

  8. He’s also wrong about President Trump losing support among minorities. All the blathering by some Republicans like him about Trump’s immorality is silly. I don’t find him immoral. And, I enjoy the way he interacts with the public. I find him refreshing. I am not alone. He is a snob. But, otherwise it’s pretty good.
