The Catholic Church declares war on Jews and Israel

Catholic Cleric: Jesus Cancelled Biblical ‘Chosen People’

by Tzvi Ben Gedalyahu,INN

The Creator’s promise in the Bible that the Promised Land belongs to the Jewish People is no longer valid, a Catholic synod declared. An American archbishop at the Synod explained Saturday that the promise of the Creator was “abolished by the presence of Christ.”

In a decision that is bound to set off a furious reaction from many Jewish leaders, the synod concluded that “recourse to theological and biblical positions which use the Word of G-d to wrongly justify injustices is not acceptable.”

However, an inherently contradictory Synod statement also declared, “The same Scriptures unite us; the Old Testament, the Word of G-d is for both you and us… We believe in the promises of God and his covenant given to Abraham and to you. We believe that the Word of G-d is eternal.”

The Catholic church in recent years has been trying to overcome centuries of anti-Semitism and proof that it exploited the Holocaust to try to convert Jews who were saved.

U.S. archbishop Cyril Salim Bustros, who heads the commission that issued the Synod statement, is a Lebanese native. He told reporters, “For Christians, one can no longer talk of the land promised to the Jewish people… There is no longer a favored people, a chosen people; all men and women of every country have become the chosen people.”

The term “chosen people” does not symbolize superiority in Judaism, rather it means chosen to be obligated to the 613 commandments in the Bible and to inherit the Land of Israel.

After two weeks of meetings, the Synod also said that a two-state solution of a Palestinian Authority country, in place of most of the Land Israel, would help stem the exodus of Christians from the area.

Concerning Jerusalem, the Synod said it is “anxious about the unilateral initiatives that threaten its composition and risk to change its demographic balance.” After Jordanian-occupied area of Jerusalem were restored to Israel in 1967, the Israeli government opened all Christian holy sites after Jordan had banned non-official visits and closed the sites to tourists from 1948.

The Synod recognized “the suffering and insecurity in which Israelis live” but focused on what it called Palestinian Authority “suffering [of] the consequences of the Israeli occupation: the lack of freedom of movement, the wall of separation and the military checkpoints, the political prisoners, the demolition of homes, [and] the disturbance of socio-economic life and the thousands of refugees.”

  1. Catholics and the Judaization of Jerusalem:

Christianity was invented by the greek orthodox in the eastern mediterranean, and was passed on to the roman catholics in western europe. For all practical purposes, there were no catholics in the eastern mediterranean for the first thousand years of christianity.

The greek orthodox were eventually conquered by the muslims. Then the western european catholics showed up in the crusades. They massacred tens of thousands of Jews living in europe. And they massacred or enslaved every last Jew in Jerusalem, and forbade any Jew from entering Jerusalem for the hundred years the catholics had control.

Jews were not allowed back into Jerusalem until the muslims re-conquered Jerusalem from the catholics. The muslims hated the catholics (who lived in europe free from muslim domination), and favored the greek orthodox (who were at the mercy of the muslims).

The catholics were finally able to buy up some property in Jerusalem in the last 200 years, as the muslim turks went bankrupt and were forced to sell to the catholics.

So here is where we stand: catholics say all catholic purchases in Israel are kosher, but all Jewish purchases are illegal and invalid. Catholics say that it is perfectly fine for catholics to kill every Jew in Jerusalem, and to “catholicize vatican city”, but Israeli Jews “Judaizing Jerusalem” is unacceptable.

To sum up the catholic view: catholics get…everything; Jews get…shit.

We Jews have to unload our ghetto mentality and finally stand up for Judaism against these Jew-hating goyim.

  2. It is worth reading the full text of the Synod’s findings and proposals that Samuel provided at: http://www.zenit.org/article-30744?l=english

There is much there that many here will find great fodder to mock, but that would not be the point of the exercise of reading the entire text. It would for instance reveal just how the Synod of Bishops are so out of touch with realities, not only as regards the Israel v. Palestinian conflict, but even as regards Christian relations with Muslims that continue to impact the church.

In that text as well you will find that the Synod Bishops are being guided by the Catholic dogma and beliefs so that they are compelled to assess realities on the ground from the spiritual plane. One might suggest they look down on the grounded realities with their heads stuck in the clouds.

