WHY DO BILLIONAIRES TEND TO SUPPORT THE DEMOCRATS RATHER THAN THE REPUBLICANS?

Liberal billionaire George Soros is on pace to double his 2016 election spending as he works to oust President Donald Trump, public records show.
Soros’s big investments in the 2020 race have gone into the coffers of the Democracy PAC, a super PAC that passes money to other liberal PACs working to defeat Trump and congressional Republicans. The super PAC has received $40 million—double the $20 million Soros spent on Democratic efforts during the 2016 election cycle—from both Soros and a nonprofit in his sprawling network.
The megadonor’s torrent of spending highlights the extent to which liberal donors are committed to getting Trump out of office. Many groups financially backed by Soros have launched multimillion-dollar attack ad campaigns in swing states to reach moderate voters who backed Trump in 2016. A network of liberal donors, including Soros, has pledged hundreds of millions on 2020 election efforts.
Republicans have noted that many Democratic candidates who lambast big money in politics benefit from the billionaire’s cash. “While Democrats across the country sanctimoniously rail against the influence of dark money in politics, their party’s largest donors are bankrolling a massive web of liberal organizations to get them elected,” one operative said. “George Soros’s unprecedented spending further highlights just how dependent Democrats are on contributions from billionaires, despite their hypocritical rhetoric.”
Soros has directly provided $5.5 million to his super PAC. Another $35 million came from his Fund for Policy Reform, a nonprofit in his Open Society Foundations network that reported having $750 million in the bank on its most recent tax forms. This arrangement allows Soros to keep his name from the top of lists highlighting the biggest donors to political committees while he gives tens of millions indirectly. Factoring in the money from the nonprofit, Soros’s election spending eclipses that of any right-leaning donor this cycle. It also puts him on par with fellow liberal billionaire Tom Steyer, who has pumped $40 million into 2020 elections and is ranked as the largest donor this cycle.
Democracy PAC has so far pushed $25 million to other liberal PACs. Its biggest expenditures include a $7 million donation to the Senate Majority PAC, a committee tied to Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D., N.Y.); $5 million to Priorities USA Action, the largest outside pro-Biden PAC; and $2.5 million to the left-wing Win Justice coalition. Democracy PAC has also spent big on state campaigns and passed money to another Soros PAC focused on electing far-left prosecutors.
Many of the groups that receive money from Soros are top spenders backing massive anti-Trump campaigns. Priorities USA is the biggest outside spender this cycle, according to the Center for Responsive Politics, having spent more than $28 million. Its efforts include anti-Trump advertisements focused on criticizing the president’s response to the coronavirus pandemic in the swing states of Pennsylvania, Michigan, and Wisconsin.
Soros also sent $2 million to committees directly, without passing the contributions through his PAC. These donations include $500,000 to the Democratic Grassroots Victory Fund—a joint fundraising committee between the DNC, all 50 state Democratic parties, and the District of Columbia Democratic committee. He sent hundreds of thousands more to House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s (D., Calif.) victory fund, the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee, and other Democratic committees.
Soros’s donations to PACs and committees contribute to a $275 million election-spending plan outlined by a liberal donor network the financier cofounded. Confidential documents from the Democracy Alliance show these plans include funding numerous state-based initiatives, including year-round organizing in Arizona, Florida, Colorado, Georgia, Michigan, New Mexico, Nevada, and Virginia. The donor club has pushed more than $1.83 billion into progressive infrastructure since its founding in 2005, its documents state.
Soros’s spokesperson did not provide a comment by press time.
Another piece of divide-and-conquer demagoguery. Things are not that simple.
Both Republicans and Democrats are supported by billionaires but it is difficult to tell how much exactly each side gets because of non-disclosure rules.

The article is from 2014 but many points are still valid, it talks about ALL the billionaires, not only about Soros.
Billionaires cannot be socialists because socialism would immediately nationalize their wealth and jeopardize their very lives and the lives of their families.
Obviously, there may be other reasons.
I think many of them don’t find Republican policies very attractive precisely because when taken to the extreme these policies may quickly lead to a revolutionary situation.
The masses are not going to sit quietly after they are deprived of health care, social security benefits, vacations, sick leaves, have to breathe heavy smog, etc.
History shows that they cannot be abused without limit.
Anyway, the fact is that the government is controlled by competing groups of billionaires rather than by voters, and THIS is the REAL problem, NOT which side (Democrats or Republicans) gets more money from billionaires.
Ancient Rome published proscription lists and seized fortunes in difficult times like these. I now understand and appreciate the bloody and reprehensible practice. France did likewise to the filthy rich nobility during their Revolution. Russia likewise. They bring it down upon themselves.

A startling new investigation has revealed that Amazon provides charitable funding to the controversial and hyper-liberal Southern Poverty Law Center through the AmazonSmile customer giving program. Yet Amazon lets the SPLC act as a gatekeeper for the program, which means SPLC denies Amazon customers the ability to give to politically conservative organizations. As a result, organizations that promote conservative ideas are cut off from funds, while Amazon allows donations to a variety of liberal organizations that include Planned Parenthood, the Freedom from Religion Foundation, and the SPLC itself, which is the 33rd largest recipient of AmazonSmile contributions. A watchdog organization has placed an initiative on Amazon’s annual shareholder vote and is running a public petition campaign designed to end the injustice of SPLC both controlling and benefiting from the AmazonSmile program. The National Center for Public Policy Research reviewed AmazonSmile’s last filed 990 form, which is a disclosure document required of all charitable organizations. In fiscal 2018, AmazonSmile delivered some $44 million to nonprofits, by allowing customers to earmark ½ of 1% of their purchases to these groups. This makes them one of the largest grantors of such funds in America. Since 2017, however, AmazonSmile has appointed the SPLC to control access to these funds through their propagandist “hate list,” which they have acknowledged is intended to be used to inflict economic discrimination and censorship on organizations they put on the list. It is part of the SPLC’s broader effort to stigmatize and eliminate mainstream conservative thought.”
Apparently I was correct about Bezos. This is from an article about him on the MSNBC site: “He’s donated to mostly Democrats: Bezos has been described by friends as a libertarian, but he’s given donations to mostly Democrats and a few Republicans.[bolding mine]. That includes Democratic Sens. Patty Murray and Maria Cantwell of his home state of Washington, in addition to Democratic Sen. Pat Leahy of Vermont and Democratic Rep. John Conyers of Michigan. Republicans include former Sen. Edward Abraham of Michigan and former Sen. Slade Gorton of Washington. He’s also given regular donations to his Amazon corporate PAC, which donates to both parties.

It was seen as a counterpoint to fast food chain Chick-fil-A, whose president donated money to organizations that oppose same-sex marriage. MSNBC also points out that Bezos is the owner of the left-leaning Washington Post.
Soros is only one of many billinaire donors to “progressive” PACS and nonprofits. Bill Gates and Warren Buffet are also substantial donors. I think also Jeff Bezos. Someone correct me if I am wrong about that.

The answer to the question is simple. Billionaires like George Soros donate their money to Democrats because the Democrats are useful idiots who will provide the political policies necessary to shatter America from within and fundamentally transform America’s constitutional republic into socialism. Socialism is the prerequisite for imposition of globalism’s internationalized New World Order, and its one-world government ruled by the globalist elite themselves, of course.
