Avi is right. Hamas are trying to get us to agree to an offer that is no longer on the table. That offer was rejected by Hamas months ago! The people on the street are either too dumb to realize the damage they are doing or they’re getting well paid to do so. Maybe some of those investigators trying to catch Netanyahu on a slip of his tongue should be following the money trail to those leading the protests.
I agree with most of what Avi says here. There is no question that the “free the hostages now by handing Gaza to Hamas” movement is extremely destructive and causes Israel a lot of harm. It is essentially just a continuation of the Jewish intifada of 2021-23, which facilitated Hamas’ Octor 7 invasion in the first place. At the time of this Jewish intifada, there were very few hostages being held by Hamas. But the riots and rebellion against Israel’s elected government enabled Hamas to invade, kill, torture and rape numerous Israelis, and seize the hostages. The present demonstrations and the nationwide strike by the leftist-dominated labor federations are just a continuation of the Jewish intifada, and may have the same disastrous conwquences (may God forbid.)
I disagree with Avi about Syria. Israel had enough enemies before she initiated a war with the current Syrian regime. This regime had not been especially hostile to Israel before Israel began its military intervention. Now it may invite the Hezbollah and the other Iran-backed terrorists whom the regime had earlier expelled from the country to help it in its war with Israel. And it is in the process of inviting Russia back into the country after having mforced their withdrawal earlier. It also undercuts Trump unnecessarily. since Trump had recognized the Syrian regime and received their emissaries in the White House. Of course I am concerned for the Syrian Druze. But the Israeli government should remember that Israel is a Jeish state, not a Druze state..We should by grateful to the Israeli Druze for their military and other support for the state. But Israel cannot afford to do whatever its Druze citizens want it to do.

Jolani is a Turkish proxy, and a life long Jihadist who seems to have convinced the world that he could emulate Clark Kent by changing his nature with a change of clothes. He has overseen the slaughter of the minorities, as expected, despite his declarations to do the contrary. He never earned the slightest bit of the trust which he was granted by the Trump and others, including you yourself, with all due respect.
Now it may invite the Hezbollah and the other Iran-backed terrorists whom the regime had earlier expelled from the country to help it in its war with Israel.
Iran/Hezbollah and Jolani are mortal enemies. There may be some relationship built between these two power poles in the Middle East, ie Iran and Turkey, but Turkey’s proxy will not invite Iran back into Syria, not ever.

I disagree. The Druze community are an integral part of Israeli society. There is no way Israel could remain silent as the slaughter of the Druze’s cousins were being ritualistically recorded, in close recollection of October 7. And the voices calling for Israeli intervention in Suweyda were not limited to the Druze themselves, as Avi demonstrates.
As far as war with Syria is concerned, Israel has been at war with Syria since 1948. There has been a cease fire when it suits the Syrians but no peace. That being the case, Israel has always had a careful, watchful eye on Syria. Now that Assad is gone and Jolani is here doesn’t mean that anyone can afford to be less vigilant.

The big question is who actually paid for the protests against the judicial reform that led to this war with Hamas.