What also is revealed by the Synod’s concluding statement appears to be an underlying fear of Muslims. The Synod has assiduously avoided speaking of Christian-Muslim differences and battles that still rage, at least coming from some in the Muslim world. The Synod suggests both Christians and Muslims believe in the very same God and speak of a glorious common interest in continued co-operation and dialogue with Muslims.

Reading what the Synod has to say in that regard along with their take on the Israel vs. Palestinian war, it appears the Synod has adopted an approach to its analysis rife with words to appease Muslim sensibilities.

The expression, “my how the mighty (ie. the Catholic Church) have fallen (ie.in the face of Islam)” comes to mind when reading the Synod’s statement.
For example, consider the following that deals more specifically with relations with the the Muslim world:

    V. Cooperation and Dialogue with Our Fellow-Citizens, the Muslims

    9. We are united by the faith in one God and by the commandment that says: do good and avoid evil. The words of the Second Vatican Council on the relations with other religions offer the basis for the relationship between the Catholic Church and the Muslims: “The Church regards with esteem also the Muslims. They adore the one God, living and subsisting in Himself; merciful and all- powerful, the Creator of heaven and earth, who has spoken to men” (Nostra aetate 3).

We say to our Muslim fellow-citizens: we are brothers and sisters; God wishes us to be together, united by one faith in God and by the dual commandment of love of God and neighbour. Together we will construct our civil societies on the basis of citizenship, religious freedom and freedom of conscience. Together we will work for the promotion of justice, peace, the rights of persons and the values of life and of the family. The construction of our countries is our common responsibility. We wish to offer to the East and to the West a model of coexistence between different religions and of positive collaboration between different civilisations for the good of our countries and that of all humanity.

Since the appearance of Islam in the seventh century and to the present, we have lived together and we have collaborated in the creation of our common civilisation. As in the past and still existent today, some imbalances are present in our relations. Through dialogue we must avoid all imbalances and misunderstandings. Pope Benedict XVI tells us that our dialogue must not be a passing reality. It is rather a vital necessity on which our future depends (Pope Benedict XVI, Meeting with Representatives from the Muslim Communities, Cologne, 20 August 2005). Our duty then is to educate believers concerning interreligious dialogue, the acceptance of pluralism and mutual esteem.

  3. When this pope was selected he was chosen because the church officials wanted to old school. I saw the previous pope on a trip he made to Canada. He was riding in his Pope Mobile. There were several kiosks selling souveniers of him like Pope on Roap which was soap on a roap medallions etc. I thought what a bunch of hype. It made me sick to my stomach. Rome wasnt built in a day so it will take awhile to tear it down.

  4. Catholics feel they can baffle Jews with bullshit:

The actual text of the Mideast Synod’s Concluding Text is hard to find:
    http://www.zenit.org/article-30744?l=english

Here’s what it says about Jewish Israel and Jewish Jerusalem:

We have taken account of the impact of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict on the whole region, especially on the PALESTINIANS who are SUFFERING the consequences of the ISRAELI OCCUPATION: the lack of freedom of movement, the wall of separation and the military checkpoints, the POLITICAL PRISONERS, the DEMOLITION OF HOMES, the disturbance of socio-economic life and the THOUSANDS OF REFUGEES. We have reflected on the suffering and insecurity in which Israelis live. We have meditated on the situation of the holy city of JERUSALEM. We are ANXIOUS about the UNILATERAL initiatives that THREATEN its composition and risk to CHANGE its DEMOGRAPHIC BALANCE.

Here is what is says about the ability of Jews to interpret the Torah properly:

Recourse to theological and biblical positions which use the Word of God to wrongly justify injustices is not acceptable.

This is the official position of the nazi pope, the representative of jesus on earth who is infallible in matters of religion. He wants to see Jewish Israel as small and weak as possible. He wants Jerusalem to be an international city with catholics in partial control, and opposes the “Judaization of Jerusalem”. Just as jesus did not “abolish” the Torah, but “fulfilled” it, the pope says the Jews did not actually “lose” their position as “chosen people” but the catholics are now “more chosen” than the Jews, and Jews will become “fulfilled jews” only when they finally renounce Judaism altogether and become catholics.

