  1. I too, reject TSS – its a chimera and people keep chasing after it because its the only game in town.

Like the chimera, it will only remain an apparition.

  2. I though Caroline did poorly. Also at one point she lost it. A friend of mine said she was strident.

Shavit was smooth and spouted the leftist line, namely, a tss is not available now but we must keep the possibility open for an impossible deal tomorrow, no matter how long. In doing so we stay on good relations with the US which we must do. He believes as does Sherman that we cannot annex the land and offer citizenship to the Arabs because it will lead to disaster. I tend to agree.

Caroline on the other hand says that to create a Palestinian state will also be a disaster. She argues that there are many problems with her solution but we will be in charge and therefor can work out the problems. She bridled at the idea that we should change our policies to appease the West.

So bottom line Shavit argues to maintain the status quo and the goal of the TSS and Glick argues to abandon the TSS idea and to work toward other solutions. I think she is not wedded to her solution in particular but she is wedded to rejecting the TSS.

  3. Superb video. Caroline Glick is a treasure who boldly confronts unpleasant reality. The Haaretz guy is an elderly child who comforts himself with immature fantasies. This was basically the debate equivalent of Sitting Bull versus Custer, and Sitting Bull acquitted herself beautifully.
