Trump’s Policy on Israel

Janet Levy

Dr. Francisco Gil-White’s partial list (all citations are available at his Substack):

  1. He stopped Israel in Gaza before even taking office, forcing the ceasefire that Biden wanted, and protected Hamas;
  2. He wants Israel out of Lebanon pronto, thus protecting Hezbollah;
  3. He’s said about the Qataris—Hamas’s patrons—that “We had a great relationship during my [first-term] years in the White House, and it will be even stronger this time around!”, a claim supported by Trump’s up-and-coming golf course in Qatar and his new, ‘palace in the sky’ Air Force One jet that he’ll be flying in—a gift from the Qataris (more on Qatar here);

  • He negotiated with Hamas behind Israel’s back;
  • He stopped Israel from attacking Iran’s nuclear infrastructure;
  • He has greenlighted a nuclear program for the Saudis;;
  • He seems intent on resupplying Hamas with little input from the Israelis;
  • He travels to the Middle East to meet with the jihadis but doesn’t visit Israel, which is very slightly veiled diplomatese for any jihadis still asleep, and it means this: it’s open season on Israel; and
  • He removes sanctions on Syria even as the al-Nusra terrorists (basically ISIS) that now run Syria go about exterminating minorities.13
  • The entire picture is pro-jihadi and anti-Israel.
  • The thesis I will defend below is that none of this should be surprising, because, on the question of Israel, Trump 1.0 and Trump 2.0 have been perfectly consistent.