Why do we Jews dance around the fundamental, irreversible, fanatical hatred of catholicism for Judaism? (I can understand why a few catholics are ashamed, and try to downplay it.) The european catholics killed all six million of their Jews. Those horrible mamzayrim cannot hurt us much anymore: all they can do to us now is pray to jesus to help their muslim friends destroy the six million Israeli Jews.

  5. It’s not accurate to say that “A Catholic synod declared” that “the Creator’s promise in the Bible that the Promised Land belongs to the Jewish People is no longer valid”

If you read the only official statement released by the synod, you will not find those words. The only place you will find those words is emanating from Archbishop Bustros’ mouth. And he does not have the authority to speak for the Synod. I suggest that you read these:

    http://www.catholicnews.com/data/stories/cns/1004382.htm

    http://ncronline.org/blogs/ncr-today/acrimony-israel-clouds-close-middle-east-synod

    http://www.asianews.it/news-en/Synod-for-the-Middle-East:-a-Message-to-the-People-of-God-19805.html

There are enough actual issues for Catholics, Jews and Muslims to overcome without creating false ones.

  6. I dunno…

I seem to recall the last Pope – that Polish guy – was very pro-Israel, greatly improved Israel-Vatican relations.

    Now this.

I smell a former Nazi who has not been completely “deprogrammed”.

I also smell a big giant bucket of Saudi money in the Swiss bank account of some Catholic mucky-mucks.

I mean, all of this intellectualizing above…just isn’t necessary. Hmmmmmm. Let’s see…the Moslem persecution of Christians, this can be solved by blaming the Jews – er, oops! sorry – Israel. Sounds like something Jimmy Carter or Barack Hussein Obama or James Baker III would come up with…and for the same reasons!

So, ah, what is the deep theological interpretation of that??

  7. Or another angle to explain the antisemitism could stem from the Founder of Christianity Paul. Wasnt it him and his crew that were responsible for destroying the second temple? What better way to let the antisemites win by falling into their divide and conquer plan by Jews persecuting each other. According to the Christian New Testament Jesus never claimed to be G-d or the Messiah. It is possible that Jesus was a persecuted Jew. Many things are said and done in his name that he would probably totally disagree and disapprove of. And who said he was some pure perfect celibate halo guy?

  8. Is it any wonder I can never relate to Jews 4 Jesus?
I firmly believe that most of anti-Semitism (and specifically European) is rooted in belief in Jesus.
When I was stationed with the US Army in Germany, the hatred would rear it’s ugly head right around the performance of the Passion Play at Oberramergau or around the Christian High Holidays.

Unfortunately our Catholic Church higher hierarchy is full of old guys who just don’t get it and it smells of anti-Semitism.

    Murderers!

  10. This is just one cleric, not the whole Catholic church

You got that right Andy, the church membership doesn’t have a say in this matter and they are not behind it.

Unfortunately our Catholic Church higher hierarchy is full of old guys who just don’t get it and it smells of anti-Semitism.

If they want to do something constructive, encourage and help the Palestinians to relocate from the Holy Land and stop fighting with the Israelis for control of the religious sites. They are in good hands with the Israelis who will see that there is free access and will protect them.

And as Uncle Nahum (Yamit) said the Vatican needs to clean house and return anything that belongs to the Jews.

Keeping something that belongs to others is not my idea of Christian charity.

Time for the old guys to retire, quit or whatever.

How about recognizing the Holy Land as home of the Jews and put support behind it. That would be Christian.

Hey who listens to me, I am just one of those at the bottom of the totem pole.

  11. his is just one cleric, not the whole Catholic church, right? He may be just an outliar.

No Andy, this is from a synod. A synod (also known as a council) is a council of a church, usually a Christian church, convened to decide an issue of doctrine, administration or application. An ecumenical council is so named because it is a synod of the whole church.
The word comes from the Greek ??????? meaning “assembly” or “meeting”, and it is synonymous with the Latin word concilium — “council”. Originally synods were meetings of bishops, and the word is still used in that sense in Catholicism and Eastern Orthodoxy.
    This from Wiki.

The entire world is taking its mask off again. May Hashem bring the Geulah achshav b’rachamim.

  12. The Catholic Church probably said this so they could justify a stake in Israel. Christian theology also teaches that Christians are Chosen. WHEN is the G-d of Israel going to FINALLY come through for the Jew. No wonder so many Jews have lost their faith. What kind of idiot would really WANT to be chosen at this point. Its as bad as being chosen to be a Prophet. Sure one can still be proud to be a Jew but the gentile has got to get off this jealousy kick.

And this shall be the plague wherewith the LORD will smite all the peoples that have warred against Jerusalem: their flesh shall consume away while they stand upon their feet, and their eyes shall consume away in their sockets, and their tongue shall consume away in their mouth.

As brilliantly depicted by Steven Spielberg in Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark.

    Oh! Wait!

  15. There is still a prophesy yet to be fulfilled: Zechariah Chapter 14

And it shall come to pass, that in all the land, saith the LORD, two parts therein shall be cut off and die; but the third shall be left therein. And I will bring the third part through the fire, and will refine them as silver is refined, and will try them as gold is tried; they shall call on My name, and I will answer them; I will say: ‘It is My people’, and they shall say: ‘The LORD is my God. For I will gather all nations against Jerusalem to battle; and the city shall be taken, and the houses rifled, and the women ravished; and half of the city shall go forth into captivity, but the residue of the people shall not be cut off from the city. Then shall the LORD go forth, and fight against those nations, as when He fighteth in the day of battle. And His feet shall stand in that day upon the mount of Olives, which is before Jerusalem on the east, and the mount of Olives shall cleft in the midst thereof toward the east and toward the west, so that there shall be a very great valley; and half of the mountain shall remove toward the north, and half of it toward the south. And ye shall flee to the valley of the mountains; for the valley of the mountains shall reach unto Azel; yea, ye shall flee, like as ye fled from before the earthquake in the days of Uzziah king of Judah; and the LORD my God shall come, and all the holy ones with Thee. And it shall come to pass in that day, that there shall not be light, but heavy clouds and thick; And there shall be one day which shall be known as the LORD’S, not day, and not night; but it shall come to pass, that at evening time there shall be light. And it shall come to pass in that day, that living waters shall go out from Jerusalem: half of them toward the eastern sea, and half of them toward the western sea; in summer and in winter shall it be. And the LORD shall be King over all the earth; in that day shall the LORD be One, and His name one. All the land shall be turned as the Arabah, from Geba to Rimmon south of Jerusalem; and she shall be lifted up, and inhabited in her place, from Benjamin’s gate unto the place of the first gate, unto the corner gate, and from the tower of Hananel unto the king’s winepresses. And men shall dwell therein, and there shall be no more extermination; but Jerusalem shall dwell safely. And this shall be the plague wherewith the LORD will smite all the peoples that have warred against Jerusalem: their flesh shall consume away while they stand upon their feet, and their eyes shall consume away in their sockets, and their tongue shall consume away in their mouth. And it shall come to pass in that day, that a great tumult from the LORD shall be among them; and they shall lay hold every one on the hand of his neighbour, and his hand shall rise up against the hand of his neighbour. And Judah also shall fight against Jerusalem; and the wealth of all the nations round about shall be gathered together, gold, and silver, and apparel, in great abundance. And so shall be the plague of the horse, of the mule, of the camel, and of the ass, and of all the beasts that shall be in those camps, as this plague. And it shall come to pass, that every one that is left of all the nations that came against Jerusalem shall go up from year to year to worship the King, the LORD of hosts, and to keep the feast of tabernacles. And it shall be, that whoso of the families of the earth goeth not up unto Jerusalem to worship the King, the LORD of hosts, upon them there shall be no rain. And if the family of Egypt go not up, and come not, they shall have no overflow; there shall be the plague, wherewith the LORD will smite the nations that go not up to keep the feast of tabernacles. This shall be the punishment of Egypt, and the punishment of all the nations that go not up to keep the feast of tabernacles. In that day shall there be upon the bells of the horses: HOLY UNTO THE LORD; and the pots in the LORD’S house shall be like the basins before the altar. Yea, every pot in Jerusalem and in Judah shall be holy unto the LORD of hosts; and all they that sacrifice shall come and take of them, and seethe therein; and in that day there shall be no more a trafficker in the house of the LORD of hosts

  16. ShyGuy and Fistel I think will understand what I am saying here.

I am reminded by the Church and Obama and the little creature of Iran among others of the Midrash: The Laughter of Rabbi Akiva

    Talmud, Makkot 24b:

Again it happened that Rabban Gamliel, Rabbi Elazar ben Azaria, Rabbi Joshua and Rabbi Akiva went up to Jerusalem. When they reached Mt. Scopus, they tore their garments. When they reached the Temple Mount, they saw a fox emerging from the place of the Holy of Holies. The others started weeping; Rabbi Akiva laughed.

Said they to him: “Why are you laughing?”

Said he to them: “Why are you weeping?”

Said they to him: “A place [so holy] that it is said of it, ‘the stranger that approaches it shall die, and now foxes traverse it, and we shouldn’t weep?”

Said he to them: “That is why I laugh. For it is written, ‘I shall have bear witness for Me faithful witnesses–Uriah the Priest and Zechariah the son of Jeberechiah.’Now what is the connection between Uriah and Zechariah? Uriah was [in the time of] the First Temple, and Zechariah was [in the time of] the Second Temple! But the Torah makes Zachariah’s prophecy dependent upon Uriah’s prophecy. With Uriah, it is written: ‘Therefore, because of you, Zion shall be plowed as a field; [Jerusalem shall become heaps, and the Temple Mount like the high places of a forest.]’ With Zachariah it is written, ‘Old men and women shall yet sit in the streets of Jerusalem.’

“As long as Uriah’s prophecy had not been fulfilled, I feared that Zechariah’s prophecy may not be fulfilled either. But now that Uriah’s prophecy has been fulfilled, it is certain that Zechariah’s prophecy will be fulfilled.”

With these words they replied to him: “Akiva, you have consoled us! Akiva, you have consoled us!

  17. Nazi catholic pope condemns the few Jews remaining alive in the world:

Inevitably, we’ll hear again and again from catholic apologists that: “I don’t agree with the pope on this, not all catholics hate Jews, and if you, as a Jew, say that catholicism sucks, then it is you, the Jew, who really sucks.”

Then so be it. Catholicism hates Jews. Catholicism accepts that their three, three, three gods in one rejected Jews and cursed them forever. Catholicsm has persecuted and slaughtered Jews from the get-go. It is no coincidence that hitler, goebbels, himmler and heydrich, among many other nazi leaders, were all catholics.

Catholicism believes that Jews should always be treated with humiliation, as inferiors. Part of that eternal humiliation should be the permanent loss of any state of their own (the wandering Jews). They always were opposed to the formation of the Jewish state of Israel, and resisted for the longest time recognizing it.

They are totally opposed to the Jews rebuilding the Temple in Jerusalem, and totally support the muslim claim of ownership of the Temple Mount. They want Jerusalem to be a shared city, with catholics having a big say in its control, but if they cannot have that, then they far prefer muslims have Jerusalem rather than Jews.

Their hatred of Jews comes down to this: they are willing to see every last christian in the middle east (the birthplace of christianity) driven out or killed by the muslims, if it means the muslims also kill the Israeli Jews.

Do you know the argument that: I shouldn’t say these things out loud, because it will only alienate the few catholics that do not already hate Jews? Well, the german Jews said you shouldn’t criticize the christian nazis, because it will only alienate the few germans who still do not hate Jews.

(And the real showdown is coming up, when Obama turns outright against Jewish Israel, and Israel will have to decide how to respond, and whether they can live without America.)

I think we have to assume that someone of that name existed, but that the stories such as a “virgin birth,” and all the other superstitions are nonsense. It may be a good idea to do something in an area in which Israelis are known to excel: archaeology. The basis for a “historical Jesus” should be sought and if it exists, it should be brought into the open.

Keelie, I used to think like you. Follow the link I gave you. The articles are most rational and analytical. Whether there was or wasn’t a person named jesus after whom the gospel stories are attributed to, Paul wasn’t referring at all to a human savior in the epistles.

It is a mind opener. I thank Yamit for originally recommending the book about a year ago. It is a long read but worth it for the details it goes through. Parts of the book are theoretical but the crux of the claims and proofs documented there are very conclusive: christianity is one of the greatest of shams in the history of mankind.

I have read other books with the same claim but stopped reading them because they based themselves on frivolous logic or questionable conclusions. Not this book!

  19. The Synod perversely places the blame on the Jews for Palestinian persecution of Christians, suggesting that all Israel has to do to make life easier for Christians in Muslim lands is to give up most of Israel to the Palestinians.

Well… It’s a synod after all; not a meeting of MENSA members… Can’t expect too much from a religious dynasaur…

  20. The article speaks of the Catholic Church seeking to rid itself of the stain of anti-semitism, yet the Synod issued the following statement:

the Synod also said that a two-state solution of a Palestinian Authority country, in place of most of the Land Israel, would help stem the exodus of Christians from the area.

Christians have been under serious and sometimes lethal persecutorial seige in some Muslim nations and within the territories under Palestinian control. The decline of the Christian population in Bethlehem from about 80% to now about 15%, is often cited in this regard.

The Synod perversely places the blame on the Jews for Palestinian persecution of Christians, suggesting that all Israel has to do to make life easier for Christians in Muslim lands is to give up most of Israel to the Palestinians. Such statements coming from a Catholic Church body, is just more evidence that in seeking to erase the stain of antisemitism from their church, Catholic leaders work at cross purposes and thus only spread that stain deeper and wider.

  21. Catholic Cleric: Jesus Cancelled Biblical ‘Chosen People’

Christians won’t believe or accept this but very soon maybe even in most of our lifespans Jesus is the one who will be canceled along with I am afraid many if not most of his followers.

No point in simply saying “he didn’t exist” without some proof. That’s just as bad as saying “he did exist” without some proof.

Seems to me that something of some importance happened around the time of the Romans, and this should be investigated. Of course, as you say, it could all be simply a myth; a fairy tale that was bought into (as if they had a choice) by the ignorant of the time, forced upon them by those in powerful control of the political situation, namely the Romans.

It was at Nicaea, by the way, that the word “heresy” was brought into play. It apparently came from the Greek root meaning “to doubt”. Those at the receiving end of the Roman power at the time, were not allowed to doubt, as we Jews – at least some of us – tend to do. The attitude of the “doubting Jew” was possibly the reason for the hatred, and ultimately genocide, that was heaped upon us for two millenia. All nicely defined and arranged by the Catholic Church formed at Nicaea. Stiff-necked Jews indeed!!!

Oh – and the American Archbishop should be spending his time trying to figure out why his priests have become sexual predators among the flock… Or is he blaming the Jews for that?

  23. Yes – if you look at the roots of Christianity, namely what happened at the Nicaea meeting between Constantine and his folks, you realize that this event, one that took place about 370 years after Jesus, was a man-made concoction designed to set up a very effective power structure, basically by defining what God was and what He wanted from both Jesus and his followers. In other words, as you say, a fairy tale.

It’s as if today someone were to create a religion (or any other type of organization) based on an event that happened in the year 1640. 370 years of distortions.

Better to assess all this rationally and accept, perhaps by conversion, what Jesus actually was: a Jew.

  24. My comment at INN:

    58. Tanach verses for (christian) dummies

“And the statutes, and the ordinances, and the law, and the commandment, which He wrote for you, ye shall observe to do for evermore; and ye shall not fear other gods. ”
    – 2 Kings 17:37

“The works of His hands are truth and justice; all His precepts are sure.
They are established for ever and ever, they are done in truth and uprightness.
    He hath sent redemption unto His people; He hath commanded His covenant for ever;
Holy and revered is His name. ”
    – Psalms 111:7-9

So when are you christians (yep, you evangelicals just the same as the catholics) going to deal with the reality of falling for a fictional fairy tail book based on pagan myths of a dead Jew on a stick, who never existed in the first place?

Remember: “The truth will set you free. ”

Stop covering your eyes and sticking your fingers in your ears. Start facing the reality of your 2000 year old folly.
